[Audio] Zimmer and Xinobi reMix Kamp!

We’ve been looking forward to the single release of Polish ElectroPoppers Kamp!’s Melt for a while now, eager to hear the reMixes. Discotexas dropped the package at the end of last week and the release, with reworks from Zimmer, Xinobi and Midnight Magic, has lived up to our expectations.

The original of Melt is a deep slice of retro Pop, laden with waves of dreamy synths and infectious piano, which Parisian producer Zimmer builds on with style. Grabbing the Houser elements with both hands, Zimmer folds in a little of his own brand of Tropical Disco, which he called Horizontal Disco, to create a blissful laid back track, full of popping percussion and a pool party groove. Xinobi’s mix take the track in more of a House direction, providing a deep vibe, bass heavy and playing with that piano hook. There’s a gorgeous breakdown and build in this one too. The single has a mix for every occasion, if those occasions involve good times.

[Audio] Xinobi reMixes Moullinex

Moullinex

Moullinex and Xinobi. Lisbon’s Disco mafia. Once again bringing the reMix to each others tunes. This time Xinobi’s having a crack at Darkest Night, from Moullinex’s début album Flora. A track Xinobi apparently had a hard time getting to grips with, considering it “non-touchable”, but we’re kinda pleased that he did.

What Xinobi has done here is create and absolutely epic, deep , Disco track. Whereas the original had an almost World Music feel to it’s percussion, giving it’s Bond theme vocals an eerie edge, here Xinobi plays up the drama, setting big haunting synth solos against a rumbling hypnotic groove. The soaring, theatrical, vocals pair perfectly with a restrained House beat and a mysterious late night vibe.

The king of spacey Disco MiGHty mOUse releases a brand new single at the end of the month. Which means we’ll probably be grooving to this all throughout March. On Love Is Gonna Lift You Up, the mOUse works his Cosmic magic on a bit of recent Bobby Womack with a track, already reworked by Basement Jaxx and Julio Bashmore, from his album of last year, The Bravest Man In The Universe. The idea to release it as a single, with a new vocals, was born during a Sunday lunch between MM and Cheap Thrills head honcho Hervé. We find Sunday lunches are where the best ideas come from.

MiGHty mOUse’s  take on the tune drags it straight to the dancefloor, as long as that dancefloor is out in the sunshine. This is the perfect outdoor party jam, a big feel-good track loaded with uplifting vocals and sweeping synths. Riding atop a space age Disco groove, the track even injects a little Tropical feel into the mix with a rushing Island breakdown. The single come with two other version of the track, but we’re not sure if they are going to be able to beat this Sunrise Mix’s joyous floorfilling bliss.

[Audio] More Viceroy reMixes, Bit Funk and Bufi

We’re still loving San Francisco producer Viceroy and Chela’s Dream Of Bombay single. In fact, we’re hoping that, come December, someone reminds us about it because it already feels like it deserves a place in out end of year bests. As the reMixes keep rolling in, they are definitely keeping the quality high. Right now Bit Funk and Bufi have a crack at the track and both deliver, very different but nicely complimentary version of the song.

Bit Funk delivers a glorious Disco-House tune that really plays up the dreaminess of the original and Chela vocals. If the original version is a summery beach party, then Bit Funk’s reMix is the club you go to as it gets dark. Intoxicating deep Disco. Bufi, on the other hand gets a bit more ecclectic with Chela’s vocal and turns in an Acidic Italo-Disco tune with some hypnotic pitched vocals and popping drums. This tune just gets better and better.
