The Opiates is the some time collaboration between our favourite Electro Diva Billie Ray Martin and Norwegian musician Robert Solheim.
The are gearing up for the release of the ‘Rainy Days And reMixes’ EP in September ahead of their first full length album ‘Hollywood Under The Knife’ later in the year. The lead track from the EP, ‘Rainy Days And Saturdays’ is a beautiful lament over nostalgia that never existed. With hints of electronic Trip-Hop and a moody synthetic atmosphere tempered by a strain of hope in Miss Martins vocals. The EP comes chock with reMixes, including Kim Ann Foxman’s take on ‘Jalousies And Jealousies’ that got support from Vito Aeroplane in his last mixtape and Industrial legends Chris & Cosey’s deep Acid SynthPop version of ‘Anatomy Of A Plastic Girl ‘/

It’s been a live favourite for a while now, so ‘Don’t Fuck With My Money’ was a good choice of Penguin Prison to tease his forthcoming album.
‘Don’t Fuck With My Money’ is such an evolution from his BedroomPop of old. Whist it keep s that intimate, low key vibe, the production is big Disco Funk layered Indie-Electro. This is a true good times anthem, funky and funny. Listening to the studio version it’s easy to understand why this track always goes down so well at shows.

Radio INK haven’t graced the pages of electronic rumors for a while now, but their new reMix package for the ‘Rocket’ single…oh my god!
I honestly don’t know where to begin, nine reMixes, all top quality. Let’s take a look at some of the best. Bit Funk kicks things off with one of his best to date, a deep bassed DiscoPop tune that works the best of Disco and Pop to their fullest. Moonchild rocks his synthesizer disco for an upbeat track that I believe samples Freeez’s ‘I.O.U.’, or contains a riff that sounds just like it. Neon Workout bring a more retro Dreamwave flavour to the package. The 80’s sounds in this Mix bring out a whole new side of the vocal track. Koobra (from Helsinki 78-82)’s sweeping SynthWave take on the track turns the tune into a retro ElectroPop epic with an instant classic lead line.

Karin Park is a Swedish singer with one foot in the Pop and one foot in the avant-garde.
Taking cues from the likes of The Knife and Fever Ray, those deep Scandinavian beast and spooky instrumentation are present but also a Björk-esque Poppiness rides alongside. Mixing up a dubby warping bass with twinkling melodies catches the attention of both body and mind. Park’s unique impassioned vocal delivery is just the icing on the cake.

Follow @electronicrumor‘Broken Hearted’ is the third video stemming form the ‘Gold On Gold’ collaboration between Indie-EelctroPop producer Clubfeet and filmmaker Alex Goddard.
It’s a cool, deep, ElectroPop track and the accompanying video is a nicely shot dreamlike narrative.
