Kentucky based producer Amtrac is back with a storming new tune which nicely combines everything that you imagine might be good about the current crop of American dance music (no, I’m not going to say ‘it’) and applies it to some neat European House sounds, resulting in something that’s as euphoric as it is groove, and doesn’t piss all over the US’s deep electronic music heritage.
Enlisting the help if Posso on Don’t Know, Antrac drops a selection of popping electro Toms, House organ and a bassline that warps in and out of your mind over shuffling hats and a solid kick. The warehouse vocal snatches are just the icing on the cake for this summer festival monster. Acquire some dancing shoes, right now.

Here’s the video for V V Brown and Kele Okereke’s Faith, a buzzing and enveloping synthetic tribal Pop song that’s been getting a lot of play recently.
The Kele-less clip is a stark, monochrome, V V Brown study that works well with the beautiful simplicity of the track.

Some classic House sounds right here from Boston producer Dusty Digital as he sets to work turning-in this retro dancefloor version of SynthPop legends Pet Shop Boys’ It’s Alright. He’s morphed the anthemic Pop of the original into a glossy, seven minute, warehouse epic that just keeps on going and going, building and building.
Serving up heavy beats and a thick, Italo-esque bassline, alongside an infectious Piano hook. Dusty Digital creates an authentic early 90s House Pop sound which feels in-keeping with the song (which saw a 1989 release). Once he;’s let the original song play itself out, however, Dust then descend into a total synthesizer freak out, a cosmic voyage through soaring solos, all still set to the Chicago House style backing. It’s a track of two halves, both of them awesome.

Indonesian outfit Mjolnir’s new single Just A Boy was released this week on Jerry Bouthier’s Continental Records. We already posted the JBAG dub of the track. Now it’s time to check out what Canadian Housemeister Pat Lok has in store for the tune. It the mix we were most looking forward to hearing, Pat’s been on a roll recently, and he’s kept it going right here.
Taking the track deeper and groover than the JBAG’s version. Lok drops a warm summertime sound comprising a solid beat, and fidgety but utterly infectious subby bassline and layers of Tropical keys. The end result is somehow more laid back, yet more dancefloor destroying that the excellent original. That’s the magic of Pat Lok

This is the second video from the new Sarah Blackwood-less Client. As far as we’re concerned the jury is still out, but we’re pleasantly surprised. Refuge is all rampaging arpeggios and Ladytron-esque folky vocals from new Bristolian Client Nicole Thomas (and having a Bristolian Client is pretty awesome) delivering sweeping Pop choruses. A good start.
Carlo Roberti directed the enigmatic clip, with a nice muted colour pallet and tons of drama.

Neatly blending Tropical vibes and a slick retro SynthPop flavour, Make Me Feel is a nice mid-paced jam that would sit equally at home on by the poolside or on Top Of The Pops in 1986. With elements of Synth Soul, particularly in the bassline and vocals and an uplifting Island Disco chorus, it’s a track that will force a smile onto your face. Nude Disco ups the tempo a tad whist keeping the retro groove, injecting punchy snyths and an array sweeping club hooks. Covering everything from Italo to Nu-Disco via ElectroPop, the single package is strong as hell, you should definitely investigate.
