Young Galaxy reMixes Johan Agebjörn & Le Prix

We already dropped Johan Agebjörn collaboration with Le Prix and Lake Heartbeat a couple of weeks ago.

Check out this reMix of the track, ‘Watch The World Go By’, that doesn’t appear on the single. It’s by Young Galaxy and it ditches the banging Nu-Disco and Dreamwave of the original and it’s reMixes in favour of a chilled, Indie, sound that just proves the song  itself is so strong it can ride any genre, and tempo. A lazy Sunday track this reMix turns ‘Watch The World Go By’ into a reverb washed Chillwave epic.

Cosmonaut

Space-age DiscoPop trio Cosmonaut  jumped into our consciousness with a track on the forthcoming Kitsuné Maison volume 11. We’ve already featured their track ‘Say What You Want’ with it’s organic, analog synth laden, Cosmic  sound, so let’s hear a little more from this Australian three piece.

Frankie Barretso got his hands on ‘Say What You Want’ and introduced these three Cosmonauts to an alien machine society with an arpeggio driven track that eschews the live feel of the original for pure robo Funk. ‘Jupiters’ and ‘Terminator Sky’, two original tracks from the trio, are both the same kind of live ElectroPop jam as ‘Say What You Want’. The Sci-Fi subject matter and electronic nature of the music given a human feel and a rawness that makes it feel, at the same time, more accessible yet more epic.

This truly is the soundtrack to your voyage home!

Cosmonaut – Say What You Want (Barretso reMix)

Cosmonaut – Jupiters

Cosmonaut – Terminator Sky

‘Say What You Want’ appears on the ‘Kitsuné Maison 11 ‘The Indie-Dance Issue’’ followed by the ‘Cosmonaut EP’ release on Young Mine. Cosmonaut also have a double A-side single, ‘One Dancefloor’/’Erroneous Monk’, incoming on Bang-Gang Twelve Inches.

Holy Ghost!’s ‘Wait And See’ video

Holy Ghost!’s new video for their single ‘Wait And See’ stars Misters Millhiser and Frankel senior. As in Holy Ghosts! Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel’s respective fathers.

Directed by Ben Fries the video sees the Holy Ghost! elders living the NYC lifestyle, going clubbing, getting a band rehearsal down, chatting online with Classixx. I think Nick’s dad has pulled?

‘Wait And See’ is out now on DFA, it’s an awesome slice of NYC flavoured Indie-Disco.

TEED’s new single, ‘Trouble’

As premiered on Friday on Annie Mac’s show this is the forthcoming new single from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Now signed to major Polydor, TEED is planning to release his début full length album at the end of the summer with trouble as the introduction to his new work. Completely immersing himself in the role of vocalist, ‘Trouble’ sees TEED singing throughout the track lending in introspective and heartfelt quality. The tune is suitably bassy and loaded with 8-bit melodies to compliment the deep techy undercurrent. TEED’s usual eclectic sound base applies.

Digitalism’s new single

I’m a day late on this. Sue me!

The internet is up in arms about Digitalism’s new single, the divisive power of an electronic act sounding all Indie! I don’t see what the shock is, it’s not the first time the German duo have made guitar music. ‘2 Hearts’ is pretty guitary, but does have a strong synth backing and is insanely catchy. The track actually reminds me a lot of Does It Offend You, Yeah?. The track is taken from Digitalism’s forthcoming new album ‘I Love You Dude’.

Digitalism – 2 Hearts

‘2 Hearts’ is released 13th June with the album following on the 20th.

Computers Want Me Dead

Computers Want Me Dead are a New Zealand duo who build upon the Antipodean Indie-ElectroPop sound to create and exciting, upbeat sound of their own. They released their début EP last month.

Their self titled EP contains four tracks, two reMixes and an instrumental that will leave you wanting more. The duo consisting of Sam Harvey and Damien Daniels take elements of the Modular strain of Indie-Electro and put their own retro inspired spin on it. With really catchy songs, like ‘In Your Blood’, some dangerously powerful synth sounds working in harmony with a smoother Disco backing, and a cool that oozes from every song CWMD are certainly destined for great things.

This is pretty much what I’m listening to for the rest of the day, the sun is out and this is the prefect soundtrack.

What have Substatic been up to?

Well…holed up in some kind of Substatic bunker writing tunes, that’s what.

After extensive gigging their highly recommended début EP for the past year (and, I presume, taking a couple of months to get over making it into electronic rumorstop 5 tracks of 2011!) it was time for Bristol’s finest Electro trio to get their groove on and look to their next release. They have let two demos form their next release into the wild via their SoundCloud page. The first to see the light of day was ‘Bloodlust’, a laidback, slightly Dubsteppy, tune with an air of tension running throughout, but in instrumentation and Colleen’s borderline lamentation vocal delivery. Then there is ‘Gold’, a track that deserves to be played loud. ‘Gold’ is an in-your-face Electro beast, Substatic have assimilated both Dubstep and Electro-House’s synth work and sprinkled it with an ElectroPop sheen. ‘Gold’ will defiantly be one of this summers anthems.

Bearing in mind that these are both still works-in-progress, it seems Substatic’s next release will be something to get excited about.

Is Tropical ’s new single

We have another track for you here from the forthcoming Kitsuné Maison 11 ‘The Indie-Dance Issue’.

Is Tropical feature on the record with ‘The Greeks’. It Tropical have been a bit hit-and-miss for me previously, but this track is a really cool Indie-Electro romp from the London mystery trio. Their are currently gearing up for the release of their début album in June, produced by the band themselves alongside Jimmy Robertson and part-mixed by Lifelike, and if this track is anything to go by it could contain some pretty raucous anthems for 2011.

Is Tropical’s début album ‘Native To’ is released on 13th June, the Maison 11 is out 16th May.

Polarsets & Channel Swimmer

Warning…play this track on a summery day and you may never awake from your come of smooth.

Polarsets are Kitsuné Music’s latest offering, their single ‘Sunshine Eyes’ appears on the forthcoming Maison 11 compilation alongside a single release in it’s own right with reMixes from Jensen Sportag, Kid Adrift and Skies. This reMix is an extra treat though (although why it’s not on the release is beyond me, it’s probably the best mix of the track around). It’s by Welsh DJ/Producer Mathew Mayes A.K.A. Channel Swimmer who bring in the downtempo loops and a killer rolling bassline with a silky covering of Disco strings.
This is the kind of track that really does make you feel like everything’s gonna’ be alright.
