New track and reMix EP from Funerals

Funerals

Funerals have just, finally, released their album of reMixes from ‘Marae’, the album includes a brand new tune too.

Alongside reMixes of ‘Marae’ and ‘Out There’ tracks from the likes of Star Eyes, Ritualz, ∆aimon and Goteki sits ‘To The End’, a brand new track which one again elevates Funerals way above their Minimal-Synth or Witch-House contemporaries. Saying that though, I’ve never really though of Funerals as either Witch-House or Minimal-Synth, they are far too rooted in ‘90’s House to be minimal synth and far to interesting (and actually talented) to be Witch-House. No, what you get with ‘To The End’ is a dark, evolving, slice of Edgy, and ElectroPoppy,  Deep House that owes to more to the pioneers of Acid and the early Warp Records sound that it does to anyone with symbols in their band name, and is infinitely better for it. OK, so it is pretty moody and atmospheric, in an enigmatic way, but what sets Funerals apart for the pack is they really understand rhythm, especially synthesized rhythm, how to program it and how to produce it and that just sees them breaking mew ground between the graveyard and the dancefloor.

Buffetlibre’s new tunes

Buffetlibre

The Buffetlibre boys stopped by the electronic rumors Inbox to showcase a couple of their new tunes.

Featuring the vocal talents of Δngelo, ‘Far From Heaven’ is three and a half minutes of slick Nu-Disco inspired ElectroPop that compliments Δngelo’s soulful vocals and Disco bassline with a layer of heavy ‘90’s House piano. It’s as dancefloor as it is Poppy and works well in either arena. It’s companion, ‘Bali Honeymoon’ is more of a straight-up Balearic affair. Both tracks come from the duo’s forthcoming new album ‘Songs For Elaine’ that features guest spots from the likes of Micah P Hinson, Peter Von Poehl, Spinto Band & Plushgun.

Dimitri From Paris reMixes Clubfeet

Clubfeet

Another reMix now from Clubfeet’s just released new single ‘Last Words’, this time the groove comes courtesy of Dimitri From Paris.

Complimenting RAC and The C90s reMixes, Dimitri takes the track down a Tropical Disco-House route. Not as ElectroPop as The C90’s version, this mix a laden with raw percussion and hammered piano giving it the air of a live jam, albeit one with some very funky musicians.

Queen Of Hearts & AlunaGeorge

queen-of-hearts1

If you’re an actually regular reader, and not just a free music leecher, you’ll know that ‘round these parts we’re definitely subjects of Queen Of Hearts as well as having a big soft spot for AlunaGeorge.

AlunaGeorge’s reMix of ‘Shoot The Bullet’ was always going to be a completely different take on the track, and a different take on The Queen altogether. The Indie-ElectroPop duo’s Dub inspired, sometimes quite experimental, laid back Pop style brings a new dreamlike atmosphere to the track that’s kept in check by a hypnotic, head nodding, beat and Dubby bass. The multiple layers of solid Downtempo rhythm section, quirky melodies and synth experimentation actually does a wonderful job of highlighting QoH’s vocal chops. Awesome late night groove.

Tyson reMixed by The Magician

tyson

More reMixes incoming of left-field ElectroPop fella Tyson’s ‘After You’re Gone’, this time in the form of a nice ‘90’s House mix with The Magician at the controls.

Relentless piano riffs are becoming The Magician’s ‘thing’ and his style lends it’s self well Tyson’s track, adding an extra layer of drama. Injecting a sense of urgency and a little tension into the song highlights Tyson’s vocal performance better than even the original.

Mustang reMixes Arnaud Rebotini

Arnaud Rebotini

What a tune! Mustang have really outdone themselves this time, after a string of awesome tracks and reMixes the Belgian duo keep continuing to impress.

Black Strobe main man Arnaud Rebotini is Mustang’s latest subject as they turn his ‘ Another Time, Another Place’ into a vocoder leaden analog Disco track with loads of early ‘90’s House influences. What we’ve got here is a solid beat, loads of mucking about with synths, and a strong piano line to lift the mood. What more could you ask for?
