[Download] BeatauCue’s ‘Evola’

BeatauCue

Tempering their sound somewhat, French Electro-House duo BeatauCue are back in the game with a brand new forthcoming EP on Kitsuné Music. The Kyllan EP drops at the end of the month but before that BeatauCue are giving away this surprisingly Funky slice of pounding, warping Electro madness. Evola.

Whist calling to mind the blog fuelled Electro-House heyday of the late 2000s, Evola also folds a little Nu-Disco into the mix. With a deep ,warping bass growling it’s way throughout the track, Evola plays with Disco samples and starlight synths which somehow manage to find their way though the bass heavy groove. Peak time madness ensues.

[Audio] Eats Everything reMixes Disclosure & Mary J. Blige’s ‘F For You’

disclosure-mary-j-blige-f-for-you

Bristolian House powerhouse Eats Everything has delivered this deep and compelling reMix of the Mary J. Blige featuring version of Disclosure’s F For You. Appearing on the forthcoming single of the track, Eats Everything reMix takes the track into deep and hypnotic territories. The weekend really does start here.

At an epic seven minutes, Eats Everything’s reworking of F For You strips the track back to it’s bare essentials. Even Mary J. Blige’s vocals are minimalized to the point of being just another inurement as Bristol’s biggest House export right now slowly builds up an irresistible groove of shuffling beats and Chicago stabs. Stick around of the bizarrely gentle piano breakdown to mix things up a little before the tune crashed back into dancefloor euphoria.

[Download] Mild Peril’s ‘Excalibur’ EP

Mild Peril

London’s finest purveyor of Italo and Space Synth Mild Peril with a new three track EP is cosmic, electronic, voyages. Serving as a precursor to his forthoming second album, Excalibur delivers three tracks of what Mild Peril called “Mediaeval Synth”, and we’d call beautiful, funky, synthetic dreams. Strap in.

The EP’s title track serves up a platter of pounding Industrial beats and blissful vintage synths. The mixture of punchy sounds and hazy, sweeping keys that we’ve come to expect from Mild Peril is present and correct. Rich and emotive, Excalibur is just he first part of this journey, but one that completely enthrals over it’s seven minute length. As Excalibur  is a reworking of Sequence 1, Galatine re-treads ground covered by Sequence 2 sending it into strange magical places backed with a stomping EBM beat, peppering it with zippy synths and a bouncy European basslines, all leading up to a soaring and involving solo. First featuring on his Themes EP Mild Peril’s cover of the Game Of Thrones theme, Throne Of Swords, is given a dark ages danceable tweak with this new version, a track to surprise and delight seedy Italo dancefloors. We can’t recommend Mild Peril enough for serious synthesizer music fans.

This is the video for New York ElectroPop outfit The Adversary’s cover of Flaming Lip’s Yoshimi; which features guest vocals from Jenny Electrik from Brooklyn’s Dynasty Electric.

The clip matches the tracks Sci-Fi SynthPop sound well, rocking video effects and abstract humour in a way that’s pretty funny, but pretty bleak too.

[Audio] Ronika’s ‘Shell Shocked’

Ronika

Our girl Ronika has finally announced her long long long awaited forthcoming début album. Spoiler alert: it’s awesome. We shouldn’t really say any more at this point, but it’s easily going to be one of the highlights of the year. It’s titled, Selectadisc, after the Notts record shop, and Ron’s giving you lot a taste of what’s to expect in the form of album track Shell Shocked. Check it out.

Shell Shocked is what Ronika does best. A slightly Disco-y blend of Pop and Electro Boogie that’s deceptively complex and insanely catchy. One of the emotional highs of the album, Shell Shocked delivers some spine tingling 80s Power Pop moments amid a sea of thick synth bassed vintage Funk. With the epicness of an 80s movie soundtrack and the street groove of Electro Soul, Shell Shocked is a fine primer for what’s to come. Believe us, this is the year Ron blows up.
