Tesla Boy

TeslaBoy

Tesla Boy hail from Moscow and make some sweet Vocal Electro-House with a strong ElectroPop strain running through it.

This isn’t 80’s influenced SynthPop, this is 80’s SynthPop, just accidently made in the wrong century. Fantastic FM synth leadlines layer over warm analog bass and drums to compliment Anton Sevidov’s smooth soul vocals.

Tesla Boy are currently being championed by the Valerie crew, which isn’t surprising as they have impeccable taste and Tesla Boy would fit in well in their stable.

The week in Bangers: 29:03:09

The week in Bangers: While electronic rumors isn’t strictly an Electro-House blog, we do cover a lot of Electro-House that crosses over in to our realm. So many good club tunes and reMixes surface each week we can’t (and wouldn’t) cover them all, so this is a round up of some of the best from the week that we didn’t have time to dedicate individual posts to…

DinoRoboGrafffiti

It’s a week or so old now but the Acid Girls remix of Mini Viva’s ‘I Left My heart In Tokyo’ is still doin’ it, as is FC Kahuna’s work on Noah And The Whale. Youth’s reMix of Elke’s ‘Blue Dream Lover’ is a smooth dancefloor groover in contrast to Esser & A1 Bassline’s noisy Electro/Dubstep flavoured jam. Moving into a more ElectroPop arena is Cinemax with ‘Smudged’, as reMixed be Melee Beats. Bringing things crashing back to the dancefloor is Bit Funk’s take on vitaminsforyou and this weeks big hype magnet, Warp 1.9 by The Bloody Beetroots teaming up with Steve Aoki to seriously rock the place. Finally Curtis Vodka gets made over, by electronic rumors favourites DMX Krew, into a 1988 Acid House trip.

The Twelves take on A-Ha

A-Ha

As part of a recent Norwegian promotion by Chrysler a few artists reMixed A-ha’s absolute classic ‘Take On Me’, including Brazil’s Nu-Disco demons The Twelves.

The Twelves have previously worked their reMix magic on the likes of New Young Pony Club, Groove Armada, Black Kids and, recently, La Roux.

This reMix keeps the pop structure of the original but injects it with some Electro, Disco magic.

A-Ha have announced a new album in September ‘09 and a return to the SynthPop Sound!

New Danger!

danger2

Danger is back with the soon to be release follow up to his début 12″, ‘09-14 2007′, and it was well worth the wait.

Coming like a clubbed up Jean-Michel Jarre, ’88h88 (Stage 3: the Club) is an emptive Disco journey, like the soundtrack to a retro-future. This stuff is seriously my favourite kind of Electro-house.

Entitled ’09-16 2007′, the single is out March 30th via Ekleroshock Records.

datA & Sébastien Grainger’s hit from last year, ‘Rapture’, got a noisy Electro working out from Kids At The Bar this week and Le Castle Vania took on indie hot-tickets The Virgins giving them a Disco overhaul. Fresh from reMixing Tigersapian, Kolt13 work their tricks on Girl And A Gun and we have new material from Daroc and Bloc Party with some tracks from their forthcoming reMix album by Villains and Filthy Dukes. The Fire And Reason closes this week’s The Week In Bangers in sleazy electro style with a reMix by The R.O.A.R.

Oizo reMixes Oizo

Mr.Oizo

The godfather of noisy French House Mr.Oizo has just propped his new EP, Pourriture, on Ed Banger Records. The EP features reMixes from the ‘Lamb’s Anger’ album including this one of Oizo reMixing himself.

The track, ‘Steroids’, featuring the Uffster, is a lot dancier, less abstract, than the album version with some kickin’ stabs

Mr. Oizo (Feat. Uffie) – Steroids (Mr. Oizo reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Whatever happened to Uffie? What happened to this album that was always supposed to be coming?

‘Pourriture’ & ‘Lamb’s Anger’ can be procured from all good record stores.

Good Luck At The Gunfight

GoodLuckAtTheGunfight

First off, let me make it absolutely clear, Good Luck At The Gunfight is a genius name for a band.

Secondly, you gotta’ hear this stuff. These three guys from San Francisco are attacking the whole ‘French House’ thing with the sensibilities of a Rock band, Like Justice and Kavinsky jamming in a garage.

GL@TG’s sound is awash with 80’s synth lead riffs up against alternating Rock and Dance drums A sound where sawtooth waves trade places with lush pads. One minute harsh, the next sweet.

Sure it’s demo stuff, sure the production could use a couple of tweaks (not too much though!) but GL@TG have only just started out. If they continue to rock synths as hard as they are doing now the the future could well be theirs.

Good Luck At The Gunfight could easily hold their own against the ‘big-boys’ of Electro-House.

The Filthy Dukes’ album is out tomorrow!

Filthy Dukes‘ début album, ‘Nonsense In The Dark’ hits the shops tomorrow and it’s a seriously exiting prospect.

Featuring guest vocals from the likes of Sam Dust of Late Of The Pier, The Maccabees’ Orlando Weeks, frYars, Plastic Little & Tommy Sparks it should be a clubby Electro monster with an emphasis on proper songs.

We already raved about the single ‘This Rhythm’ here, so now you can check the video.

‘Nonsense In The Dark’ will be available tomorrow from any of the below links:

The Golden Filter: ‘Solid Gold’ video

The Golden Filter have just dropped the video for ‘Solid Gold’.

Love the track, love the video.

It perfectly captures the atmosphere of the song and the mystery of the band.

The video was directed by Moop Jaw.

‘Solid Gold’ is released on 16th Febuary on Dummy.

In Flagranti album out soon

InFlagranti

March 24th sees the release of the In Flagranti album ‘Brash & Vulgar’ (April 21st for download)

Here you can check out the title track, it’s a dark electronic Disco with the typical In Flagranti vocal cuts and a storming Electro bassline.

This reMix they did for WhoMadeWho has been out a while now, but it’s one of those tunes that grows on you (on me at least!).
