New track from Silenx

It’s really is time to start paying attention to Silenx, if you like your retro sounding, Disco influenced, synth music then the man is top of his game.

‘Far Far Away’ is a melodic, spaced-out, Dreamwave jam that sweeps you up in it’s beautiful synths then his you with a killer slap bass. The production is pretty slick too, it’s quite a dense track but everything sits nicely and it retains that spacey, cosmic feel. With a couple of nice drops in just the right places and a lead line that soars ‘Far Far Away’ sees Silenex getting better and better.

Goin’ Old School: Jean-Michel Jarre – Zoolook

Jean-Michel Jarre is one of my all time heroes, a synthesizer king who has made some of the most epic music ever. In the mid-80’s he got a little funky and experimental with emerging sampling technology resulting in 1984’s ‘Zoolook’ album. This is the title track.

Pure Disco bliss now from Shiny Disco Club’s Viceroy.

His new single ‘Sunny Daze’ is available for free, like most Shiny Disco Club output, and it lives up to it’s name in that it’s perfect , funky, summer good time vibes. The Californian producer drops a cut-up French style jam that just begs to be played at the beach.

Final DJs’ ‘Nightflies’

Here is the new track from Germany’s Final DJs, who seem to be getting better and better with each release.

‘Nightflies’ is “a song about love and the night”, that being the case they’ve done a good job of capturing that emoting. Dark and emotive synth work carries you away through five minutes of retro Electro driving-and-brooding music, you know what I mean. Big on 80’s sounds in a contemporary dancefloor mould with some huge melodies, the Final DJs’ ‘Nightflies’ should go straight in your car.

Diamond Rings reMixes Austra

It’s team Toronto verses team Toronto as Canadian SynthPop trio Austra are given the reMix treatment by the flamboyant Mr. Diamond Rings.

The track is part two of a six-part weekly series of Diamond Rings reMixes called ‘Rainbow reMix’ in anticipation of the Astralwerks re-release of his ‘Special Affections’ album. DR takes the track and gives it a solid ElectroPop going over, with retro beats and chainsaw guitar synth, before bringing it down with a chilled piano outro.

‘Loose It’ is out now and Diamond Rings’ reMix series can be found, weekly, here.

Frankmusik reMixed by MNEK

Frankmusik and Far East Movement’s ‘Do It In The AM’ isn’t my favourite of Vincent’s tracks but it has really grown on me.

Throw in this big warp bass Electro-House mix from UK producer MNEK, premiered last week on Annie Mac’s show, that does some really interesting things with the original. Upping the grit on the track, MNEK drop a tight party-starting groove that is not only in your face, but leaves a surprising amount of the original arrangement intact (and you know I love it when reMixes do that!).

Monarchy Vs. Jaymo & Andy George

Moda main-men Jaymo & Andy George are one of the many who have reMixes ElectroPop duo Monarchy’s latest single ‘I Won’t Let Go’.

Featuring on their ‘Moda Volume 1’ compilation it’s a totally new take on the song that shrugs off the ElectroPop in favour of dancefloor madness. Leaving snatches of the original amongst the big beats and mind-loosing bassline this is a track to get lost in on the dancefloor.
