Purity Ring’s new track

purity ring

It’s been a few months since we featured Canadian deep ElectroPop duo Purity Ring so it’s high time we dropped their third track, ‘Belispeak’.

It’s quite a stunning peice of work, encompassing shuffling Electro 808 beats with moody Minimal Synth-esque sounds and a truly epic vocal performance. There really is something special about the twisted innocence of the vocals working in tandem with haunting synthetics and almost Hip Hop beats.

Purity Ring – Belispeak

‘Belispeak’ will be released on an forthcoming double A-side 7” split with fellow Canadian ElectroPop outfit Braids.

Brite Futures

Ever wonder what became of Indie-ElectroPop funsters Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head? Well, they became Brite Futures (I presume for legal reasons) and are back with a brand new track.

‘Baby Rain’ is more good time gangly synthy Indie-Pop and confirms that the name change hasn’t affected their sound much. Catchy and summery, Brite Futures’ forthcoming album will, no doubt, be another collection of great party tunes.

Brite Futures – Baby Rain

Brite Future’s new album is due out 1st November.

The Scientists Of Modern Music & VanGuard

The Scientists Of Modern Music

Welsh Nu-Disco boys VanGuard have reMixed The Scientists Of Modern Music’s latest ElectroPop offering.

The single ‘Because If I die’ has been around for a couple of months now but VanGuard give it a new lease of life with their brand of twisted bass Disco. A touch of 80’s, a touch of LA Funk and loads of some of the most meticulously programmed Nu-Disco around with a feel for the dancefloor. That’s how VanGuard roll, add that to The Scientists Of Modern Music’s ElectroPop anthem and you’re onto a winner.

♫ The Scientists Of Modern Music – Because If I Die (VanGuard reMix)

‘Because If I Die’ is the first single from the album ‘A Personal Universe’, out now.

The Naked & Famous’ ‘The Sun’ video

Here’s is the new video for The Naked & Famous’ ‘The Sun’. The track is a really cool deep SynthPop track.

Directed by Joel Kefali and Campbell Hooper for Special Problems, the video is pretty NSFW. You have been warned. There is boobs. You have been prepared.

‘The Sun’ is taken from The Naked & Famous’ début album ‘Passive Me, Aggressive You’.

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead’s new album

ylhcsd

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead are releasing their long awaited self-titled record this month. In preparation, get your ears ‘round one of the album tracks, ‘Leap Of Desire I’.

I’m going to come right out and say it, You Love her Coz She’s Dead are better than Crystal Castles. Yes, there are massive similarities in sound, and I don’t care who came first, the fact is YLHCSD write better songs. You can have all the 8-bit noise and distorted shouting in the world but you get major plus points if there is an actual song to back that up, a gold star if it’s catchy. ‘Leap Of Desire I’ is a slightly Dubstep influenced ElectroPunk-out and, here’s the thing, it’s got a good riff, good melodies and catchy vocals. We’re looking forward to this album.

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead – Leap Of Desire I

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead’s album is out on 29th August and Glasstone Records.

Who Killed JR? reMix Heartsrevolution

heartsrevolution

We haven’t seen that many entries for Heartsrevolution’s ‘Teenage Teardrops’ competition yet but with this mix sent to us by South African producer Who Killed JR? the bar is set pretty high.

Completely changing the sound of the track, WKJR? French Touches things up to 11 and sprinkles on a little RoboPop. This track has it all, a funkin’ bassline, jump out of your seat chord stabs, vocoder action and when all wrapped up words really well with Heartsrevolution’s original. Good work  Who Killed JR?.

Heartsrevolution – Teenage Teardrops (Who Killed JR?’s Black Flash reMix)

Heartrevolution’s new album, ‘Ride Or Die’ is out soon on Kitsuné Music.

LCMDF’s ‘Take Me To The Mountains’ video

LCMDF (I don’t think we are allowed to call them Le Corps Mince De Françoise anymore) are gearing up for the release of their next single ‘Take Me To The Mountains’.

Here’s the video, suitably raw and raucous for LCMDF, as is the track, but insanely catch too. ElectroPop as only LCMDF can make. Really love that late 80’s Depeche Mode-esque bass in the bridges.

‘Take Me To The Mountains’ is released 12th September with reMixes from The Orb, Mad Decent, DJ Skeet Skeet, MVSEVM and Get Well Soon.

Stay Ali’s new EP

stay ali

This week saw the release of a brand new Stay Ali EP on Technofavrik (the label of one Monsieur Adi).

‘Koaligula’ is the title track and it’s a beautifully crafted slice of laid back. Scandinavian Electronica. Don’t worry, there is a solid beat in there, but it’s layered thick with lush synth organs, biting leads and haunting melodies. Effortlessly pleasing to listen to, ‘Koaligula’ is like a meeting of Røyksopp and Jean-Michel Jarre with just a hint of a nod toward the Disco.

The ‘Koaligula’ EP is out now.
