Purity Ring’s new track

It’s been a few months since we featured Canadian deep ElectroPop duo Purity Ring so it’s high time we dropped their third track, ‘Belispeak’.

It’s quite a stunning peice of work, encompassing shuffling Electro 808 beats with moody Minimal Synth-esque sounds and a truly epic vocal performance. There really is something special about the twisted innocence of the vocals working in tandem with haunting synthetics and almost Hip Hop beats.

DMX Krew reMixes SebastiAn

It’s no secret that I love DMX Krew, so I was eager to investigate EDMX’s reMix of Ed Banger Electro king SebastiAn’s new single ‘C.T.F.O.’

ED brings his B-boy Electro A-game to the mix, which is just what we like him to do. 808’s & DMXs, Analog basslines & scratching, M.I.A. vocoded beyond all recognition and that 808 cowbell. The DMX Krew cosmic Electro-Funk is in full effect right here and ED has managed to work just the right mix of Sci-Fi otherworldliness and that cold B-boy Electro edge with a catchy groove that’ll stick in your head.

Ronika’s ‘In The City’ video

this is the brand new video for ‘In The City’, one side of Nottingham DiscoPop princess Ronika’s forthcoming double A-side single.

Director Laurence Matthew Blake has quite authentically captured a late 80’s/early 90’s House feel to the clip which perfectly captures the groove of Ronika’s track.

Monsieur Adi reMixes Madonna’s ‘Erotica’

Monsieur Adi’s trilogy of Madonna reMixes seems to have given up trying to be a trilogy, grabbed his Madonna record collection and run with it.

This time he’s taking on ‘Erotica’ and gives us something a little different, but inspired genius. Tribal, almost dancehall, beast and robotic vocal manipulation which builds and builds it’s hypnotic groove until a peak where it injects the bit we’re all waiting for. Adi immaculate orchestration. The huge strings and brass then giveaway to an edgy, haunting ending. Monsieur Adi nails is again, the layers and textures with which he crafts his reMix really put him in a league of his own.

Sternrekorder

Here’s the video for Sternrekorder’s track, ‘Sugarshaker’, from the forthcoming vinyl release, ‘Weissensee’ .

The East German producer’s music is heavily inspired by 70s and 80s synth wizards such as Jarre and Tangerine Dream. it’s an analog synth-head’s dream.

‘Weissensee’ is released 1st September on Astro Chicken.

Kamp!’s new single and JBAG reMix

kamp We haven’t heard much from Polish SynthPop trio Kamp! single mid last year, but they make a storming return next month with a new single on none other than Discotexas!

‘Cairo’ is more smooth Dreamwave flavoured retro pop than ‘Hearts’, their smash of last year, although with that track you could hear that they were heading in this direction. Cool Disco guitar licks are added to their sound which ads a layer of Funk to the slick summery ElectroPop and the Spandau vocals. London’s ElectroPop DJ kings JBAG are on the mix for the single with a bouncy, pitch perfect, dancefloor ElectroPop track with an absolute killer bassline that you won’t be able to help yourself moving to.

St. Lucia is a South African Indie-Electro songwriter residing in Brooklyn who début single, ‘All Eyes On You’ has been reMixes up a treat by ’96 Bulls.

The Bulls (Armstrong & Jackson) get everything just right with their Antipodean Nu-Disco, loaded with retro sounds that the duo bring straight to the club for a DiscoElectroPop floorfiller, and that’s before the sax kicks in. Oh, the sax….

SoundCloud is now bursting at the seems with reMixes of Fear Of Tigers’ ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ for their reMix competition. We’ve already dropped some of our favourites, now lets check out some of the newest entries.

Guy Zalaxy produces an impressive, smooth, night drive of a track which is heavy on the electro toms (no bad thing) and a chilled retro flavour. Pidoo’s reMix is deep deep deep. A speaker shaking, almost Dubby, bass dominates the track and gives Mz. Longstrump an edge of aggression. Lastly Seb Santabarbara’s mix brings a nice combination of 80’s influenced Electro and rocking Electro-House, the mixture of retro chords and dancefloor riffs give the track loads of energy.
