Blue Satellite reMixes Monsieur Adi (& The Whip)

Monsieur Adi

The excellent Blue Satellite get’s his Justice on with this reMix of Monsieur Adi awesome, epic, Nu-Disco single ‘Fire Fire Fire’.

In one of the most exciting reMixes I’ve heard this month Blue Satellite takes many of the elements of Electro these days that have been annoying me, making the scene complacent and predictable, and injected them with a new energy and craftsmanship and, basically, just show up half of the Electro-House scene as lazy, talentless fools. This is how it should be done.

♫ Monsieur Adi – Fire Fire Fire (Blue Satellite reMix)

He’s also just reMixed The Whip’s new single ‘Keep Or Delete’ with a sound more like we would expect from Blue Satellite but still rocking a new found chainsaw synth edge to his production.

The Magician Jeppe Plastic Plates

the magician

Plastic Plates reMixing The Magician? You know you’re in for a treat there! Two of the ruling acts in synthesizer Disco in a head on collision where the explosion sounds like an electro tom roll.

‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, featuring Jeppe on vocals, was already a top slice of Disco flavoured ElectroPop but Plastic Plates bring in a shuffling space Funk vibe. I would kinda’ like to see this overdubbed into the Disco scene in the 80’s Buck Rogers TV Movie with Gil Gerard & Erin Gray gettin’ down.

The Magician (Feat. Jeppe) – I Don’t Know What To Do (Plastic Plates reMix)

‘I Don’t Know What To Do’ is released 3rd October on Kitsuné Music.

Tobtok

tobtok

Tobtok may only be 18 but he’s been throwing out some seriously good tracks.

His latest release, the ‘I’ll Never Forget You’ single, is made up of two slightly older tracks released for free on SoundCloud and is pure joy to listen to. Sitting between synthetic Disco and French Touch the lead track is a big builder with a chord progression that is total euphoria. Everything cuts through the mix on this track, from the retro synth stabs to the driving arpeggio. Quality stuff. the flip side, ‘Pressure’ brings a more Nu-Disco vibe to the table. Slick and sexy, the track is peak time beach music.

Cyndi Seui covers Badly Drawn Boy

Cyndi Seui latest release come straight from the forthcoming Kitsch Cat Vol.2 compilation and features Gramaphone Children to boot.

A Cover of Badly Drawn Boy’s ‘Silent Sigh’ the track sees Seui becoming even more of a force to be reckoned with as he effortlessly rides the thin line between Nu-Disco/Dreamwave and ElectroPop. Lush synthesizer Pop, multi layers and meticulously produced, that’s always kept funky with a slick Disco bassline is Seui’s trademark, and he deftly applies that to this cover version turning a reasonably dreary song into a beautiful synth powerhouse.

Cyndi Seui (Feat. Gramaphone Children) – Silent Sigh (Bradley Drawn Boy Cover)

Kitsch Cat Vol.2 is out in November and features Cyndi Seui, Yuri’s Nominee, Gramaphone Children, Stargazer, Instant Science, Pelific, and Astrolabe.

Final DJs’ new tune

finaldjs

Germany’s Final DJs have dropped a new tune intent on putting some funk in your soul.

Not nearly a full of soaring synths as their previous work, ‘Funk In Your Soul’ is a slow building Disco tune that owes as much to LA Nu-Funk a la DâM-FunK as it does to Dreamwave or Nu-Disco. The loose groove is quite a stark contrast to their regimented quantized tracks, and that of their contemporaries, but works really well for a late night summer jam.

Darius

darius

Darius’ new tune for Shiny Disco Club is brings the tempo down and the sidechaining up.

In Daruis’ hand his samples become mid-tempo pulsating, hypnotic Disco brain worms. They’ll burrow into the pleasure centres of your brain and live there, funking to the thick synths and cut-up madness of ‘Falling In Love’.

Mustang & Clubfeet reMix Crystal Fighters

crystalfighters

Crystal Fighters new single ‘Champion Sound’ come complete with a whole host of top reMixes.

Out next month on Different the highlights of the reMix package come from Mustang and Clubfeet. Both artists take the left-field ElectroPop of the Fighters and make it their own. Mustang give us something a little different from their norm with a big deep, pretty dark, analog groove fest that pulsates through your brain. Clubfeet provide the popiest of the reMixes with a summery Indie-Electro feel build upon layers of smooth synths and turns the vocal track into a lazy poolside sing-a-long.
