Filthy Dukes’ rhythm

filthydukes

9th March is a date for your diary, ‘cos that’s when Filthy Dukes‘ ‘This Rhythm’ comes out, and its seriously good.

Featuring Late Of The Pier‘s Sam Dust on vocals ‘This Rhythm’ is a huge slice of 80’s influenced ElectroPop. Sam’s vocals are the perfect counterpoint to Filthy Dukes Numanoid disco.

ReMix duties are covered by Emperor Machine, Toddla T & Fred Falke.

The Golden Filter

the-goldenfilter1

The Golden Filter have been reMixing like crazy recently, hitting up the likes of Cut Copy, Little Boots & Empire Of The Sun, and now they are ready to drop their début single.

The track itself had been around for a while now and is a chilled Disco stop-starter.

♫ The Golden Filter – Solid Gold (zShare) (MediaFire)

Judging from the photo above The Golden Filer have lifted their identity embargo, hell the mystery didn’t hurt their promotion!

‘Solid Gold’ is released on 16th Febuary on Dummy.

CHEW LiPS

chewlips1

London ElectroPop heroes CHEW LiPS get their first 12″, ‘Solo’, released by Kitsuné Music on the 23rd March.

Kinda’ like Crystal Castles joined by Peter Hook and Róisín Murphy, CHEW LiPS’ rise from ‘just formed’ to ‘getting bigged up by BBC radio and signed to Kitsuné’ has been sickeningly fast 😉 . All deserved though!

CHEW LiPS are yet to début, but when they do I’m sure you will be able to pick up their stuff at the usual spots.

M.I.A. new song-ish

mia2

Well, not really a new song.

Death To The Throne, last seen reMixing Lykke Li have put together this grinding Electro Dubstep Mash-Up/reMix of M.I.A.‘s ‘Bucky Dun Gun’, ‘Pull Up To The People’ and ‘Jimmy’.

Sounds great actually, and new tunes is new tunes!

♫ M.I.A. – New Song (Death To The Throne reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

It’s called ‘New Song’ because, in Death To The Throne’s own words:

“1. It’s made up of small bite-sized chunks of 3 different M.I.A. acapellas; therefore would be far too difficult to write “Bucky Dun Gun” + “Pull Up To The People” + “Jimmy (Death To The Throne Remix)…aka “Bucky Dun Pulled Up The Gun On Jimmy” or something.

2. (God forbid) that if M.I.A. were to ever die, her record label would probably pump out regurgitated crap like this all day long i.e. Tupac, Biggie, etc..

3. It’ll be funny seeing people go ape shit over a post containing the words “New M.I.A. Song.””

Fair enough.

Click, click, ker-ching!

Ladyhawke: Back to Paris!

ladyhawke2

Pip’s back! Well…re-released anyway, with a shit-load of new reMixes.

On March 2nd Modular Recordings re-release Ladyhawke‘s ‘Paris Is Burning’ on 7″ and digital with piles of new reMixes by such names as Matthew Dekay, Simmons & Christopher and Innerpartysystem. The digital format also includes that cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Womanizer’.

Try this taster of the Simmons & Christopher mix for size.

♫ Ladyhawke – Paris Is Burning (Simmons & Christopher reMix) (Clip) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Suits you sir?

In a break from tradition the cover features a dog (or wolf?) rather than the usual cats…I get the feeling she’s fucking with us!

You don’t need me to harp on about how good Ladyhawke’s début album is again…it just is!

Pip gotta’ eat y’all:
