We haven’t written about Pégase since way back in 2009! Pégase is, of course, the side project of Raphaël, the lead singer of the utterly amazing Minitel Rose. Both of which we have heard far to little from in recent years. Better later than never though, as Pégase releases his début (really?) EP.
Here’s the video for ‘The Bad Side Of Love’ the lead track on the ‘Without Reasons’ EP, directed by Nicolas Davenel. The EP contains reMixes from Giraffage, Les Et Les Garcons, Ruckazoid & Equateur and is a welcome return from one of the founding fathers of Dreamwave.
Here;s the brand new video for Minitel Rose’s forthcoming single ‘Heart Of Stone’. It’s a great choice for a single release, it a catchy and upbeat French ElectroPop tune with a little Indie slant. Nice looking video too!
Directed by Thomas Delebecque & Thomas Davenel.
‘Heart Of Stone’ is taken from Minitel Rose’s awesome ‘Atlantique’.
Ahead of the proper release of their album ‘Atlantique’ French Electro trio Minitel Rose, one of the best ElectroPop acts around and longtime member of the Valerie crew, have dropped this reMix of Warp Records artist Jimmy Edgar.
Edgar’s strange take on Jazzy Electronica and ElectroPop is an interesting subject for Minitel Rose’s reMix skills who grab the track by the horns and turn it into a rolling Dreamwave epic.
We’ve got another reMix of Minitel Rose’s rad ‘Wild Birds’ here for to to celebrate the final build up to the release of the bands second album ‘Atlantique’. due out in November.
Two years after their truly incredible, and arguably game changing, début album ‘the French Machine’ the trio are back with an album composed largely in a rented house overlooking the ocean in Quentin’s hometown of Pornic, France. Minitel Rose’s first album was an amazing collection of retro synth Indie masterpieces. A futuristic and romantic sound that helped kick start the Dreamwave while keeping one foot in the Indie Rock scene. Let’s hope the new album is just as good. Who doesn’t love Minitel Rose? Chances are, if you’re reading this blog, you do!
So check out this new reMix of ‘Wild Birds’ from their recent, and amazing, album ‘Atlantic’. It’s been a while since we featured anything by Build, the man’s been quiet of late but here he’s teamed up with fellow London producer Clancy to ElectroPop the hell out of this track. Smooth dancefloor electronic Pop production that could see the names Clancy & Build next to the likes of Grum, Russ Chimes & Starsmith in the future.
Minitel Rose, those purveyors of the smoothest of French SynthPop & Dreamwave, are finally gearing up to drop their second album ‘Atlantic’ this June, and that (if you didn’t know) is an exiting thing! Their 2008 début ‘The French Machine’ still gets weekly play here and was an important record in terms of introducing a smoother French Electro sound to the masses and drawing wider attention to the Dreamwave movement being spearheaded by the Valerie Collective.
Listening to ‘Wild Birds’, the first track from the album, just wets the appetite even more. Their Electro-House tinged Disco SynthPop is in full effect on this energetic, anthemic track. It’s retro synth chords and uplifting vocals seriously bode well for this album being the soundtrack to the summer. electronic rumors fave Barretso give the track a shot of adrenaline with his reMix, busting out his best pumping percussion and shimmering synths to create a powerhouse of a reMix. Kolt13 brings a Disco/Chiptune soundclash to his version, and intricate mixture of Nintendo madness and Discoball funk.
Minitel Rose look like they are going to release an awesome album, with some awesome remixes. Can’t wait!
The week in Bangers: While electronic rumors isn’t strictly an Electro-House blog, we do cover a lot of Electro-House that crosses over in to our realm. So many good club tunes and reMixes surface each week we can’t (and wouldn’t) cover them all, so this is a round up of some of the best from the week that we didn’t have time to dedicate individual posts to…
