You!

You! are a Parisian duo made up of Romuald Boivin (I Am Un Chien) and José Reis Fontao (Stuck In The Sound) who released their album of quirky Indie-SynthPop late last year.

Their new single, taken from their self titled début is ‘Heart’, and it has a strong line up of reMixes to accompany it. The UK’s Blue Satellite smother the track in a thick layer of funk bass on their deep, addictive grooved, Disco mix while Robotaki’s cut-up Nu-Disco Pop mix hit all the right buttons with a bit of Disco, a bit of ElectroPop and a bit of Chip Tune.

Anoraak’s ‘Crazy Eyes’ single

The release of Anoraak’s ‘Crazy Eyes’ single has been a long time coming!

Valerie’s top ElectroPop producer finally drops the third single from his awesome ‘Wherever The Sun Sets’ album. Alongside a nice looking reMix package he lets loose this Disco version of his own. Anoraak will always be here to see in the long, dreamy, nights as we start to hit some warmer weather and ‘Crazy Eyes’ defiantly does the trick. Slick, laidback ElectroPop with a Dreamwave feel from one of the pioneers of the genre.

Anoraak – Crazy Eyes (Disco Version)

The single will feature reMixes from Russ Chimes, Julien Meyer (who won the reMix competition) and Pacific! and is released on 14th March.

Krystal Klear’s OMD reMix

It’s gotta’ be said, both The Human League and OMD are really upping their game in terms of their choices of reMix artists for their recent singles. Gone is their vague, yet uneducated, nod to modern electronic music to be replaced by a real insight into what is happening on ElectroPop friendly dancefloors these days.

Case in point; Krystal Klear’s reMix of OMD’s new single, ‘History Of Modern’ is a straight-up dancefloor Nu-Disco jam awash with New Jack Swing vibes. Dropping a deep jacking bass, vocoded vocals and huge 80’s Disco chords seems so far away from OMD’s SynthPop sound yet works so well.

OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark) – History Of Modern (Part 1) (Krystal Klear reMix)

The single will be released soon on limited edition 10”, CD and digital.

Edwin Van Cleef & Chilly Gonzales

Chilly Gonzales’s ‘You Can Dance’ continues to blow up on dancefloors up and down the country. I was particularly to hear Annie Mac drop our friends Walter Sobcek’s reMix on her show on Friday night.

The original track is awesome and the reMixes are all hot as fuck, but, good grief, Mr. Van Cleef has really outdone himself this time!

Edwin Van Cleef’s reMix is a steel drum Dreamwave epic that gets it so right, from the the funking bassline to the jazzy solo. It’s so majestic you just have to bow down in it’s presence.

ZX, now Zedex, reMixes Fenech-Soler + free EP

Electro-House duo ZX have been a bit quite for a while now, since we last wrote about the them have changed their name (well, spelling at least) to Zedex (which I think is better) and, if their new reMix of their friends Fenech-Soler new current ‘Demons’ is anything to go by, have been developing a smoother, slicker sound.

The reMix rocks more of a Disco vibe than their previous, more distorted noisy House, offerings, showing a defiantly maturing of their sound. This track almost goes Cosmic in places with big, lush, synth pads washed with reverb siting atop deep, deep bassline. there is certainly something unique about Zedex’s tunes, I can’t put my finger on it, maybe there’s a little Chicago House influence in there or something. Whatever it is, it’s Nu-Disco with a twist, and I can’t wait to hear more.

Fenech-Soler  – Demons (Zedex reMix)

On top of all this, Fenech-Soler are giving away, or the small price of an email address, an EP of stripped down session versions of four of their best tunes. The White Versions EP is available here.

‘Zulu X-Ray’, Zedex’s awesomely titles second EP is out in April, Fenech-Soler’s ‘Demons’ is out now.

Electricity reMixes Jupiter

Electricity are the latest in a long line of super-secret electro producers, no-one knows anything about them and that seem to suit them fine, they’ll let their music do the talking.

Their first official release is a reMix of the new single by awesome French Disco act Jupiter. The call it Progressive Electro-Funk, sounds right to me.  The bass in this track mad as hell and as a début easily stack up against the other reMix talent on the CD, the likes of Para One & Tacteel, In Flagranti, Hannulelauri, and Blackjoy. Electricity have defiantly got his/her/their Disco on!

The Human League & Aeroplane!!!

Here it is, the reMix we’ve been waiting for. Nu-Disco pioneers Aeroplane’s reMix of the forthcoming The Human League single, ‘Never Let Me Go’.

The original version is a Robo-Pop stomper that sees The Human League sounding more contemporary than their pervious single ‘Night People’, but this reMix takes it to another level. All Vito Aeroplane’s trademark filtered Disco grooves are in there alongside Phil, Joanne and Susan. Massive chords in the chorus work expertly alongside 80’s riffs in the verses. All-in-all, worth the wait. We’ll probably be hammering this most of the summer!

Juan Atkins Vs. Oliver

Juan Atkins is The Man, I used to love Cybotron way back when, and right now one of the names to keep an eye on is Oliver, Dreamwave/Nu-Disco dup made up of U-Tern & Oligee. A track that brings the two together is more than I could have wished for.

And I love the result, it’s got it’s Disco Funk turned up so high. Cut-up talkbox vocals, laidback Funk bass, big bright 80’s synths, what more could you want? The whole EP is being given away for free by Scion A/V reMix, which is awesome ‘cos this track alone would be worth the price of an EP!

French Horn Rebellion’s ‘This Moment’, as reMixed by Jacuzzihidive

Post our remix of This Moment by our friends French Horn Rebellion! It’s fuckin’ hot!

That was basically the entire content of the email we received from Jacuzzihidive, an as much as we hate to admit it, they’re right. Their reMix is fuckin’ hot.

French Horn Rebellion’s ‘This Moment’ gets a full on analog Disco workout. Bouncing analog bass and strings give the track a new lease of life by this Las Vegas based ElectroPop trio, throw in some Moroder-esq synths and you’ve got a track that won’t quit.

It’s fuckin’ hot!
