[MP3] Rebeka’s ‘Unconscious’

Rebeka

Polish ElectroPop duo Rebeka, who you may remember from last year’s Stars on Discotexas, release their new album today. Hellada is a twelve track ElectroPop oddessy that comes out of Kamp!’s label Brennnessel, and to celebrate the release the duo are giving away one of the albums tracks, Unconscious.

If Unconscious is anything to go by, the album’s going to be areal treat. A distant, ecclectic slice of ElectroPop. With a gently synth backing, made up of pulsating bass and warm tones, the track creates a dreamlike, hazy mood with more than a little 80s SynthPop referencing going on. Iwona’s vocals glide over the song like slightly eerie silk. Loaded with surprising flourishes Unconscious brings some enigmatic, haunting, but irresistibly groovy, SynthPop into your life. Check out the album.

[Audio] Strangers’ alternate Never Enough

strangers_thumb_thumb

London brooding SynthPop outfit Strangers single, Something New is finally out, and it comes equipped with a cracking B-Side, Never Enough (recently reMixed by No Ceremony). The guys have seen fit to unleash this alternate version of the B-Side with a few new touches and vocal help from English songstress Kyiki.

This is a big, bombastic, ElectroPop monster of the stadium variety. Powerful drums, layers upon layers of heavy synths and an epic, sweeping vocal all combine to deliver a rousing opus. Dark and moody in places, with haunting piano against grinding synth bass, the track goes euphoric for the choruses with a wall of spine tingling sound. A B-side worthy of being a a single in it;s own right, you should pick up both.

[Audio] Le Matos & Electric Youth

le matos

Adding to their currently busy release schedule, the awesome Girlfriend Records have just dropped the new album from Montréal based power synth producers Le Matos. Having been released in the past twenty-four hours we haven’t really had time to sit down with it yet, but one of the eye catching tracks on the LP is Light Again, featruing a bit of fellow Canadian ElectroPoppers Electric Youth.

Light Again is pretty classic sounding ElectroPop, with a rounded Dreamwave flavour. Built up of storming dancefloor beats and euphoric synths. A driving arpeggiated bassline pins the track down and gives it it’s compelling energy, while starlight leads twinkle and play around the track. Electric Youth’s Bronwyn’s vocals sound as sweet as ever as they cry out over Le Matos’ pumping tune. All-in-all a good omen for the rest of the album.

[MP3] Moon Boots’ ‘Love Strong’

moon-boots_thumb

Stop what you’re doing, there a new Moon Boots tune in tow. the American Nu-Disco sensation had dropped another poolside slice of hot hot Disco, this time with a slick House flavour. This guy has gone from strength to strength since we’ve been writing about him, and now every new tune he unleashed garners massive attention, and one listen to Love Strong will let you know it’s attention deserved.

Big House vibes are order of the day here, with a little side of Tropical purcussion. Epic diva vocal samples and an infections piano hook give Love Strong a pure early 90s flavour. This is one of those tunes that beautiful people dance in slow motion to somewhere, in fact, if there’s a video out money is on beautiful people dancing in slow motion. Don’t you want to be one of those people?

[Audio] Fear Of Tigers reMixes A*M*E

A-M-E

There’s definitely something going on at camp Fear Of Tigers. First we get a new track last month, Golden Age, now an official reMix for hotly tipped songstress A*M*E’s new single Heartless. All this new activity gives us hopes for the long awaited release of Fear Of Tigers’ Hypnerotomachia Poliphiliout, the follow up to 2009’s Cossus Snufsigalonica.

This reMix is pure classic Fear Of Tigers too. Epic, emotional, nostalgic ElectroPop full of those big chords and intricate electronic flourishes that we love FoT for. Taking A*M*E’s R&B flavoured tune and turning it into a huge 80s Power Pop synth epic is no mean feat, but Fear Of Tigers pulls it off with style. This tune is big.

A*M*E’s Heartless is out 23rd June.

[Audio] OhYeah’s ‘Roxy’ EP

OhYeah

Germany synthetic Disco producer OhYeah has suddenly dropped a new EP, we weren’t expecting this one, but it’s certainly welcome. Complimenting his Robot Disco and SynthWave arsenal with some groovy House sounds OhYeah delivers three tracks of dancefloor synthesizer gold.

The Roxy EP kicks off with it’s lead track and namesake. A warm, peak-time, Disco-House tune with a big stuttering lead and a slick array of intertwining electronics. Euphoric in it’s approach, Roxy is definitely one to drop on the dancefloor to whip it up into a frenzy. Complete with smooth sax solo Roxy is summery vibes all round. Electric Boogie is a retro Disco epic. Flowing sweetly from huge dramatic vocal Disco House to atmospheric and introspective Space Synth and back again, hitting you with, at one point, massive undulating vocal samples and thick, buzzing synth leads and then at other times soaring solos and warm, sweeping, cosmic tones. A real dancefloor journey. Also included on the EP is Want You, a laid back Disco jam that completes this impressive package, out today.
