It’s another new video from London based ElectroPop duo Labyrinth Ear, hot on the heels of their new single Crescent Moon. This one’s called Urchin, slightly more abstract but backed with a pulsating ethereal Italo groove you may remember from last year.

Sébastien Rippon directs the clip, set against gorgeous Parisian architecture and chilly winter.

Labyrinth Ear’s The Orchid Room is released 14th April.

Here’s the video for ElectroPop duo Labyrinth Ear’s new tune, Crescent Moon. A track we featured last month. We said it was “…magical…”. So there.

the video is a moody wander around what looks like night-time Brighton.

Labyrinth Ear

Taken from their forthcoming album, The Orchid Room, Crescent Moon is a new taste of what to expect from London ecclectic ElectroPop duo Labyrinth Ear’s début full-length record. The twosome have been steadily making waves over the last couple of years, delivering EPs of dreamy, swirling, experimental SynthPop sounds, leaving this album quite highly anticipated.

Crescent Moon is an ethereal SynthPop track that had collided head on with a Balearic sunrise House tune. Ominous, but somehow cheerful, synth bass booms it’s way through the track, providing a darkness to Emily’s light vocals. A magical tune, flowing with mysteries and dreams, but one that is also grounded enough for you to get down to on the dancefloor. It bodes well for the album.

Labyrinth Ear’s ‘Urchin’

Labyrinth Ear

It’s been a while since their pretty stunning Apparitions EP but now London Experimental SynthPop duo Labyrinth Ear are once again ready to treat our ears to some of the most interesting electronic music around. It’s been nearly a year since their last EP, but their new track, Urchin, let’s us know they haven’t been sitting on their laurels.

A mixture of chimes and deep synthetic bassline greet you at the beginning of Urchin, sounding not unlike something from BladeRunner. Such futuristic connotations are soon shed, thought, as Labyrinth Ear launch into a moody, organic SynthPop dream. Industrial percussion and ghostly synths lay out the tracks atmosphere, threatening to take the song into Goth territory, but Labyrinth Ear refrain from things from getting too pompous by keeping a very human, emotional, feel to the track. Both in Tom’s gloomy Italo dungeon music and Emily’s haunting vocal performance. Hopefully a precursor of things to come.

Labyrinth Ear’s new video

Labyrinth Ear’s Italo basslined deep SynthPop track ‘Humble Bones’ is now a visual treat too.

Minimal, but hypnotic, the video directed by Brendan Canty of Feel Good Lost is simple but very effective.

‘Humble Bones’  is taken from Labyrinth Ear’s forthcoming EP “Apparitions”, released on 7th February.
