Lissi Dancefloor Disaster’s ‘Kill The Winner’ video + TobTok reMix

Here’s the video for crazy Swedish ElectroPop cat fanatics Lissi Dancefloor Disaster’s new single ‘Kill The Winner’, a synth rocking, sing-a-long infectious slice of quirk-Pop.

Tim Erem directs this slow-speed chase scene, a scenario wich perfectly fits the tune.

While you’re here check out fellow Swede TobTok’s reMix of the track. TobTok injects the track with a slick Disco edge which replaces the abrasive, almost avant-guarde sounds of the original with some rich, warm synths and a big room Disco vibe.

Clancy reMixes Little Dragon

Break out the big synths, Clancy is back with a brand new, and deep as hell, reMix of Little Dragon’s Little Man. Rich has been working on it for a few months now, constantly tweaking like a mad musical professor, and now he’s ready to share it with the world. We’re definitely likes the progression Clancy is making as he glides from big beach-party Dreamwave tunes, to something a bit deeper, a bit more ‘90’s, as he hasn’t left behind his retro synth stylings, just folded them into a different sound, and the result is always rad.

This mix of Little Dragon rides on a deep hypnotic groove and mood setting organs. Yukimi’s vocals sound so much more soulful in Clancy’s hands, I’d even go so far as to say the beginning to take on an almost Gospel tone, as he creates a gently building track, full of subtly increasing layers washing over a thick synth bassline. It’s a true rapturous House track.

Chad Valley’s ‘Tell All Your Friends’

Oxford’s Chillwave master Chad Valley has announced a new single, and his début album to be released in November. The album, Young Hunger, sees Hugo Manuel hooking up with such luminaries as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, El Perro Del Mar, Active Child and Twin Shadow from a whole album of his particularly dreamified strain of soulful synth music.

Preceding the album comes Chad Valley’s new single, Tell All Your Friends, a shuffling slice of hazy SynthPop and broken beats. Hugo’s gentle, but impassioned, vocals work really well layered this thick as he delivers a strong vocal performance that perfectly compliments his Lo-Fi R&B-Wave. It’s a confident track, well chosen to signpost the album, and has us more eager than ever to give it a listen.

Branded James reMixes Youngblood Hawke

We got sent the reMix of LA Indie bad Youngblood Hawke’s oft-reMixed We Come Running by American producer Branded James. We know next to nothing about Branded James, and that’s only a little bit less than we know about Youngblood Hawke, so if you don’t mind we’re just going to chat about the music for a bit.

For a producer out of the blue, this track is really good. Branded James nicely marries a Nu-Disco groove with lush Dreamwave synths and a warm retro feel. We’re really not that familiar with the Indie-Folk original, but these vocals work perfectly with James’ slick, optimistic, sound. Even the production is very solid. The mix is carried by some seriously airborne lead lines and punchy synth stabs, both having a nice nostalgic vibe to them that makes it feel like these vocals, that do have an anthemic quality to them, have always been part of this track.

Plastic Plates reMixes Strange Talk

We featured Australian Indie-ElectroPoppers Strange Talk’s new single, Cast Away, a couple of weeks ago. Now were pretty excited by the fact that once of the reMixes for the track is provided by Plastic Plates, one of our favourite producers of recent years. Not only that, but the amazing reMix is a freebie!

Cast Away is a fantastic tune in it’s own right, upbeat and summery ElectroPop fun, but with the addition of Plastic Plates synth Disco sounds the track is unbeatable. The original has a hook just made for reMixing, and Plastic Plates takes that refrain and runs with it. It’s the bassline that kills on this one, PP is well versed in retro Disco bassline work and this one right here is no exception. Punchy and funky as hell, the bassline is one you just can’t help but move to. This bass excellence is layered with rich vintage synth work and Strange Talk’s summery vocal. It’s not summer anymore I think we have to admit that, but Plastic Plates’ and Strange Talk’s robotic Tropical sounds might just have you believing it still is.

NTEIBINT’s ‘Time’ EP

NTEIBINT’s Time EP, released late last month on Kitsuné Music, is the prefect call-back to the 2007/08 glory days of the pioneering French label. It;s that very specific mixture of organic Disco grooves, Indie-Electro sensibilities and Electro-House noise. This track could have quite easily been on Maison 3!

Time combines all those elements into one rolling French Electro tune that has got an instant classic feel to it, the EP comes loaded with reMixes from the likes of The Subs and Fabrizio Mommarella, and this edit from Kirsuné head honcho Gildas, who serves up the kind of dancefloor interpretation you’d expect. Increasing the ‘pump’ factor by 11, Gildas strips the track down to it’s body moving essentials and shines a spotlight (via a mirrorball) right on them, taking the track more in the Electro-House direction, Gildas doesn’t loose the Disco feel, but cranks up the un-ignorable hook until you are in it;s thrall.
