Short Circuit’s new single

Andrew Verner A.K.A. Short Circuit is fast becoming the king of Robo-Pop. Coming out of L.A.’s Binary family, the go-to gang for forward thinking cotemporary ElectroPop, Short Circuit has been responsible for some awesome reMixes of late, but the time has come for him to release some original material into the wild.

Setting himself apart from the pack with his heavy use of vocodered vocals, his début single, ‘Let Go’, is a robotic love letter set to a soundtrack of warm synth leads and burbling basses. The single is backed by the kind of reMix package that has fans of electronic Pop music grinning like idiots all day after hearing it. Fellow Binary act, the reliably amazing, NightWaves bring a bit more of a Dreamwave flavour to the track, although heavier than you’d expect from these guys They bring the robot to the Disco with some thick bass sounds and screaming synths. Small Pyramids take ‘Let Go’ to a more chilled, atmospheric, place with a deep electronic groove while Popskarr reveal themselves as one to watch after turning in a blinding, funky, late night House mix.

New Anoraak track!

Anoraak

Member of the Valerie posse and Dreamwave pioneer Anoraak has been quiet of late but today dropped a new track on the public via his Facebook page.

It’s a welcome return from Frédéric, I still listen to 2008’s ‘Nightdrive With You’ all the time and this new tune, ‘Above Your Head’ has the same vibe going on. This is the prefect way to make emotional electronic music with a smooth, chilled summer vibe. If you were looking for some ElectroPop to while away these warm nights we’re getting recently to, then look no further:

Anoraak – Above Your Head

Anoraak’s full length début is due on 30th August on naïve.

Cassette Club 4 Me

CasetteClub

Some interesting facts:

1) Cassette Club’s new single on Eye Industries, ‘4 me’, is pretty awesome. 2) The reMix package is even awesomer. 3) The fact that Eye Industries is allowing us to share four storming reMixes with you is the awesomest!

You can check out the original on SoundCloud, it’s a smooth and soulful Nu-Disco affair with a late night vibe and the reMixes just knock it out of the park! I gotta’ begin with a shout out to our friend Beaumont, not only is it great to see so many of his reMixes getting official releases these days but the man keeps getting better and better. This reMix, I reckon, is my favourite of his tracks to days. It’s a sweet Dreamwave track that is easily equal to, or better than, most of the Valerie crew’s output. Bestrack keep the Nu-Disco groove going but deliver a slightly harder vibe while Quinten 909 & Livian go crazy with the deep funky House thang. Algeronics wrap up the single with a Wonky bass Fidget tune thick with rave synths. A truly impressive line up of reMixes!

Monarchy drop their Kelis reMix!

kelis02

After teasing us on Twitter, London SynthPop masters Monarchy have finally dropped their reMix of Kelis recent smash ‘Acapella’!

From the offset you can tell it’s something special, instantly transporting you to Planet Monarchy as the duo effortlessly work their futuristic synth magic for their take on the track. Actually, ‘Acapella’ is a really fitting song for Monarchy to reMix, the vocal track itself has a kinda’ 80’s space-age Disco feel to it so when combined with the music of these two stargazing ElectroPoppers it becomes this amazing soundtrack to the best 80’s Sci-Fi movie you never saw.

I’d love to see a video for this cut out of bits from ‘Battle Beyond The Stars’ or something!

The Sound Of Arrows reMix Lady GaGa

LadyGaga03

It’s not Lady GaGa’s best song, but it is her new single, and it is elevated to the lofty heights of ‘fucking awesome’ by Swedish SynthPop masters The Sound of Arrows.

‘Alejandro’ is given a complete, smooth SynthPop makeover the way only The Sound Of Arrows can becoming a slice of pure 80’s Pop with the lightest touch of Nu-Disco!

Lady GaGa – Alejandro (The Sound Of Arrows reMix)

The Sound Of Arrows reMix is currently available on ‘The reMix’ and is part of the ‘Alejandro’ single, released 15th June.

Worship

Worship

Swiss producer Worship is, not only responsible for some of the best reMixes of the last year or so but also a purveyor of mighty fine Space-Synth tinged Dreamwavey Electro-House.

He recently dropped a new tune, ‘Starcrash’ which, as the name suggests, is a cosmic analog odyssey that soars along at light speed to the timing of a solid House beat. Those retro synth hits and screaming lead lines are irresistible!

Worship – Starcrash

Check out one of his older tracks too, ‘Cosmic Roller Girls’ is an alien Disco jam of the kind that would make Buck Rodgers (in the 80’s) get his groove on!

Muffin

Muffin

Australian Dreamwaver Muffin has dropped a couple of new tracks on an eager internet.

‘Sunkissed’ and ‘Astronaut Candy’ are two, amazingly produced, retro synth monsters. Chilled grooves and sparking synths are the order of the day, pinned down with rolling FM basslines. ‘Astronaut Candy’ is a laidback jam perfect for summer nights in the city whereas ‘Sunkissed’ is a little harder with an awesome synth lead.
