New tune from Boss In Drama

bossindrama

Brazil’s ElectroPop export, Boss In Drama, has been a little quiet for a while but explodes back with his new tune ‘Pure Gold’.

Washed in future Funk and electronic Soul, ‘Pure Gold’’s glitterball ElectroPop is evident from the very first synth lead and when BiD’s slick vocal kick in you know exactly what you’re in for. Straight-up DiscoPop that exists only for the good times. Having already scored official reMix work for N*E*R*S and Miami Horror, Boss In Drama is about to drop his début album, also titled ‘Pure Gold’, and it could be something really special.

Boss In Drama – Pure Gold

’Pure Gold’ is lead off single off Boss In Drama’s début album of the same name, released 10th September.

Alex Metric & Charli XCX & Russ Chimes

Stop what you’re doing, there’s a new Russ Chimes reMix in town.

Saying “Russ Chimes can do no wrong” might be jinxing it, and his next production clould be shit and it would be our fault. But it’s not likely, ‘cos Russ Chimes can do no wrong. The man smashes it again with this new mix of Alex Metric & Charli XCX’s ‘End Of The World’ from Mr. Metric’s forthcoming ‘Open Your Eyes’ album. Russ seem to build and build on this tune, constantly adding layers to the killer riff that will be whipping dancefloors up into a frenzy this summer. Bringing it down briefly with a sweet piano hook and snatches of ElectroPop kook XCX’s vocal before dropping the listener right back into body moving inanity. To say Russ Chimes can move the crowd is a massive understatement.

Cinnamon Chasers’ ‘Night Electric Mix’

Cinnamon Chasers

Cinnamon Chasers – Night Electric Mix (DJ Mix July 2011) = Deeper and more electric that his last mix, ‘Night Electric Mix’ is an amazing mix of Electro-Funk, Nu-Disco, House and ElectroPop aimed squarely at loosing yourself on the dancefloor. Get lost in the synthesizer groove!

Starsmith’s new single

Starsmith

Well, this was an unexpected treat for a Thursday morning. Alan Braxe’s Vulture Music have announced the release of ElectroPop producer extraordinaire Starsmith’s second single.

‘Lesson One’ isn’t quite what I was expecting from Mr. Smith, it’s better. The track skilfully walks a path that owes, in equal amounts, to French Touch and  LA Dreamwave.  I’m not sure if it’s actually Fin singing on the track, I know he did say he would be singing himself on his album but the vocals, subtly effected, makes up a large part of the dreamy, laidback groove of the track. Much of the tune harks back to the original days of French Touch (no bad thing!), although updated for 21st century Nu-Disco dancefloors and, of course, all wrapped up with that perfect Starsmith ElectroPop sheen. On the whole ‘Lesson One’, co-written and produced with Braxe himself, has tons more funk than I was anticipating, and this just makes me even more excited for Starsmith’s eventual album release.

Edwin Van Cleef’s ‘Don’t Stop’

evc

Not only did Edwin Van Cleef drop his new mixtape today, but also the first track from his forthcoming EP.

The long awaited ‘Never Be Alone At Night’ EP, which features contribution from Gemini Club and reMixes from MiGHty mOUse, Blue Satellite, Pharao Black Magic and Ugly Kid, contains the track ‘Don’t Stop’, a track that is has got not only a solid groove but an epic, cinematic, quality to it. With a relentless, almost EBM, bassline driving the track  onward and upward and clearing a path for the kind of chords that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and some deliciously 80’s lead lines.

Edwin Van Cleef – Don’t Stop

The EP is due out at the end of August.

Moon Boots

Out soon as part of French Express’ second compilation album Moon Boots ‘Gopher It’ was first aired earlier this week on The Magician’s ‘Magic Tape Thirteen’.

Slick, feel good, Disco with an addictive synth bassline ‘Gopher It’ wraps up a familiar vocal sample into a track so smooth you’d slid down the road listening to it. Wearing it’s 80’s influences on it’s sleeve, the track pays tribute to electronic Funk and Disco of that era more than a lot of Nu-Disco and débuts Moon Boots production skills in stunning style. This is a producer who we’re are expecting great things from.

The Human League X Plastic Plates

theleague

We’ve actually already written about Plastic Plates reMix of The Human League ‘s forthcoming single, ‘Sky’, you can read what we wrote here. But in anticipation of the single’s release next week we can offer the track for you to download.

It’s one of my favourite reMixes of the track, taking The Human League to new laidback, funky, places. It’s not often you get to hear The League with such a Disco so, for me, this track is like a meeting of everything I love. The mix has a nice piano groove running throughout keeping the energy up while retro synth stabs and the most Disco of Disco beats handle the dancefloor. this track has already found it’s way onto a few mixtapes, expect more to come.

The Human League – Sky (Plastic Plates reMix)

‘Sky’ is released 25th July, ‘Credo’ is out now.
