[Audio] Kosheen DJs’ ‘Take Me’

Kosheen

Released this week is the new EP from Bristol legends Kosheen darker, more dancefloor oriented, wing Kosheen DJs. Three tracks of pounding and unrelenting electronic groove that is highlighted by the EP’s lead track Take Me. Strap in for some bass heavy vibes.

Drawing as much from their Drum & Bass roots as they do hypnotic Deep House, Kosheen DJs Mark and Darren deliver a track that is involving and intoxicating. Rolling on low, pulsating bass grumbles the tune offers up a pallet of House stabs, 70s Spy Thriller notes and echoing vocal snatches that bob and weave around the relentless bass and kick groove like a lifeboat lost at sea. A full-on tune to loose yourself in on the dancefloor.

[Audio] Bit Funk reMixes Nameless’ ‘7 Days In The Sun’

Nameless

Here’s a new slice of tasty smoothness from New York producer Bit Funk. It’s a reMix of the new single from French rockers Nameless. 7 Days In The Sun is a stuttering Indie-Rock tune that is completely transformed in the hands of Bit Funk into sweeping Robo-Disco dancefloor silk.

Effortlessly cool, Bit Funk’s reMix of 7 Days In The Sun immediately wraps you in a blanket of warm synths and an easy Disco beat. Repurposing the original’s vocals as a modulated mantra, Bit Funk really does bring the sunshine to the song, spacing out groovy electric piano and a bouncy bassline along it;s six minute length. Evocative of hot summer nights and poolside parties, this reMix really hits the chilled, summery sweet spot.

Mixing up a little House into his Nu-Disco sound he’s consistently unleashing dancefloor gold. His latest offering, Had a Thing Together, brings together a House beat with a nice French Touch groove. [Audio] Goldroom reMixes Ms Mr’s ‘Hurricane’

Ms Mr

Hot on the heels of his reMix of MØ’s Don’t Wanna’ Dance, Dreamwave OG and oceanic Disco captain Goldroom has unleashed his reMix of MYC ElectroPop duo Ms Mr’s Hurricane. Officially released earlier this month sees Goldroom mixing up a little live instrumentation into his smooth poolside brand to blissful effect.

Goldroom’s reMix of Hurricane eases you into proceedings. Gradually building it’s groove out of a breezy bassline and chilled drums before infecting you ears with it’s surf guitar. The real genius of this reMix , though, is the rolling, almost Acid, synth riff that permeates the background in the middle section. Oh, and the almighty sax. Check it out.

[Audio] Thunder & Co.’s début EP

Thunder & Co.

Hailing from Lisbon in Portugal Thunder & Co. have come out of nowhere and have just unleashed their début EP via Duro Music. We’d never heard of them before, but just one listen to their première release told us everything we needed to know, the EP is very very good. Five tracks of Indie-Electro infused Nu-Disco that can easily stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the genre. Get involved with their self-titled collection now.

The Lead track O.N.O. (One Night Only) is a slick summer jam that cascaded easy, dreamy, synths over an energetic Nu-Disco groove. Catchy and optimistic vocals inserted into the mix for that sing-a-long factor are the icing on the cake. It;s an impressive start to the EP. Elsewhere you can find D.Y.E., which continues in the vein of emotional, live Indie-Dance with a sprinkling of Italo bass and Disco licks amongst the thick synth groove and impassioned vocals. I.C.K.Y. end the EP on a more House-y tip with modulated vocals and a cheeky bright keys vibe. these three tracks alone are worth the price, but there two more for you to discover too. We recommend checking this EP out.

[Audio] The 2 Bears’ ‘Angel (Touch Me)’

the-2-bears

Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell A. K. A. The 2 Bears have announced the forthcoming release of their new album, The Night Is Young. Dropping this summer on Southern Fried Records, the follow-up to their 2012 debut Be Strong will be preceded by this new single, Angel (Touch Me). Check it out.

Featuring the vocals of Kwaito legend Senyaka, Angel (Touch Me) is one of The 2 Bears finest tunes to-date. Embracing piano house wholly, The 2 Bears embark on a journey of groovy organs, infectious piano and shuffling percussion inspired by the Wim Wenders’ film Wings Of Desire and the duo certainly bring together a wealth of Dance Music styles in way that is warm and comforting. Oh, and the album’s probably going to be huge.

[Download] Clancy’s ‘Take it Slow’

Clancy

The boy’s doing good. London based producer Clancy had a pretty massive 2013, a couple of slammin;’ EPs, a heap of well-received reMixes (including something rather tasty indeed), and getting all up in Kitsuné business. Obviously feeling pretty chuffed about all this, Clancy has dropped a free tune as a thank you for all the support he’s received over the past year. Sink into Take It Slow.

Riding a deep warping bassline, Take It Slow delivers thick, mood setting, House vibes. Enigmatic and intoxicating, this musical mystery allows it’s subby bass to provide a rock solid platform for airy keys to serve up something a little more kinetic. Take It Slow isn’t actually that slow, but it is brooding and magical and one to loose yourself in at the end of the night.

[Audio] The Presets reMix Kylie Minogue’s ‘I Was Gonna’ Cancel’

kylie-minogue-presets

I think someone’s been reading our secret wish-list, ‘cos The Presets have gone and turned in an official reMix for Kylie Minogue. I Was Gonna’ Cancel will be the second proper single from Kylie’s new album, Kiss Me Once, a track originally produced by Pharrell Williams, is given a left-field House makeover by the Australian masters.

The Presets take an abstract, warehouse, stab at the track; injecting a whole load of their own style into the mix. To a certain extent the tune sounds a lot like The Presets featuring Kylie Minogue, playing with a selection of The Presets trademark sonic flourishes; but Kylie’s voice amongst the experimental House groove adds an extra bit of sparkle. Unexpectedly deep.
