[Download] Fire Flowerz reMix Route94’s ‘My Love’

route-94

Italian Disco duo have done it again with this massive new reMix of Route94 and Jess Glynne’s smash My Love. Apparently the original was just too “chill” for their DJ sets so they souped it up and gave it one of their trademark high-octane makeovers, this time injecting a whole load of piano House into proceedings. Check it out.

Dripping with early 90s vibes, Fire Flowerz mix of My Love takes Glynne’s big diva vocal and runs with it. A heavy piano hook permeates the track, hammering out its’ infectious riff over broken waves of bass heavy House. Modulating vocal snatches, as is requisite these days, Fire Flowerz deliver a full on floorfiller which we’re sure went down a storm in their sets.

[Download] Ali Jamieson’s ‘Push The Night’

ali-jamieson

One of our favourite tracks from London groovemeister and Heavy Disco label boss Ali Jamieson, Push The Night, finally saw release this week, and it’s free too. It’s featured as part of  NVMLS’ NVWLS/I compilation EP, four tracks of heavy Disco sounds with Jamieson bringing heavy doses of B-Boy Funk to the table.

Blending his trademark Jazzy Disco with a strong Bronx beat, Jamieson goes full-on Electro Boogie. Sporting a thick Italo-esque bassline complimented by wicked little Disco licks, Push The Night serves up an original head-spinner that keeps moving with mantra vocoder. This is proper vintage urban groove. Stay tuned for a special Ali Jamieson announcement in the coming months.

[Audio] Cabaret Voltaire’s ‘#7885’

Cabaret Voltaire

Long time readers of electronic rumors will be well aware of our love for Sheffield Electronic Music pioneers Cabaret Voltaire. One of the single biggest influences on our musical upbringing The Cabs are serious heroes to us. Last year they released the awesome #8385, a collection of their work from ‘84-‘85, and following on from that they are about to unleash #7885, subtitled (Electropunk To Technopop 1978-1985).

Collecting 7” singles, edits and shorter album tracks from the era the new retrospective compilation was curated by Richard h Kirk himself who wanted to present the “more concise elements of the work”. All the classic Cabs tunes from he era are present and correct, including Nag Nag Nag, Do The Mussolini (Headkick), Sensoria, Landslide, I Want You, Just Fascination and this tune, Crackdown, which also happens to be one of our favourite Cabaret Voltaire tracks of all time. If you’ve never delved into the world of Cabaret Voltaire the a) you’re an idiot and b) this is a great jumping on point. This is your history people!

[Audio] Austra’s ‘Habitat’

Austra

Torontonian ElectroPop chanteuse Austra is gearing up for the release of her brand new EP. Titled Habitat the new one will come not only in digital format, but also in a limited run of 500 12”s. Following on from her last single, Hurt Me Now, itself taken from the amazing Olympia album, Habitat sees Katie Stelmanis returning to her more ethereal roots whilst injecting a little Deep House flair.

Long time live favourite, Habitat is an undulating, tribal epic. Moody and enigmatic, the bass rumbles, the kick drives and the uneasy industrial instrumentation rattles around the track creating a magical and futuristic soundscape. Katie’s haunting vocals temper the track’s edge and instilling a cinematic, narrative, feel. A timeless slice of electronic music.

[Download] DeadstocK DisKo reMix Stevie Wonder’s ‘All I Do’

Stevie Wonder

Out next month via the awesome Nude Disco imprint is the new release from London’s DeadstocK DisKo. It’s called Do It and as a primer the Disco duo have unleaded this glorious reMix of Stevie Wonder’s All I Do and perfectly sets up the funky Sci-Fi sounds to come from these guys.

A nice mix of vintage and futuristic; DeadstocK DisKo work some slick retro synths, cosmic pads and a Moog-y lead, with a solid Funky House groove. Stevie’s instantly recognisable vocal drifts through the track, given room where needed, providing a little pizazz for the infectiously pumping Synth Disco. If this is the kind of tracks these two are going to be dropping in a few weeks time, prepare to be very excited.

[Audio] ATTAR!’s ’45 Days’

ATTAR!

Belgian synth warrior ATTAR! returns this week with a brand new single. Once again showing off his electro prowess as he recruits Induce & Santana to drop 45 Days. Out now via Eskimo Records, the single comes complete with reMixes from Douze and Rob Made and an English version of the originally French tune.

But the reMixes have nothing on the sleazy SynthPop of the original. Pulling everything from Acid House to Italo into a slightly disco influenced mix, ATTAR! has created something akin to Visage meeting Jean-Michele Jarre produced by Phuture. As cinematic as it is groovy, Induce & Santana’s duelling vocals are the icing on the cake.
