Who Killed JR? reMix Heartsrevolution

heartsrevolution

We haven’t seen that many entries for Heartsrevolution’s ‘Teenage Teardrops’ competition yet but with this mix sent to us by South African producer Who Killed JR? the bar is set pretty high.

Completely changing the sound of the track, WKJR? French Touches things up to 11 and sprinkles on a little RoboPop. This track has it all, a funkin’ bassline, jump out of your seat chord stabs, vocoder action and when all wrapped up words really well with Heartsrevolution’s original. Good work  Who Killed JR?.

Sneaky Sound System’s new single

Sneaky Sound System

They’ve been teasing us for a while now, but here it is. The Australian super Pop duo Sneaky Sound System’s next track from their forthcoming new album.

‘BIG’ follows ‘We Love’ and gives us an idea of what to expect from Black Angus & Miss Connie third album, and first for Modular Recordings, titled, ‘From Here To Anywhere’ . Slick ElectroPop with a bouncy bassline and an epic chorus. Connie Mitchell’s vocals soar  over the track proving she is one of the best voices in electronic Pop. Guaranteed to please on the dancefloor, ‘BIG’ is also quite an understated, emotional track too, not as in your face as previous Sneaky Sound System singles. More mature maybe? Awesome stuff nonetheless.

LCMDF’s ‘Take Me To The Mountains’ video

LCMDF (I don’t think we are allowed to call them Le Corps Mince De Françoise anymore) are gearing up for the release of their next single ‘Take Me To The Mountains’.

Here’s the video, suitably raw and raucous for LCMDF, as is the track, but insanely catch too. ElectroPop as only LCMDF can make. Really love that late 80’s Depeche Mode-esque bass in the bridges.

‘Take Me To The Mountains’ is released 12th September with reMixes from The Orb, Mad Decent, DJ Skeet Skeet, MVSEVM and Get Well Soon.

More new Lazerhawk

lazerhawk

Two new Lazerhawk tracks in one week!

‘Distant Signal 001’ seems to be a continuation of the ‘Visitors’ EP. It’s a track with an absolute killer digital synth bassline. Sci-fi pads lend atmosphere to this cosmic Dreamwave track. Sparkling synths and alien lead sounds add to the musical abduction experience. Just stay focused on that bassline!

Little Jinder’s new video

So it looks like Swedish ElectroPop firecracker Little Jinder has given up on trying to be called just ‘Jinder’ and we can all breathe a sigh of relief and call her Little Jinder again.

Here’s her new single ‘Without You’, it’s a impressive mix of ElectroPop, Dubstep and a hint of Drum & Bass.

‘Without You’ is out this week on Trouble & Bass

Goin’ Old School: Arcadia – Election Day

Arcadia; what Duran Duran did in 1985 when they got a bit board of tropical beaches. ‘Election Day’ was their biggest hit.

Stay Ali’s new EP

stay ali

This week saw the release of a brand new Stay Ali EP on Technofavrik (the label of one Monsieur Adi).

‘Koaligula’ is the title track and it’s a beautifully crafted slice of laid back. Scandinavian Electronica. Don’t worry, there is a solid beat in there, but it’s layered thick with lush synth organs, biting leads and haunting melodies. Effortlessly pleasing to listen to, ‘Koaligula’ is like a meeting of Røyksopp and Jean-Michel Jarre with just a hint of a nod toward the Disco.

Lazerhawk remakes Powerglove’s ‘Hunters’

the-plague

There’s a moment in the Grindhouse movie Hobo With A Shotgun that introduces the badassery of two armoured demons/cyborgs know as The Plague. This murderous slaughter scene is soundtracked by a Powerglove track called ‘Hunters’.

‘Hunters’ has never been released (although the whole track is on one of the DVD extras for the movie) so Powerglove’s peer Lazerhawk has released his own version of the track into the wild. Lazerhawk’s take on ‘Hunters’ is just as intense as the original. Total John Carpenter-esque 80’s synth movie music with a dancefloor twist. Driving and powerful with a hint of horror, the digital bass and icy lead lines will keep you captivated.
