Queen Of Hearts is so down with the Swedish SynthPop crew, and rightly so, she fits right in with a country where ElectroPop has always had a home (even when certain other countries forced it underground).
So, Stockholm DiscoPop producer Le Prix has worked his magic on ‘Shoot The Bullet’. It’s actually not what we were expecting from him, but infectious nonetheless. More raw, more live sounding, than you’d think of when considering Le Prix, his reMix delves deep into a rough and tumble version of late ‘70’s synthesizer Disco. It’s like a party in an analog synth factory, and everyone’s invited!

Little Boots – Shake Until Your Heart Breaks Mixtape = Boots is back! Well, not really, not yet, but let’s hope this mixtape is a precursor to her welcome return. The best thing about this 40 mins ElectroPop/Italo/DiscoPop odyssey, is that it includes a brand new Little Boots track, unsurprisingly titled ‘Shake Until Your Heart Breaks’, which proves that unlike her fellow electro-women-class-of-‘07 alumni, our Miss Hesketh hasn’t lost the synthesizer faith.

The almighty Anoraak are back with a brand new reMix for Parisian Indie/ElectroPop/Experimental/Downtempo trio sayCet.
Keeping the downtempo feel to the track, Anoraak brings his retro ElectroPop sounds to this slow jam creating at track that is both a head nodding Electro tune and something that is quite ethereal and dreamlike. The tempo actually make it sound more ’80’s than a lot of Anoraak’s previous work, if that’s even possible. This is pretty much the ultimate chill out track for synth lovers.

German smooth Electro Boogie guru Tim Bernhardt A.K.A. Satin Jackets had teamed up with the king of late night Disco Rocco Raimundo for some funky bass heavy good times.
The result of this meeting of minds is ‘This Is The Love’, a laid back Nu-Disco jam with a relaxed piano groove and a distant Disco lick. With a great, and well used, vocal sample intertwining with some sweet talkbox vocal action the track is full, but never overbearing, keeping a chilled vibe throughout. Both these guys are at the top of their respective games so it’s no surprise that the track they produced is so slick, and so smooth.

Satin Jackets’ :kinema: featuring single ‘Kick It With You’ is out at the end of the month on Mullet Records. Rocco Raimundo’s current single ‘Between The Sheet’ is out now on Bedmo Disco.

Does anyone else feel like Electric Youth should release stuff more often? They’re easily one of Canada’s finest ElectroPop exports but we hear from them so sporadically.
Take ‘Coming Right Back To You’, which we first heard a year ago and is finally available to buy. it’s a track that shows off just how clued up EY are when it comes to both songwriting and production styles in a mid-‘80’s Pop vein. It’s easy enough to recreate, or be influenced by ‘80’s music, but the era does have a particular signature when it comes to songwriting and vocal arrangement and Electric Youth have got it locked down. The production too, the use of big synth chords and the insertion of guitar, all authentically slick ‘80’s Pop. Fellow Canadian Dreamwaver DVAS sets up for reMix duties with a laid back funktastic track full of warm analog synth sounds and a delicate Rhodes piano holding up the melody.

Coming from nowhere Poolside have spent the last six months making such a name for themselves as purveyors of quality beach party Disco and smooth Dreamwave.
Their new track, ‘Take Me Home’, has the honour of appearing on Vito Aeroplane’s new compilation ‘In Flight Entertainment’ and is such a blissful, relaxed, for want of a better word, poolside jam. Built upon shuffling percussion and hazy guitar, ‘Take Me Home’ is a dreamlike mix of breathy vocals and swirling synth noises. It’s about as trippy as Disco gets.

It’s Rex The Dog‘s team up with Kris Menace! ‘POW!’
Unlike Rex’s reMix, which was pure Rex, you can really hear the meeting of styles with this original version, which actually works well. What you have here is a big dancefloor drone of a track, a tune that builds such nervous energy that when it finally breaks the crowd are gonna’ go mental. Personally I can’t wait to hear this in a club, it’s gonna’ go off!
