The release of Röyksopp & Robyn’s eagerly awaited collaborative mini-album, Do It Again, is not to far off now. We weren’t expecting any videos, but one has been unleashed. This is for the moody and hypnotic Sayit.

Directed by Sandberg & Timonen and Kacper Kasprzyk, the monochrome stark glitchyness rolls with the track well.

Röyksopp & Robyn’s Do It Again is out 26th May.

[Download] Pat Lok reMixes Adina Howard’s ‘Freak Like Me’

Adina Howard

OK, hold tight, ‘cos this one is huge. The Torontonian dude Pat Lok is back and he’s got something to celebrate. The man has just hit a million, yes a million, plays on his SoundCloud account and is marking the occasion by giving away this frankly immense reMix of Adina Howard’s 1995 hit Freak Like Me. We sincerely hope your listening to this jam on a system with decent bass.

Spending it;s first few moments easily blending from a 90s R&B groove into a House monster the effortlessly juggles an early Chicago vibe with cutting edge Bass House power. And that’s not mentioning the shuffling Garage shit going on throughout. This is just a killer tune that needs to be played in clubs right now, like right this second. Turn the bass up, turn the volume up, hit play. You won’t regret it.

Toxo

Italian label Body Heat have just put out a rather tasty three track EP for free. Positioned as a sampler for their upcoming artists the release features tracks from Rocoe & Umberto Lumber, Msystem, The Couch Potatoes, and this beat from Rome based DJ Toxo. It’s called Need Your Love

Set apart from the more sample based offerings found elsewhere on the EP, Toxo’s tune meshes a vintage Disco hook with some almighty chainsaw synths. Knocking out a heavy TurboFunk groove, Need Your Love blends droning synths, squelchy riffs with infectious filtered Disco in an organized chaotic way until you end up with one of those peak time track you can’t help but go mental too.

[Download] Fire Flowerz reMix Route94’s ‘My Love’

route-94

Italian Disco duo have done it again with this massive new reMix of Route94 and Jess Glynne’s smash My Love. Apparently the original was just too “chill” for their DJ sets so they souped it up and gave it one of their trademark high-octane makeovers, this time injecting a whole load of piano House into proceedings. Check it out.

Dripping with early 90s vibes, Fire Flowerz mix of My Love takes Glynne’s big diva vocal and runs with it. A heavy piano hook permeates the track, hammering out its’ infectious riff over broken waves of bass heavy House. Modulating vocal snatches, as is requisite these days, Fire Flowerz deliver a full on floorfiller which we’re sure went down a storm in their sets.

[Audio] Austra’s ‘Habitat’

Austra

Torontonian ElectroPop chanteuse Austra is gearing up for the release of her brand new EP. Titled Habitat the new one will come not only in digital format, but also in a limited run of 500 12”s. Following on from her last single, Hurt Me Now, itself taken from the amazing Olympia album, Habitat sees Katie Stelmanis returning to her more ethereal roots whilst injecting a little Deep House flair.

Long time live favourite, Habitat is an undulating, tribal epic. Moody and enigmatic, the bass rumbles, the kick drives and the uneasy industrial instrumentation rattles around the track creating a magical and futuristic soundscape. Katie’s haunting vocals temper the track’s edge and instilling a cinematic, narrative, feel. A timeless slice of electronic music.

[Download] DeadstocK DisKo reMix Stevie Wonder’s ‘All I Do’

Stevie Wonder

Out next month via the awesome Nude Disco imprint is the new release from London’s DeadstocK DisKo. It’s called Do It and as a primer the Disco duo have unleaded this glorious reMix of Stevie Wonder’s All I Do and perfectly sets up the funky Sci-Fi sounds to come from these guys.

A nice mix of vintage and futuristic; DeadstocK DisKo work some slick retro synths, cosmic pads and a Moog-y lead, with a solid Funky House groove. Stevie’s instantly recognisable vocal drifts through the track, given room where needed, providing a little pizazz for the infectiously pumping Synth Disco. If this is the kind of tracks these two are going to be dropping in a few weeks time, prepare to be very excited.

[Audio] ATTAR!’s ’45 Days’

ATTAR!

Belgian synth warrior ATTAR! returns this week with a brand new single. Once again showing off his electro prowess as he recruits Induce & Santana to drop 45 Days. Out now via Eskimo Records, the single comes complete with reMixes from Douze and Rob Made and an English version of the originally French tune.

But the reMixes have nothing on the sleazy SynthPop of the original. Pulling everything from Acid House to Italo into a slightly disco influenced mix, ATTAR! has created something akin to Visage meeting Jean-Michele Jarre produced by Phuture. As cinematic as it is groovy, Induce & Santana’s duelling vocals are the icing on the cake.

[Download] Reflex’s ‘Sunset’

Reflex

Sunset is the new single from one of our favourite French SynthPop duos Reflex. Out this week on Tigers On A Leash, Sunset is the first new single we’ve had from these two since June last year’s Together, but Lud and André haven;t been just sitting around, aside from touring the globe it seems like these guys have been hard at work putting together a stunning new release.

Getting ready for the summer, Reflex bring the good-time vibes with them as they deliver a densely layers, buoyant ElectroPop tune, loaded with thick synths and a compelling Disco beat. Ludmila’s vocals shimmy over the tune like silk. Whether poolside or at the beach, this tune really does encapsulate Seadisco. Not that we’re sure what Seadisco is, but it definitely sounds like this. For a Housier take on the track check out the Club Mix, injecting some 909 drums and growling synth bass into the airy mix to bring the tune to harder dancefloors. The whole EP, out this week, is pretty stunning. We’re really hoping Reflex have an album in the works, we think they’d work really well as an album artist.

[Audio] Ku De Ta’s ‘What’s Going On?’

Caron Wheeler

There’s already a reigning king of updating Soul II Soul’s Back to Life (However Do You Want Me), but enter London based newcomers Ku De Ta to grab a little of that spotlight. Taking the vocal hook from said track, the duo whips up a massive House monster with all the bass you could ask for.

Serving up a restrained sprinkling of Caron Wheeler’s vocals, the duo go head first into a Garage-y House track with a luscious rolling synth bassline. The track is stripped back, excising big room chaff to concentrate on the pure, distilled, essence of the dancefloor. There’s a hint of Deep House, a hint of Chicago, and a hint of a warehouse vibe, all expertly played by Ku De Ta who have delivered a crate essential.
