[Video] Disclosure & AlunaGeorge’s ‘White Noise’

Disclosure & AlunaGeorge’s White Noise appeared to break the internet when it first dropped, time to see if the music video will have the same effect.

Disclosure take it to Detroit and highlights just how run-down much of the city is, but music is always the cure for your mood.

[Video] Goin’ Old School: The Human League and Depeche Mode

Goin’ Old School isn’t a trip down music memory lane, it’s a mugging in the dark alleyway of nostalgia:

Two of our favourite bands this week, firstly the mighty The Human League with Open Your Heart from one of the greatest albums ever made, 1981’s Dare.

And Everything Counts, from Depeche Mode’s second best album, 1983’s Construction Time Again.

[Video] Spiller’s ‘Urastar’

This is the new single from Spiller. It’s called Urastar, it features Nina Miranda, and it;s quite a lovely slice of laid back French House and DiscoPop.

The video however, is terrifying. That is all.

Spiller’s Urastar is out now.

[Audio] OMD’s new single

OMD

SynthPop legends Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark return next month with a brand new single to precede their forthcoming English Electric album. The new release follows on from 2010’s History Of Modern album and really sees OMD getting back in their classic SynthPop groove.

The first single from the new record, Metroland, is a rousing slice of electronic Pop music. A seven minute odyssey that encompasses OMD’s entire career, Metroland revels in it’s SynthPop past, delivering a classic electronic sound accompanied by Andy McCluskey’s instantly recognisable vocals. Pure OMD, the song is just what we’d want from a new track from these guys, dramatic, robotic loaded with sparkling synths.

♫ OMD – Metroland

OMD’s Metroland is released  25th March 25, witht he album following on 9th April.

[MP3] Marina And The Diamonds’ new song

Marina And The Diamonds

Marina And The Diamonds chose Valentine’s Day, yesterday, to drop a brand new track, the fittingly titled E.V.O.L. Which is very nice of her, what’s double nice is that E.V.O.L feels like old Marina, pre-Stargate-produced-big-90’s-Trance-leads Marina. And we love it!

Produced by Liam Howe (mega-producer and the one from Sneaker Pimps who wasn’t Chris Corner), E.V.O.L is the track we’ve been waiting for Marina to release for what seems like ages. Don’t get us wrong, we quite enjoyed (most of) Electra Heart, but it was no The Family Jewels. This track feels, lyrically, the more recent, mature, Marina but sonically it’s up there with Mowgli’s Road in it’s ElectroPop quirkiness, bombast and sheer Indie excitement. Showing off everything we love about Marina’s vocals and is catchy as hell to boot. We’re hoping this is nudging herself back into a place where she sounds (to us) more comfortable. Love it. Now if we can just get Russ Chimes and Mille reMixes…

[Video] Frankmusik’s ‘Map’

Frankmusik, free of the shackles of his old label, has just dropped a free EP of new tracks, the four of which really show off Vincent for the talent that he is. Sounding more comfortable with himself, Frankmusik has releases an amazing collection of ElectroPop tunes and a manifesto for himself going forward.

Here’s the video for one of those tunes, Map, which is all very woodland, but only cements the idea that Vincent is now doing it his way.

[Audio] Charli XCX remixed by Lindstrøm

Charli XCX

You may have seen us get a little giddy about this tune last week on Google+ and Twitter. It’s out girl Charli XCX’s new single, You (Ha Ha Ha), reMixed my the space Disco man of the moment Lindstrøm. Alongside the Goldroom reMix, this is the one we were most excited about, and it doesn’t disappoint.

A little more stripped down and Housey than maybe we are used to from Lindstrøm, the track nevertheless retains all the Norwegian’s Cosmic Disco charm. Sparse and Groove, with an almost Dubby swing to it, Lindstrøm’s remix creates a woozy electronic mood into which he drops in and out swirling synths and warping bass sounds. How he manages to get so ecclectic with his pallet and still keep the vibe fun and funky I have no idea, but he pulls it off. Add to this Charli’s top vocal and you’ve got a track that lives up to the hype.

[Video] Sunless ’97’s ‘Aurora I’

Fresh faced London trio Sunless ’97 have unleashed the new video for their forthcoming new single, Aurora I. A brilliant piece of otherworldly, deep R&B ElectroPop that washes over you like warm water.

The video is very tongue-in-cheek, but quite genius with it. Like a 90s R&B video though a gritty, piss-taking London lens.

I’m also including this photo of Sunless ‘97, as it has been taken on the street I live on (as evidenced here: http://instagram.com/p/Uds-e0rJUp/). East London, what!?

Sunless '97

Sunless ’97’s Aurora I is released 25th March with reMixes from F.E.A.R. and Luke Solomon.
