Douze – We Got The Love

‘We Got The Love’ is the latest track from Frenchman Arnault Douze Esteve A.K.A. Douze.

A protégé of Kris Menace and collaborator of the one-and-only Alan Braxe, Douze creates an amazing amalgamation of French-Touch, Disco, ElectroPop and talk box Funk. This is the smoothest slice of Disco that has landed on the electronic rumors desk in a while and just when you’re getting into the groove with the body moving bassline and lush pads the track hits you with a devastating solo! Awesome stuff.

Douze’s EP, ‘Doxology’, is out 6th December on Work It Baby.

Ren Riz & Jesus H Macy

I don’t know why, but we’ve never featured Ren Riz on electronic rumors, which strikes me as odd seeing as his recent ‘Swamp’ single was pretty awesome and got a lot of play here.

Anyway, the Australian producer is back in a team up with Jesus H Macy and a huge Janet Jackson sampling Disco tune. Seriously, this is the feel-good track of the week. Build around the vocal hook from Jacksons ‘When I Think Of You’ the guys have created a massive Nu-Disco monster with just the right amount of French Touch.

Enjoy!

Bag Raiders reMixed by Universe

It’s pretty fair to say I’m a little obsessed with Bag Raiders’ ‘Way Back Home’, in fact their whole self-titled début album is a work of genius.

Considering I can’t get enough of the track new reMixes are always welcome. Enter Sydney man-of-mystery Universe who pulls the ElectroPop powerhouse of a track into Tropical, Cosmic Disco, territory. Turning the upbeat, almost anthemic, original into a lazy, hazy, summer jam with some rad percussive touches.

AXXE’s new EP

Today see the release of Canada’s finest sleazy DiscoPop duo AXXE ’s début ‘proper’ EP on Montreal house label Mile End Records.

Titled ‘Mainstream’ the EP is a collection of reMixes from their self released double A-side single ‘Hard Candy’/’S.A.T,.U.R.D.A.Y. Night’ that wend down so well with us early in the year. Featuring the skills of the likes of Worship, Neon Workout, Cavaliers Of Fun, Zakolski, Meroz and these two reMixes here. Dave Allison bring his appropriately named ‘Disco Dust Dub’ to the EP, which is, as it sounds, a deep Disco groove and a real 4am on the dancefloor track. Blond:ish & Stephen Hoffman reMix is altogether Techier, and is pure Big Room House goodness.

Futurecop! – Venice Beach

Here was have the latest offering from one of the UK’s most criminally underrated acts.

The Manchester/London ElectroPop duo of Futurecop! are currently gearing up for the release of their début long player (which those lucky Japanese can already get their hands on!) ‘It’s Forever, Kids’. The album is said to contain more ‘proper’ Pop songs, featuring guest vocalists, alongside their retro inspired Nu-Disco sound. Songs like ‘Venice Beach’ (co-produced by Worship), featuring Ricco Vitalio on vocals. Check the video for some California style ElectroPop goodness!

The track is an easy reminder of why Futurecop! are one of the UK’s top synth outfits and can effortlessly stand toe-to-toe with the very beat Dreamwave from France or LA. I just wish they’d release more!

Futurecop! (Feat. Ricco Vitalio) – Venice Beach

There’s a couple of reMixes too, from two producers we’ve hyped up here at electronic rumors before. The one and only Frankie Barretso drops his track straight on the dancefloor with a massive Disco mix while France’s 4TrakZ more Electro take on the track still keeps it funky with a killer bassline.

Radio INK

Radio INK are an in-your-face ElectroPop act from Sydney, Australia, who are pretty well known on their home turf but defiantly need some worldwide exposure.

The trio are about to release their third single, ‘Physical’, which is produced by hyper-talented Diamond Cut (who reMixed their last two singles) and features reMixes by the cream of down under talent. The awesome Muffin, who has been far too quiet of late, brings his massive sounding Nu-Disco flavour to the track with some massive pads and killer bass. G.L.O.V.E.S. drops more of a late night Disco vibe. Injecting the sexy to Muffin’s euphoria. Moonchild round off the package with their Filter-House  workout. All three mixes keep much of the song itself intact making for thee awesome ElectroPop tracks. This single is recommended!

Monarchy reMix Kylie Minogue

It was only yesterday that it was announced that the ElectroPop mystery men Monarchy would be reMixing Kylie Minogue’s next single, ‘Better Than Love’ and already we have the reMix so you lot can listen to it!

In true Monarchy style, the London Cosmic SynthPoppers have taking Kylie into space. If Kylie’s music is the sound of a Disco down on Earth, then Monarchy create the soundtrack to the Disco in the orbiting space station. Floating, zero-G, synths wash over Miss Minogue’s dreamlike vocals all held together by the their machine beats. With a pulsing bassline acting as the heartbeat of the tune this is one of the most innovative Disco or ElectroPop reMixes that I have heard in a while. Or maybe I’m just reading too much into it? It’s pretty rad either way!

This is the track that should make first contact!

Alpha Boy

Berlin’s Alpha Boy is one of the coolest producers I have come across in recent months.

This 25 year old Xibalba first dipped his 80’s inspired toe in the waters of electronic music making when he received a PlayStation 1 and Music 2000 for X-mas, the rest is a history that is still being written. Falling in, mostly with the Dreamwave crowd, Alpha Boy is even more 80’s influenced, citing the likes of Harold Faltermeyer as an influence. These influences drive him to create danceable, yet strongly emotive, retro synth music.

He’s just releasing a new EP, ‘The Return Of 1986’, which perfectly showcases his cinematic brand of Electro. Check out these two tracks. ‘Stardust’ is an deep, analog, spacesynth tune with an almost EBM-esq driving force layered with sweeping optimistic lead lines while ‘The Wraith 1986’ (presumably named for the awesome Movie featuring the even more awesome Sherilyn Fenn!) is an epic midnight drive of a tune with hints of ChipTune amongst the surging leads.
