It was the future, or 1983. Technology was either going to destroy us or save us. Trans-X’s ‘Living On Video’ was all about synthesizers and stuff! Can you imagine?

Follow @electronicrumorHere we have another reMix of Lazydisco’s ‘More Tigers’ to celebrate it’s release today.
This time Japan’s own Astrolabe step up to the reMix plate and deliver a smooth Disco groove with a tiny bit of 90’s House flavour. Alongside reMixes from In Flagranti, C90s, Xinobi, Mirror People, MODE and the Coupons reMix we posted last week this mix stands with a nice 80’s bassline and some sweet chilled vocoding. The whole release is definitely recommended for these long hot nights.

Follow @electronicrumorThis is the video for Joakim’s new single ‘Forever Young’.
It’s a nice bit of summer Indie-Electro introspection, Joakim says the track is “a song for all the 30-something-year old people out there”.
‘Forever Young’ is taken from the forthcoming album ‘Nothing Gold’, released 20th September on Tigersushi.

Follow @electronicrumorStraight from 1984, here is both Laura Branigan and co-wirter Raf’s versions of ‘Self Control’, both blew up in Europe that year but only Branigan’s made any impact across the Atlantic. I can never decide which version I prefer but both are definitely better than the subsequent covers.

Follow @electronicrumorNew York Minimal Synth duo Xeno & Oaklander’s released their new single, ‘The Staircase’, this week. An arpeggio fuelled synthesizer lament, the analog electronics conveying just as much frustration as the lyrics. Still, the track isn’t nearly as cold as the outfit’s previous offerings, ‘The Staircase’ is almost warm and dreamlike, if a little edgy.
The Taryn Waldman directed video is a grainy, stark, haunted journey through an 19th-century Brooklyn tenement building.
‘The Staircase’ is taken from Xeno & Oaklander’s forthcoming new album, ‘Sets and Lights’, which drops 11th October via Wierd Records.

Follow @electronicrumorCordova, that is a project from Nu-Disco genius U-Tern and friends.
In his own words the track is “…a song I wrote with my friends AJK and Roxy, we never got around to releasing it officially, enjoy!”, my words for the track would be ‘fucking awesome’. Despite being a year old this track is so fresh, the perfect blend of Nui-Disco and ElectroPop. Literally the best thing I have heard all week, lush vocals and dirty vocoding over a solid Discofied Pop track, what more could you want?
If you dug that, check out more from U-Tern.
