Young Digerati cover Werewolves Of London

The last of Young Digerati’s trilogy of Halloween cover versions finds them attacking cover of Warren Zevon’s ‘Werewolves Of London’.

Beautifully turning the 70’s glam rock track into some slick ‘80’s DiscoPop, I can’t help but think that the track works better like this. This is easily mid-‘80’s horror-comedy soundtrack fare, probably featuring a bratpacker and out just in time for the holidays.

young-digerati1

Young Digerati have dropped their second Halloween cover version in the lead up to the weekend.

Next up it’s The Cramps ‘Goo Goo Muck’ falls prey to Young Digerati’s synth workover. This time around things are a little more Dreamwave that their cover of ‘Monster Mash’, maybe the covers are designed to be played at different times throughout the night and this is defiantly a track for one your Halloween part’s in full swing. I’m sure YD are having fun with these!

G.L.O.V.E.S. reMixes Gold Fields

Gold Fields

G.L.O.V.E.S. is one of those producers we just never hear enough from, I swear every one of his productions has completely nailed it.

The same goes for his latest work, a reMix of, fellow Australian’s, the Indie band Gold Fields. Just check out that bassline, pure big Moog Disco Funk, laying down a solid backing for some really unique parts. G.L.O.V.E.S. stands out from the pack with a whole load of interesting riffs and sounds that play off each other in the mix, all of which perfects matches the tone of the song and the reMix effortlessly follows the vocals making them sound like the were always supposed to be together.

Young Digerati cover Monster Mash

As you’ll well be aware it’s Halloween this weekend, and to get your spirits up (was that a joke? I’m not convinced) Bay Area ElectroPop fourpeice Young Digerati have only gone and covered Bobby Pickett’s ‘Monster Mash’ haven’t they!

Honestly, there’s not a lot you can say about this really. It’s the Monster Mash with some nice synths, it sounds exactly like you’d expect, and it’s a lot of fun. So stick this on for your synth Halloween weekend while you’re working your way up to some John Carpenter.

Cadillac’s self-titled EP out now

Cadillac

Australian Indie-Electro/DiscoPop/Chillwave trio Cadillac’s self-titled EP is out now on Future Classic.

The whole record just oozes summery good times. A Slick mash-up of Disco licks and Drums with Synth Funk bass and retro keys. Add a hint of Indie-Electro guitar and some of the coolest, evocative songs you’ve heard in a while and you’ve got a killer EP. This is ‘80’s aspirational stuff, beaches and the best that include both friends and a flecked suit jacket with the sleeves rolled up. Tesla Boy’s Anton Sevidov even makes an appearance at the party, you know you’re cool when that happens!

Anoraak reMixes sayCet

SayCet

The almighty Anoraak are back with a brand new reMix for Parisian Indie/ElectroPop/Experimental/Downtempo trio sayCet.

Keeping the downtempo feel to the track, Anoraak brings his retro ElectroPop sounds to this slow jam creating at track that is both a head nodding Electro tune and something that is quite ethereal and dreamlike. The tempo actually make it sound more ’80’s than a lot of Anoraak’s previous work, if that’s even possible. This is pretty much the ultimate chill out track for synth lovers.

Adrian Lux featuring The Good Natured

The Good Natured

Adrian Lux  has created beast of many faces with his new track alongside The Good Natured.

On the one hand ‘Alive’ is a big progressive monster that veers into Ibiza hands-in-the-air territory. Which seems at total odds with Sara’s often dark, moody, impassioned vocal style and lyrical content. But y’know what? They’ve made it work and the end result is actually pretty powerful. Sure, the lead sound in the chorus is ultimate cheese, but by the second time it comes around you’ll be pumping your fist in the air with the best of them.

The ‘Alive’ single is out now with a reMix package featuring Albin Myers, Blende and Adrian Lux & Style Of Eye to follow.

Walter Sobcek’s ‘Miami’

waltersobcek

Here it is, the long, long, long awaited new single from French Dreamwave/ElectroPop outfit Walter Sobcek.

‘Miami’ may have been released just as Summer is drawing to a close but within the first minute you’re put straight back into a long summer nights frame of mind. ‘Miami’ is pure, smooth, ElectroPop which leans a surprising amount on acoustic guitar, but this just adds to the hazy nostalgia of the track. Pharao Black Magic are amongst the reMix contributors. their effort brings more of a solid synthesizer Disco vibe to the tune and makes for a nice dancefloor compliment to the originals beach groove.
