ODahl gets soulful

odahl

ODahl has given us something truly soulful with his latest tune.

Loaded with Soul and Disco samples, that I couldn’t tell you where originated, ‘Soul Music’ works the vocals just as hard as the synths. Weaving Motown harmonies and vocal solos into the track, then layering them over his rich synth Funk, ODahl really proves himself to be at the top of his game, giving us something chilled and Funky in the process.

Housse De Racket reMixed by Robotaki

Housse De Racket

Parisian Indie-ElectroPopsters Housse De Racket’s ‘Roman’ has been knocking around for a while now, with q few reMixes to it’s name. Is there room for one more? There is if it comes from the Canadian who’s name is on every-blog-body’s lips, Robotaki.

Robotaki goes big with this mix, as he tends to do. There’s some really fat sounds lurking around here, both in bass and chords, spacing out the track. With a touch of Funk, a touch of the epic Indie vibe of the original and a touch of dancefloor smash worming their way into Robotaki’s full ElectroPop sound, the whole kinda’ lifts the track, bringing out the emotion, and the groove, of the song.

Housse De Racket – Roman (Robotaki reMix)

Robotaki is in the process of finishing up his début EP due out in 2012.

Fare Soldi reMix Gigamesh

gigamesh

If you haven’t already picked up Gigamesh’s new self-titled EP rest assured it comes highly recommended for putting some groove in your weekend.

In celebration of the recent release Italy’s madcap Disco heads Fare Soldi have dropped their reMix of ‘So Intense’ that features on this weeks full reMix package release. The track is classic Fare Soldi, only the most powerful and in-your-face Italo influenced Disco-House, with a sense of fun. When the bassline kicks in you can’t help but move, and grin, to this.

New video from Canyons

Canyons new video for their ‘See Blind Through’ is as much of an early ‘90’s house affair as the song itself! The track features a splash of Nite Jewel’s Ramona Gonzalez.

Director Daniel Brereton must have been studying videos from everyone from Orbital to Soul II Soul!

‘See Blind Through’ is released 14 November on Modular Recordings.

Metronomy’s new single

Metronomy

Indie-ElectroPop darlings Metronomy’s new single ‘Everything Goes My Way’ come complete with a hold host of pretty awesome reMixes.

the single was released at the start of this week and features Veronica Fall’s Roxanne Clifford helping out with the vocals. the headliner reMix comes from Ewan Pearson, who’s deeply electronic reMix combines a retro synth bassline with the kind of intricate programming that makes me think of the first Simian Mobile Disco album, but with more of a Disco vibe. It’s great, involving, Electro stuff. Psychemagik go for a more early ‘90’s House flavour with a post-Chicago deepness (despite “post-Chicago deepness” being a dick thing to say, it does kinda’ sound like that) and just the right amount of M1 piano and airy pads.

Walter Sobcek’s ‘Miami’

waltersobcek

Here it is, the long, long, long awaited new single from French Dreamwave/ElectroPop outfit Walter Sobcek.

‘Miami’ may have been released just as Summer is drawing to a close but within the first minute you’re put straight back into a long summer nights frame of mind. ‘Miami’ is pure, smooth, ElectroPop which leans a surprising amount on acoustic guitar, but this just adds to the hazy nostalgia of the track. Pharao Black Magic are amongst the reMix contributors. their effort brings more of a solid synthesizer Disco vibe to the tune and makes for a nice dancefloor compliment to the originals beach groove.
