[Audio] Ronika reMixed by Sugardaddy

Now that our girl Ronika’s utterly infectious Rough ‘N’ Soothe is out in the wild, and one of our surprise anthems of the summer (we say ‘surprise’ because we weren’t expecting it to get that stuck in our heads), we can give you a listen to the final reMix. this one comes from Sugardaddy, long standing duo comprised of Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay and Tim Hutton.

Sugardaddy whip up a vibe that walks the line between 80s epic and deep bassy House track. Bleeding snatches of rockin’ riff and soulful chimes over a B-Boy beat, this reMix created a enigmatic club groove for Ron’s vocals to drift in and out of. Replete with all manner of synthetic flourishes, the track feels like a Dub version of an existing tune, whist we imagine the other track to be lush 80s electronic Soul, this reMix is squarely aimed at late night dancefloors. Also, 100 points for the hilarious photo, that’s a genuine headline!

[Audio] Lindstrøm reMixed by Charli XCX & Twin Idol

In return for Norwegian Cosmic genius Lindstrøm reMixing here current single, You (Ha Ha Ha), ElectroPop princess Charli XCX has teamed up with Twin Idol to drop a radical reworking of Lindstrøm’s Fāār-I-Kāāl. And when we say ‘radical reworking’, we really mean it, Fāār-I-Kāāl, is I’m sure you remember is a bright, optimistic slab of funky galactic Disco. This is a bass heavy ElectroPop haze.

So what we have here is an R&B flavoured Bass track with and ElectroPop vibe. Charli lays down some vocals which the original track was missing and wraps the track in swirls of hazy synths and chimes. Big warping bass sounds jostle for space with haunting melodies as Charli and Twin Idol create a mood both of mystery and for dancing. Let’s face it, it’s pretty much a different song, but a pretty compelling one though.

[MP3] Yuksek & Oh Land

We’ve raved about French prodigy Yuksek’s new, Oh Land featuring, single a couple of times, but not yet been able to play you the track itself. Now the single is out, on Yuksek’s own new label Partyfine, the original (and best) mix and Yuksek’s own Club Mix are officially online for your listening pleasure, one of the catchiest singles of the year.

It’s hard to what to say about Last Of Our Kinds, kinda’ needs to be heard. It’s a swirling orchestra of drama and tribal drums. With a piano hook like a 70s musical, complete with “ahhh-ahhh”s and Oh Land’s 60s-esque vocal being the icing on the cake. It’s not your usual Electro track, it’s not your usual Pop track, but it works so well. Yuksek’s club take on the track delivers big beats to go with the quirky infectiousness. Stabby synths and a ton of clap and snare rolls, buzzing basses and deep electronic grooves, make this mix both a dancefloor smash, but quite ecclectic too. [MP3] Rebeka’s ‘Unconscious’

Polish ElectroPop duo Rebeka, who you may remember from last year’s Stars on Discotexas, release their new album today. Hellada is a twelve track ElectroPop oddessy that comes out of Kamp!’s label Brennnessel, and to celebrate the release the duo are giving away one of the albums tracks, Unconscious.

If Unconscious is anything to go by, the album’s going to be areal treat. A distant, ecclectic slice of ElectroPop. With a gently synth backing, made up of pulsating bass and warm tones, the track creates a dreamlike, hazy mood with more than a little 80s SynthPop referencing going on. Iwona’s vocals glide over the song like slightly eerie silk. Loaded with surprising flourishes Unconscious brings some enigmatic, haunting, but irresistibly groovy, SynthPop into your life. [Audio] Strangers’ alternate Never Enough

London brooding SynthPop outfit Strangers single, Something New is finally out, and it comes equipped with a cracking B-Side, Never Enough (recently reMixed by No Ceremony). The guys have seen fit to unleash this alternate version of the B-Side with a few new touches and vocal help from English songstress Kyiki.

This is a big, bombastic, ElectroPop monster of the stadium variety. Powerful drums, layers upon layers of heavy synths and an epic, sweeping vocal all combine to deliver a rousing opus. Dark and moody in places, with haunting piano against grinding synth bass, the track goes euphoric for the choruses with a wall of spine tingling sound. A B-side worthy of being a a single in it;s own right, you should pick up both.

[Audio] Le Matos & Electric Youth

Adding to their currently busy release schedule, the awesome Girlfriend Records have just dropped the new album from Montréal based power synth producers Le Matos. Having been released in the past twenty-four hours we haven’t really had time to sit down with it yet, but one of the eye catching tracks on the LP is Light Again, featruing a bit of fellow Canadian ElectroPoppers Electric Youth.

Light Again is pretty classic sounding ElectroPop, with a rounded Dreamwave flavour. Built up of storming dancefloor beats and euphoric synths. A driving arpeggiated bassline pins the track down and gives it it’s compelling energy, while starlight leads twinkle and play around the track. Electric Youth’s Bronwyn’s vocals sound as sweet as ever as they cry out over Le Matos’ pumping tune. All-in-all a good omen for the rest of the album.
