[Download] Final DJs reMix George Michael’s ‘Father Figure’

George Michael

Germany’s Final DJs is back in the reMix business, this time taking on another of his favourite 80s tunes. This one come in the form of a blissful rewording of George Michael’s 1987 hit single; Father Figure. Retro synth goodness to follow.

Upping the tempo somewhat, Final DJs layers on thick synth bass and a laid back Disco beat. Capturing an 80s mood with his reMix while still completely retooling the song, they deliver a bouncy, pumped up version that utilises the Gospel chorus for a full-on energy blast.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi & Electric Youth’s ‘Some Kind Of Love’

Monsieur Adi

After dominating the world with What’s Going On? and recently being announced as Beyoncé’s support DJ, Monsieur Adi finally has the world at his feet. What better time, then, to strike while the iron is hot and release a brand new EP. Adi’s forthcoming After Hours EP is set to be one of the releases of the first half of 2014 and, judging from this collaboration with Torontonian Dreamwavers Electric Youth, deservedly so.

Some Kind Of Love is an undulating and warm synthesizer epic. As with What’s Going On?, this is a reworking of an older Adi tune with the inclusion of hauntingly beautiful tones and Bronwyn’s smokey vocals to the originals bassy, dreamlike, soundscape life the track into the realms of mellow, heartbreak Pop. A swirling hazy of electronic awesomeness you just don’t want to come out of.

[Audio] Grum’s ‘Tears’

Grum

We’ve finally got a release date for the release Grum, one of our favourite producers, second album Human Touch. The album was pushed back after the overwhelmingly positive response to his single The Theme, pushed back seconds after we posted our review of the record. The album is due out in April and will be preceded by this new single, Tears, which got it’s première on Annie Mac’s show at the weekend.

Tears is pure Grum, big, euphoric, post-Dreamwave House with a lush 90s Dance groove. Chirpy synths form the tunes main hook, flowing over an Orbital-esque classic Dance rhythm section. The twisting leads and thick pads create an hedonistic mood with just a hint of the Balearic. The perfect precursor to the album, we can’t wait for both to drop.

Grum’s Tears is released 7th April, Human Touch is out 17th April.

new-arcades-band-shot_thumb

Here’s the latest tune from London based DreamPop duo New Arcades. It’s part of the Scenes EP. which is due for release later this month via. Futurecop!’s new record label We Are the Future Records. The track’s called Don’t Let Go, and this rousing slice of ElectroPop features Chloe Pamplin on backup vocals.

Continuing from where their self titled début EP let off, Don’t Let Go is an epic cacophony of shimmering synths and driving beats and anthemic vocals. It’s got the New Arcades rawness to it that sets them apart from the pack, and live sounding Indie production for richly layered SynthPop, the combination which drew us to them in the first place. Big stuff, we can’t wait for the EP.

sair

Portuguese Dreamwaver SaiR is treating us to another new track this week. Leaving Earth is the latest tune in this mans vintage Disco oddessy, but he’s not properly released anything since November 2012’s Sunfield EP; we’re hoping this recent rash of tunes means he’s planning to rectify that soon.

Leaving Earth layers on the thick synth bass heavy. Lush Disco licks and warm keys ride a gently wave over the tracks centrepiece. Jazzy solos and chiming percussive snyths give the tune a laid back inner-city feel, a mood that rolls along on some pure vintage Disco Funk. Get that new EP going SaiR!

[Audio] Ben Macklin reMixes Tronik Youth’s ‘Pain Relief’

Tronik Youth

Tronik Youth’s forthcoming new single, Pain Relief, is due to drop at the end of this month with a bunch of sweet reMixes from he likes of KiWi and Gameboyz. The pick of the pack, however, is easily this slick Disco reworking from sometime Cassette Cluber Ben Macklin. Get your shades on for this one.

Macklin’s version of Pain Relief certainly does what it says on the tin,. A soothing flow of warm synths and enveloping beats. A smooth Dreamwave feel and pumping beat combine into slo-mo dancefloor gold. A mirrorballed symphony of slick sounds, pads that wrap you in their cool and a laid back tide that whisks you along with it.

[Audio] Grum reMixes Shift K3y’s ‘Touch’

Shift K3y

Due out in April is the single Touch from London House producer Shift K3y. It’s Garage-y R&B influenced tune that comes with a storming reMix package, featuring the likes of Oxford and this euphoric monster from the one and only Grum. We’re still waiting for a definite release date for Grum’s album so we can publish the glowing review of it we wrote last year before the record was pushed back after the well deserved success of his The Theme single, but in the meantime this will more than keep you going.

Grum takes the track from it’s Urban roots and drags it straight to the dancefloor. A rising symphony of thick synths and uplifting melodies riding over s stomping beat. This is peak time madness that harkens back to the days of packed superclubs rising and falling to the sounds of Euphoric Trance, but with that Grum, emotional Dreamwave twist. Retro in it’s progressions, modern in it’s sounds, this one is hands-in-the-air all the way through. Check out Annie Mac giving it a spin.
