That’s the blurb accompanying Moustache Machine latest EP, out now for free via Yeah!/Dish Records, and what you get in the tracks does indeed sound exactly like that. the lead track ‘Miami 1986’ is a, nearly, seven minute journey through the narrative, taking in different moods and tempos along the way, taking you from the calm-before-the-storm through to the moment of impact and beyond all in one retro synth track that revels in funky digital bass and atmospheric lead lines.

Fear Of Tigers reMix competition!

That is a Cat On A Keyboard In Space, you can be on your keyboard all over one of Fear Of Tigers’ best loved tunes, ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ as he launches what I’m sure will prove to be an exciting reMix competition.

In 2009 Fear Of Tigers released hid début album ‘Cossus Snufsigalonia’, which was one of the best albums of the year and, bewilderingly, given away for free. ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ (or ‘Pippi’ to it’s friends) was an immediate hit and pretty much summed up everything we Retro Electro/Dreamwave/ElectroPop fans were looking for. It was even on the telly!

Fast forward to 2011 and FoT is gearing up to release a brand new album, ahead of witch will be coming some reworks of the older tunes getting an official release. Possibly including your reMix alongside the likes of Diamond Cut and Edwin Van Cleef?

You can find the lowdown on the reMix completion here and grab all the stems right here. It’s gonna’ be a tough fight though, with judging alongside FoT will be Justin Faust, Futurecop!, Diamond Cut and Edwin Van Cleef! This is one reMix competition you can be sure we’ll be keeping an eye on!

The magic music man behind LexiconDon’s solo output has, in the past, swung between straight up Dreamwave and Electro-House but with ‘Last Flight’ Fabian has got the groove like never before. Smooth summery vocal Nu-Disco guaranteed to get the party started and keep it going. It’s a huge track, pretty anthemic too, that’ll have you reaching for the starts. The EP is backed with reMixes from French Horn Rebellion, NightWaves, Reset!, Justin Faust, Lancelot, Douze and Robots For Rayguns. Justin Faust and fellow Binary crew NightWaves, particularly, bring it home with real emotional slices of retro synth while French Horn Rebellion’s reMix introduces an Disco Funk flavour. Reset! works his slammin’ Electro-House sound into the tune and for something a bit smoother Lancelot lays down an awesome synthesizer Disco vibe. Alpha Boy’s new EP

German producer of 80’s inspired electronic music Alpha Boy is back with a brand new EP, his third. It’s free too!

The ‘Fresh’ EP is four tracks of his particular mix of melodic synthesizer dance, Nu-Disco and ChipTune. The EP kicks off with ‘Chip Child’ and almost oriental arpeggio workout that leads into ‘Falkor’, a sweeping 80’s theme tune of a song. This is RoboPop heaven, deep machine basses underpin soaring cosmic lead lines in a track that is uplifting electro gold. ‘The Fresh Tape’ is more of a slow jam that is followed with ‘Walking On Light’, the EPs finale. ‘Walking On Light’ sends you off on a high combining retro electronics, Disco strings and a baroque feel in a track both banging and emotional.
