Masters Of The Radio’s new track

Masters Of The Radio

Cheshire SynthPoppers Masters Of The Radio are back with a brand new track.

Their first new tune for a few months, ‘Easy Now’ show they haven’t been sitting on their hands this past while. The production on ‘Easy Now’ is a lot slicker than previous offerings boding well for their forthcoming début EP ‘The Pleasure Age’. The song itself is more of Masters Of The Radio’s authentic sounding retro SynthPop. With their early Mute sound, the sound of vintage drum machines, analog drones and post-punk vocals. ‘Easy Now’ adds a catchy anthemic chorus to the mix that’ll get stuck in your head for days.

Chromeo & Hercules And Love Affair

Hercules And Love Affair are next up to reMix Chromeo’s next single, ‘When The Night Falls’.

Focusing on vintage synths, B-Boy Electro & House beats and Solange Knowles vocals H&LA’s reMix provides a nice contract to the funkin’ original and the super funkin’ Breakbot reMix. There’s even an element of Chiptune as the track progresses. If you are at all a fan of Chromeo and electronic music you’re going to love this. It’s a bit of a synth geek track, but in a way with groove.

Chromeo’s ‘When The Night Falls’ single is due to drop 25th July.

EarthMoonEarth reMix Mike Posner

MikePosner

I gotta’ be honest, I have no idea whatsoever who Mike Posner is. Is he big in the States? I had a quick listen and wasn’t impressed.

However, I do like this reMix of ‘Please Don’t Go’ from ElectroPop production outfit EarthMoonEarth. It’s got a rocking, huge, synth bass and all the flourishes in just the right places. EarthMoonEarth have got such a good grasp of both Pop and Electro Dance music and their particular combination works really well. I just wish they’d reMix something a bit less…wanky.

The Supermen Lovers ‘Keep The Funk Alive’

The Supermen Lovers

The Supermen Lovers are pretty much elder statesmen of French Touch and Nu-Disco.

This week the drop a brand new EP on La Tebwa. Titled ‘Foundation Disco’ the PE sees The Supermen Lovers bringing things back to basics, back to the funk. The lead track is ‘Keep The Funk Alive’,which takes electronic Funk to new deep dark places. Getting it’s groove on alongside chainsaw synths and Acid burbling. It’s a particularly French take on synth Funk, so expect it to have an edge. The entire EP is well worth your time.

Penguin Prison reMixed by Goldroom & Disco Bloodbath

penguinprison

Disco Bloodbath take Penguin Prison on a trip to the deep side.

This low groove, almost progressive, reMix of Penguin Prison’s ‘Fair Warning Pt. 2’ is both hypnotic and engrossing. Utilising pitched down vocals just adds to the body shaking flow of this track with just the right side of too much cowbell. Binary and NightWaves man Josh Legg’s Goldroom project’s reMix has been getting some serious mixtape love, and deservedly too. It’s grabs the track and drags it straight to the beach for a party. Summery vibes and good times are on the cards with Goldroom’s mix, full of flying arpeggios and uplifting chords.

Edwin Van Cleef reMixes MiGHty mOUse

MiGHty mOUsebpas

Oh boy, been waiting for this one! We’ve been pretty enamoured with MiGHty mOUse’s ‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ for a couple of months now, we love it’s Heaven 17 Disco vibe and ever since we were teased with Edwin Van Cleef’s reMix in his May mixtape it has been on out list of ‘things we really need to hear’.

So here it is, and it doesn’t disappoint. Cleefy brings it deep and smooth with an uplifting sunrise Disco version of Might Mouse’s first single as a full band.. There’s a nice amount of space in Edwin’s mix, it’s not cluttered or over layered, it’s got an infectious groove and gives the tune room to breathe. The distant guitar licks and and Tropical percussion conjure a relaxed vibe that presents the vocals in a new light. The whole song has a totally different, but complimentary, feel to the original.

MiGHty mOUse – Between The Pavement And The Stars (Edwin Van Cleef reMix)

‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ is released 18th July with a stellar line up of reMix talent including Mario Basanov, Edwin Van Cleef, Blamma! Blamma!, Tronik Youth, and Tareq.

Clancy’s ‘Panther’ EP

clancy

One of the UKs most exciting up-and-coming producers Clancy drops his new EP today, his first for ‘the ever-awesome Holographic People’.

The ‘Panther EP’ sees Clancy at his Dreamwave finest with three original tracks and a couple of reMixes. The title track is five minutes of synthesizer bliss. Almost Futurecop!-esque in it’s ElectroPoppiness, ‘Panther’ is retro synth perfection, from the digital bass to the uplifting 80’s chords, this is how it should be done. Noting about ‘Panther’ doesn’t make you feel good. ‘4000 Shards’ is more designed to make you move. Ironically it growls a bit more than ‘Panther’. Definitely a nightdrive of a tune, ‘4000 shards’ is the cop film to ‘Panthers’ teen movie. The trilogy is made up by ‘Bite The Lightning’, a pure retro dancefloor workout that is nothing short of genius, and easily cements Clancy’s place amongst the top producers making Nu-Disco/Dreamwave today.

reMixes are supplied by beaumont and StardonE. beaumont treats us to a nice clash between the ChipTune Disco sounds we are used to from him and a laidback piano led vibe that has us looking forward to his début EP for Holographic more than ever. Korea’s awesome StardonE add a little of his Cosmic Disco to the mix with a reMix epic reMix that plays the EP out on a high.
