Fiero

Fiero are the latest in the long line of top quality Dreamwave and Nu-Disco coming out of California that you should be keeping an eye on.

Made up of DJ Nicky Savage along with fellow DJ and bassist Disco, For Your Health and Punk drummer/guitarist Sam//Aftermath, the trio knock out mixtapes full of smooth Electro party tunes and reMixes with more 80’s ElectroPop and Funk than you could shake an 80’s ElectroPop and Funky stick at.

Checking out their original material, though, is a thing of magic (as they themselves would tell you). Obviously there is a hint of the LA/Binary Dreamwave sound in the mix but they’ve got this strong late 80’s ElectroSoul or DancePop vibe running throughout. ‘Snacks On The Beach’ is pure summer fun, a party jam, a driving jam, a chilling jam. Mixing up a semi-rolling bassline, electro toms and the intertwining of some shimmering lead lines, the whole thing is an synthesizer barbeque with your best friends and finest beers.

Minitel Rose reMix Jimmy Edgar

Ahead of the proper release of their album ‘Atlantique’ French Electro trio Minitel Rose, one of the best ElectroPop acts around and longtime member of the Valerie crew, have dropped this reMix of Warp Records artist Jimmy Edgar.

Edgar’s strange take on Jazzy Electronica and ElectroPop is an interesting subject for Minitel Rose’s reMix skills who grab the track by the horns and turn it into a rolling Dreamwave epic.

Minitel Rose’s ‘Atlantique’ is out 22nd November on K7! Records.

Clock Opera Vs. Little Loud

We’re fans of both Clock Opera and Little Loud here at electronic rumors, so when this little gem dropped in the Inbox excitement followed.

It’s quite a killer tune too. ‘Once And For All’ will be Clock Opera’s next single for Kitsuné Music and Little Loud’s take on the track is a pulsing and shimmering synth workout. Laidback and feel good the sparking lead lines have a pretty euphoric effect.

StardonE reMixes The Smashing Pumpkins

After the whole StardonE are ace business of earlier this week I was disappointed to find that their reMix of The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘1979’ had reached it’s download limit on SoundCloud, so I got straight onto StardonE to remedy the situation and to be able to share it with you guys.

The track itself reminds me so much of being younger so the fact that someone has done a nice Dreamwavey reMix of it pleases me no end. Taking the hypnotic nature of the original and adding some killer drums, arpeggios, and a sweet little riff is, frankly, pure genius.

Listen, and enjoy:

Saharan Gazelle Boy

I must admit, I’d never heard of  Saharan Gazelle Boy before, apparently it’s a collaboration between Capybara’s Darin Seal and Sea Change. I’ve never heard of them either. Oh well.

I’m digging the music though, it’s nice and grungy and has an electronic post-punk vibe to it. An early 80’s Indie theme runs throughout but with enough electronics to keep it just the right side of SynthPop.

Check the video for their new single ‘Strange Teen Heart’.

And their previous record, ‘Halfhair Girl’, which is a little early New Order.

T.B.S. – The Bloody Sisters

T.B.S. (A.K.A. The Bloody Sisters) are a Parisian duo who are bringing the fuck back to us after all this dark synth stuff! 😉

‘Rock Your Body (T.B.S. AutoreMix)’ features American singer Enois Scroggins and Frenchman Rpiz on the talkbox and is some severely groove laden French Touch to chill you out with a rolling bass you can’t resist! The Frenchmen have also reMixed Walter Sobcek’s awesome ‘Je Me Souviens’ layering the dreamy SynthPop with their own Disco style.

The prefect comedown to a stressful day!

Detachments reMixed by T&A

We enthused about Detachments latest single ‘Holiday Romance’ and we’ve loves some of the reMixes that have come around so far.

Particularly likening this minimal mix by T&A which gives the track more of an electronic post-punk feel with bonus acid squelching and cowbell! Then, halfway though the track the bridge kicks in and the track turns into a really absorbing and listenable analog synth wig-out.

Daft Punk in Tron Legacy; official music and photo

So, after many false starts and fakes (although the last batch of leaked tracks I was sent seem to have turned out to be real) we finally have an officially released piece from Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack and also a first look at how Guy and Thomas will look in their roles as ‘mp3 files’ (read DJs) in the movie.

SO exited for this, both soundtrack and movie. Tron: Legacy hit cinemas 17th December.

Vandroid

This track’s been knocking around for a few days now but I couldn’t help but share it with you.

You’ve probably heard the Vandroid buzz by now. Lost 80’s grindhouse movie? Missing soundtrack? Check some of the press release:

“In a windowless warehouse building on the dreary outskirts of town, an unknown purveyor of grind-house cinema was beginning principal photography on what would be it’s last film ever. That summer, in that same warehouse, a young audio engineer named Fujiyama was contracted to record a visionary album as a companion piece to the film using a preproduction test unit of the latest synthesising equipment from Sansui in Osaka.

But sadly, the film and the soundtrack created for it, would not be completed according to plan.

A few weeks later, a freak fire raged out of control, destroying the studio. The barrister found the owners innocent. Insurance checks were cut. And the masters for the film and soundtrack were presumed gone forever.

In the Summer of 2009, Police were called by county court to open a rental-storage locker in the San Fernando Valley, CA with payments long overdue registered to a man by the name of Fujiyama Matsumoto, deceased, as confirmed by LA County Coroner’s Office, 2007.

Presumed lost forever, the visionary unfinished concept album was found in a sealed box in the back of the storage locker and now this epic soundtrack from this unreleased film is about to be released over 25 years after it’s creation.”

What is know is that there will probably be an album put together by some of the best new disco names around. Van She Tech and Fred Falke are definatly on the cards. Speaking of which, it’s been a while since Van She got their reMixing groove on so here’s the first of the Vandriod tracks, ‘Master & Slave’, and it’s Van She Tech mix. It’s a pretty great start to whatever Vandroid is.
