Louis La Roché’s new single

Today one of the UK’s Nu-Disco champions Louis La Roché releases his new single, the Ad-Apt featuring ‘Untrue’.

Recently Louis has had no fear of playing fast and loose with styles and influences and ‘Untrue’ sees him playing about with his Disco sound, adding some rhymes and R&B vocals to create something new. The result is a track that is both incredibly funky, and incredibly commercial. With all the qualities to make a British summer hit, ‘Untrue ‘ could see La Roché gaining the mainstream recognition he definitely deserves. The B-side, ‘Touch Wood’ is a smooth as silk, straight-to-the-floor, Moog Funk/Nu-Disco collision which you’ll probably be hearing a lot from this year on late night dancefloors. Big piano and slick Disco licks see Louis keeping it tight, oh and it’s got a killer solo.

Louis La Roché will be treating London to a headlining DJ set at this month’s Human Error at 93 Feet East. He’ll be spinning some tunes alongside the likes of Phonat, The Young Punx, Bobby Tank and Discosocks, all playing live as part of Human Error’s hook up with MofoHifi Records in a night that is not to be missed. Niceone matchmakes Louis La Roché & The Jets

I honestly don’t know if this is amazing or ridiculous, although I do have a massive soft spot for The Jets ‘Crush On You’. Apparently so do Niceone, who hammered that vocal into Louis La Roché’s ‘Los Angeles.

And it works, it probably shouldn’t, but it really does. The track makes you smile, them makes you laugh, then you find yourself getting into it, then you can’t stop listening to it. It’s terrifyingly addictive.

Hot on the heels of his current proper single, the double A-sided ‘Gimme Gimme’/‘The Wall’ Mr. Louis La Roché is in such a good mood he released another new single for free on his SoundCloud.

‘Los Angeles’ is pure Nu-Disco gold. La Roché shows off his flair for picking and manipulating samples here at it’s finest with a wicked vocal hook and some blazing horns. All backed up by LLR’s shuffling synth Disco groove. There’s even a special B-side edit that mixes in a little bit of something very familiar…

Shiny Disco Club’s Millennium Disco Vol 2!

We’ve been eagerly awaiting this for a while around these parts! Shiny Disco Club’s first ‘Millennium Disco’ compilation stayed on our playlist for months, it was crammed full of some of the best Nu-Disco around, but now, with volume 2, they really have outdone themselves.

It would be insane for me to go through all 24 tracks with you, suffice to say some of the hottest producers in Nu-Disco and Dreamwave have contributed works and the whole album is like the best summer beach party you’ve ever been to. The utmost respect has to be given to Shiny Disco Club for getting this lot together.

Did I mention it was absolutely free?

Louis La Roché‘s new video for ‘The Wall’ is a nice companion to the ‘Gimme Gimme’ (it’s double A-side companion) clip.

I actually think this one is a little more interesting and has got more of a fun summer vibe that goes perfectly with the Nu-Disco stormer.

Louis La Roché reMixes Switch

Some massive retro sounding Disco-House right now courtesy of Louis La Roché’s reMix of Switch’s ‘I Still Love You’.

La Roché takes the track from the Major Lazer guy and turns it into a big room tune that mixes up Nu-Disco and early Chicago House. R&B singer Andrea Martin’s vocal lends itself really well to this anyway, and Louis takes this big diva vocal and runs with it resulting in a track that is as warm as it is full.

And once again Shook rock it. reMixing Louis La Roché’s new tune ‘The Wall’ his laid back DiscoPop slides effortlessly into your brain.

One again Shook employs the Funk style Electric Piano with his beats to produce this smooth, chilled, late 70’s groove that works so well with his Disco basslines. It really is Shook’s playing that is the star of this reMix, I could easily listen to a whole album of his tinkling the ivories.
