This is the video for New York Indie-Disco act MEN’s début UK single ‘Credit Card Babie$’.
Starting out with a core duo of Le Tigre members JD Samson and Johanna Fatema, MEN has expanded into a full on band and art/performance collective. The video for their insanely catchy Indie-Electro-Pop début was directed by Matt Wolf.
‘Hang With Me’ is the first single from Robyn’s ‘Body Talk Part 2’, we dropped the video last week. It’s a cute SynthPop ballad that is a good sign for the forthcoming album. That ElectroPop producer extraordinaire Starsmith is providing one of the single’s reMixes is just too good to be true!
And the track lives up to expectations. Pure uplifting electronic Pop goodness that makes expectations run high not just for Robyn’s second ‘Body Talk’ album but Starsmith’s soon-to-be-released EP too!

‘Hang With Me’ is taken from the ‘Body Talk Pt. 2’ album and is out 5th September.
Things have been quiet from The Vanish camp since the release of their last single, ‘Hold On’ but this week sees the release of ‘Heartbeat’, the second track from their demo EP to be given the single treatment.
The Indie-Disco-Pop ‘Heartbeat’ was my favourite track on the original demo EP, making top ten in electronic rumors’ top 20 songs of 2009, so the single, and it’s stellar reMix line up is most welcome here. Speaking of ‘stellar’, Australians Get Stellar and Beaumont both provide mixes for the package.
That was a terrible segway…………….
Anyway, the Beaumont mix we have for you here isn’t the one appearing on the single, that is an 8-bit Chiptune-Disco affair, this alternate mix is a smooth electronic Pop track in the Starsmith vein that I think I actually prefer. There is a certain epic journey-ness to this mix that can’t help but win you over. Get Stellar’s reMix goes straight for the Electro-Disco jugular that’s just made for late night dancefloor action.
The single, taken from ‘the History Of Modern’ OMD’s first studio album on 14 years, will also feature a reMix from Finnish SynthPop heroes and sometime OMD support act VillaNah who layer the track with their own brand of retro electronics. Amazingly, VillaNah have managed to make the song sound more retro than OMD themselves, that’s quite an achievement!
Hey, didwemention we’re particularly exited about LexiconDon’s forthcoming début album? No? We’d better mention it then!
Here at electronic rumors we’re particularly excited about LexiconDon’s forthcoming début album!
And to keep that excitement going Binary have dropped the second preview track from ‘Pink + Blue’, released later this month. ‘Student Body’, like ‘December Sunset’ the previous track, is smoother and more mature (musically) than we had previously been used to, which bodes well for the album. This track is just pure catchy summer SynthPop. It’s got everything in the right places; a mid 80’s R&B groove, Indie tinged vocals with a cool narrative, retro ElectroPop synths.
LexiconDon’s ‘Pink + Blue’ is due to drop 24th August on dubFrequency/Binary, and keep it locked to electronic rumors for our forthcoming Binary event!
Things have been quite in the Penguin Prison camp for a few weeks now, the guy’s been studio bound working on his forthcoming début album.
He’s taken some time out, though, to drop this awesome reMix of Passion Pit new-classic ‘Little Secrets’. Reinventing the track for this summer, Mr. Prison drops some intricate drum programming and a hypnotic piano break that just draws you in and carries you along until the string laden finalé.
The Miami Horror album is out soon! Less than a month until the release of Melbourne’s Electro-Disco-Pop gurus long awaited LP, ‘Illumination’.
‘I Look To You’, from the album, features the vocal work of New Zealand based up and coming singer/songwriter Kimbra. It’s a total summer party jam (let’s hope the weather hold up ‘til the album’s out!), full-on Balearic Disco with some massive horns topped of with Kimbra’s amazingly sweet vocals.
Visitor are musically going from strength to strength, this reMix of Aussie IndiePop act Amy Meredith’s forthcoming single ‘Young At Heart’ is almost indescribably good.
Epic is the best word to describe it. the vocals are so perfectly matched to Visitors music that is sounds like it should have always been like this. What’s been created is an awesome slice of 80’s influenced, but forward looking, ElectroPop that is not only hands down better than the original but one of the best ElectroPop tracks of the year.
Chromeo have premiered the video for their smooth-as-silk new single ‘Don’t Turn The Light’s On’ and it’s a pretty creepy looking clip, all eyes and teeth!
Directed by Keith Schofield the video has a weird 80’s crazies thing going on with some pretty humorous moments. Check it out:
‘Don’t Turn The Lights On’ is out this week and taken from the album ‘Business Casual’ which is released 14th September. You can pre-order the album here.
