Dato

I was turned onto Dato by Disco Demons yesterday. This Danish two-piece make make modern SynthPop with a decidedly old school flavour (particularly with their basslines!) that will be right up the alley of many of our readers.

The guys have been together since 2007 paying “respect to the keyboards of the past and the ideas of the future” and this track, ‘I Don’t Wanna’’ in particular is a sweet, infections, Electro floorfiller:

Diplo reMixes Drop The Lime for B-LIVE

In retrospect, B-LIVE has sent a hell of a lot of good music our way this year. Much of that, in the latter part of the year, has been in the form of a whole heap of storming reMixes of Drop The Lime’s ‘Devil’s Eyes’

Saving the best for last, they are now unleashing this epic reMix by Major Lazer man and superstar producer Diplo. Frantic percussion underlies this summery, party, Electro banger with an exotic flavour. Rapid fire synth stabs and cut up vocals belie what is actually quite a chilled party track…it’s just a chilled party track that has the fever!

And have a go on Classixx’s brilliant disco reMix for good measure too:

B-LIVE’s next offering will be that Van She cover of ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’, along with a reMix by Holy Ghost!!!. I may actually be salivating in anticipation!!!

Fan Death; another new video!

Fan Death are really pulling out all the stops in preparation for their forthcoming EP ‘A Coin In The Well’!

This is the second video taken from the EP, it’s a weird little story. Creepy, but fun.

We also received this reMix of the previous amazing track off the EP, Reunited’ by Ccenturiess in the electronic rumors inbox. It spaces things out a bit and piles on the Simmonds toms!

‘A Coin In The Well’ is due out January 4th 2010 (my birthday!):

The Golden Filter’s ‘Thunderbird’ video

This week The Golden Filter dropped their 12” ‘Thunderbird” and here we can present the video directed by Warran Wright.

Like the ‘solid Gold’ video there are some stunning visuals at work here:

The 12” also contains this reMix by Villa, and arpeggio driven raw disco track:

Kids At The Bar evil up Ellie Goulding

The reMixes of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Under The Sheets’ are coming in thick and fast!

Kids At The Bar stopped by the electronic rumors inbox to share with us their amazing take on the tune.

An aggressive and ominous lead line dominates the mix before giving way to some powerful warping bass making the tune 100% darker. If this is dropped at a club it will command you to dance!

Fear Of Tigers

December 1st is a date for your diary, as on that day London’s Fear Of Tigers is dropping his new album…for free!

The album, ‘Cossus Snufsigalonica’, will be 10 tracks of, we can expect, original, retro-flavoured, Electro-House that you can sample with this tune ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’. It’s a full on, driving, uplifting slice of Pop-Electro-House with a kinda’ end-of-the-movie finale vibe to it.

Diamond Cut step up to the reMix plate and deliver a chilled, spacey, synth rework.

Edwin Van Cleef is Overtaken

He’s dropped some killer remixes in recent times and it’s finally time for UK Dreamwave producer Edwin Van Cleef to release his début EP, ‘Overtaken’ and it’s already getting some Radio1 love!

‘Overtaken’ is a pumping House tune washed with soaring 80’s synth. With the mainstream radio play maybe Edwin is finally bringing the Dreamwave/Valerie-esq sound to the masses!

The reMix is provided by Mille who, already this month, wowed us with his mix of Marina And The Diamonds’ ‘Mowgli’s Road’. Here his work doesn’t drop the ball, quality-wise and his name defiantly goes on the “I’ll probably like reMixes by…” pile!

He even drops some C64/SID sounds toward the end for some massive 8-bit disco!

More new Fan Death!

Here we have another sneak peek at Fan Death’s forthcoming, eagerly anticipate, EP ‘A Coin In The Well’!

‘Cannibal’ has got more of the strings 7 disco vibe that ‘Veronica’s Veil’ had compared to ‘Reunited’, the last track we heard. I couldn’t pick between the two for lead track though, I honestly can’t wait to hear the rest!

Ellie Goulding reMixes galore!

Ellie Goulding’s ‘Under the Sheets’ dropped yesterday and is destined for major success, the music blogosphere is awash with reMixes.

Here’s some of the best that have landed in the electronic rumors inbox. Baby Monster’s mix is making waves and it’s a pounding retro styled pop affair while The Knocks produce a Electro jam with a wicked big synth bassline. Pariah’s spacey Dubstep builds to an almost garage beat for it’s finale.

The Good Natured

Sarah McIntosh A.K.A. The Good Natured is currently making tiny ripples amongst the UK music press having been championed by, amongst others, The NME, The Guardian and PopJustice. Tiny ripples that are sure to grow into ElectroPop waves!

Beats that range from laidback grooves to more dancefloor and Drum & Bass tinged patterns provide the backdrop for cheap synths and Sarah’s heartfelt vocals.

Sounding a lot more raw and exiting than many of her contemporary female singer/songwriters, The Good Natured is a UK female fronted ElectroPop act who are headed for dark, dingy clubs rather than her peer’s glossy retro discos!

You can pick up The Good Natured ‘s ‘Your Body Is A Machine’ EP from either their MySpace or from Rough Trade records.
