Cosmonaut Grechko’s ‘Youmi’

cosmonautgrechko

Ooo, a little bit of newness from the man Cosmonaut Grechko. He’s been somewhat quiet of late but if this new track is anything to go by that time has been well spent.

‘Youmi’ is a surprisingly blissful and euphoric slice of Dreamwave wit a bit of an early-nineties-watching-a-sunrise-in-a-field-with-Orbital-playing vibe to it and not nearly as Disco as his previous works. This is more of an atmospheric electronic side to Grechko, and the atmosphere is one of optimism and good times. A feel good tack for the summer.

Douglas McCarthy’s new single

So, if you’re at all into the history of electronic or Dance music Douglas J. McCarthy, one half of the legendary Nitzer Ebb, should need no introduction. After decades of band work and collaborations he’s finally got around to releasing some solo material, the first being this single  ‘Hey’.

Robin Nixon directs this clip, sombre to match the mood of the track which features McCarthy’s instantly recognizable vocals crooning over some deep, hypnotic Tech House.

‘Hey’ is out 9th April with the album ‘Life Is Sucking The Life Out Of Me’ on the 30th.

SevdahBABY & Djixx’s new video

Our favourite Serbian purveyor of all things big and Housey SevdahBABY is back with Djixx for his new single, ‘Izvini Dušo Izvini’.

‘Izvini Dušo Izvini’ finds the duo in a summery mood with a sure-fire hit for the warmer months and a video that sees Djixx go through more wardrobe changes that a Madonna show.

MNDR reMixed by Azari & III

mndr

MNDR’s ‘#1 In Heaven’ is one of my favourite tracks of the year so far. It’s raw, catchy and in-your-face ElectroPop, so it’s definitely a good thing that they entrusted it to someone with such a track records as deep ‘90’s Housemeisters Azari & III.

Azari & III’s reMix an epic building, hypnotic track full a massive dose of Beep House (probably my favourite (defunct) House genre). it’s chock full of rattling 909 hats, square basses, resonant synths and a moody, intoxicating atmosphere that would have killed in late ‘80’s warehouse parties. Totally different from the original, Azari & III have made a powerful complimentary track.

MNDR – #1 In Heaven (Azari And III reMix)

‘#1 In Heaven’ is out now with MNDR’s full length album due out this summer, both on Ultra.

The return of Lé Lé, this time in English

Le_Le_Press_Pic

In January we posted about some brand new, and long awaited, material from Rimer London‘s  Lé Lé. The track was ‘Neen’, an insanely catchy track despite being in Dutch.

Now Lé Lé have dropped the track in English, now translated to ‘No’, in preparation for the release of their third album ‘Party Time’. This new version is every bit as infection, the bass every bit as bouncy, the melody every bit as hypnotic, only this time us poor English speakers can sing along with it to. Rimmer London is one of out favourite producers, his analog Disco works so well with MC Faberyayo droll rhymes and addictive choruses. While you’re here check out their tongue-in-cheek cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’. Whitney never sounded so robotic.
