Moscow Youth Cult reMix Swimming

swimming

A Nottingham soundclash for you now. We’ve been waiting for new material from noisy and abrasive ElectroPop outfit Moscow Youth Cult for a while and they haven’t disappointed with this reMix for fellow Nottingham denizens Swimming’s forthcoming single ‘Neutron Wireless Crystal’.

MDC have an amazing knack for creating noisy, almost experimental, tunes but never letting them run away from them. their tracks tend to be gritty and raw and full of ideas but always kept restrained within the bounds of a good song. With ‘Neutron Wireless Crystal’ they have that to work with and the end result is something that sounds totally fresh, quite abstract, but still and actual song.

Database Vs. Empires

database

I was kinda’ taken by surprise by this team up of Electro Disco duo Database and  Empires.

I’m not sure what I was expecting but this massive stadium Nu-Metal track made electronically really shouldn’t work, but it really does. The combination of Database’s knob twiddling synth grooves and huge Rock vocals is pretty unique, maybe takes some getting used to, but is a powerful combination.

Mr. Gonzo reMixes White Bamby

White Bamby

Mr. Gonzo has stopped by the electronic rumors Inbox with his latest cut, a reMix of White Bamby’s ‘On The Sand’.

Bringing a nice load of dirty Electro Disco to the tunes beach vibes Mr. Gonzo injects some of his slick Parisian noisy groove into the nostalgic ElectroPop tune. Dominated by lush ‘80’s-esque chords that lift the track to a point where you can’t remember anything bad happening ever. It’s just about the party.

Saint Saviour reMixed by Behling

Saint Saviour

Here we have Behling’s eclectic ElectroPop reMix of Saint Saviour’s current single ‘Red Sun’.

Behling drops a whole melting pot of interesting ideas into his mix. From the inaccurately programmed machine percussion and the analog bass to the layers of sound effects and flourishes, all the elements of this mix come together to create something that’s is both danceable and fascinating to listen to. add Saint Saviour’s beautiful vocal into the mix and you have an electronic otherworldly adventure you can dance to.

Moustache Machine reMixes Billy Idol

billy_idol1

It appears to be a day of ‘80’s reMixes!

I approached this reMix of Billy Idol’s ‘White Wedding’ with some caution, this could have been a total cheese-fest. Thankfully Moustache Machine never stoops that low, what he does instead is give us an awesome ElectroPop version of the track. Cold digital sounds lend the track and extra air of tension that builds until the fat distorted Electro synths join the party. It all works surprisingly, and wonderfully well with Mr. Idols instantly recognisable vocal.

Quinten 909 & Mayhem’s ‘Work It Out’

quinten909

Not stopping for breath after his appearance on Millennium Disco Volume 2, Quinten 909 teams up with Mayhem to drop a bran new single on GrooveTraxx.

‘Work It Out’ breaks out that most wonderful of inventions, the talk box, to add some Chromeo-esque Funk to their Disco mix. All the elements are present and correct, from the Moogy sliding bassline to the twisting synth solo this is some top ElectroFunkPop. Amongst the reMixes on the single, Xinobi makes his mark in his usual raw Disco way. Showing of his multi-instrumentalist skills drops a slice of live Disco, rocking everything from bass to added vocals.
