Out this week is the new single from Blog Sound showstopper Banks who continues to tease us with hints of her forthcoming début album. The track, Brain, is produced by Shlohmo, who is apparently a person; but unlike previous collaborators such as SHON and TEED, not a person we’ve heard of. Whoever Shlohomo is, though, makes some sumptuous sounds for Banks to warble over.
Brain is an involving, deep, five minutes that’s just peppered with Bank’s greatness. Her vocals soar over the distorted backing, guiding the track through rises and falls and sweeping the listener along with her. Smooth R&B beats and a nod to LA Funk are all mixed up in this electronic melting pot. Epic stuff.

I heard about Shlohmo when he was collaborating with How To Dress Well way back in 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iBGOXwjgx4 I liked what I heard so this announcement sounded very promising to me. And it didn’t disappoint. Great track.
