[Audio] AIMES reMixes Auxiliary Tha Masterfader’s ‘Disco Machine’

auxiliary-tha-masterfader

Dutch Disco don Auxiliary Tha Masterfader and Brooklyn’s dancefloor master AIMES go full Italo with his new release. Due out next week on Brixton’s Nude Disco label, Disco Machine is Aux’s new single (the original of which can be heard on the recently released Nude Disco Selections Vol 2 compilation) and features reMixes from the likes of RipTidE and BroKen DJs. It’s also been taken to synthetic heaven by AIMES. This one is pure retro electronics gold. Get involved!

Brace yourself for a six minute robo Disco assault. A dancefloor Terminator. AIMES offers up every machine beat, vintage synth and vocoded vocal in his arsenal and wraps them up in a smooth and funky delivery. This one is loaded with popping electro toms, spikey synths, a choppy bassline and a silky galactic groove. As the hazy mechanized voice commands you to “dance”, it hard not to comply. Think Kraftwerk under a mirrorball.

Oxford

Grab yourself a funky fresh slice of French House with the latest tune from Parisian producer Oxford. It’s been more than a while since we heard a brand new tune from this severely talented groover so we’re hoping this is the start of a resurgence of new material. Oxford is giving this one away for free; so download it and stick this smooth jam in your headphones ASAP. Aria will brighten up any day, so get on it.

Oh that French bass! Irresistible. Aria sees Oxford serving up the perfect blend of Parisian Disco and Tropical vibes; taking it’s time to ease you into the tune, this one soon treats you that infectious bass and woozy, stabbing synths. Rolling vocal modulated samples and incandescent melodies in and out of the track, Oxford keeps things interesting and the track evolving. With a slightly raw feel, Aria feels visceral and immediate and, for want of a better word, real. Intoxicating Disco sounds from the Frenchman.

[Audio] MiGHty mOUse reMixes Holy Models’ ‘Lessons’

holy-models

Aussie duo Holy Models are gearing up for the release of their second single. Following their début on Eskimo Recordings the Lo-Fi Disco outfit have teamed up with High Above Ground to unleash Lessons. The singles comes equipped with a whole host of storming reMixes, the Falcon Punch reMix is already doing the rounds but we have honed in of this storming track from the man MiGHty mOUse. Check it out below.

If you’re in the mood for squelchy synth bass then you’ve come to the right place. The mOUse serves up a ever climbing Cosmic Disco best with vaguely Acidic overtones. In contract to some of his more House-y recent output, this one sees MiGHty mOUse doing what he does best; galactic, quirky, intoxicating Disco. Synth heavy and unshakably funky. Revolving around  a razor sharp riff that ebbs and flows as the track progresses, this reMix of Lessons takes the dancefloor along for a ride as it dips and builds. Deceptively complex in it’s layering of sounds, it’s a track you can truly sink into.

The Sanfernando Sound

As we mentioned yesterday, the awesome Nude Disco posse is getting ready to unleash their second label compilation; Nude Disco Selections Vol. 2, a must for fans of a modern take on classic Italo Disco. Yesterday we premièred Jules Schimmer’s contribution to the release, today we can unveil another member of electronic rumors’ extended family The Sanfernando Sound’s offering. Here is The World Was Ours.

The Sanfernando Sound makes a break from his enigmatic and edgy recent track record to serve up a shimmering slice of summery Italo gold. The World Was Ours roll along powered by a shockingly infectious bassline that underpins a plethora of lush synths and starlight melodies. Sprinkled over this delicious dancefloor cake are electro toms, a cheeky vocal sample and orchestral hits. Now, if you’re a long time reader of this webzine you will be well aware of our opinion about orchestral hits; they make everything better, the make everything perfect, so The Sanfernando Sound had is at the first hit. Funky fresh fun.

[Download] Le Visiteur’s ‘Will She Be There?’

Le Visiteur

The Reason EP is Housemeister Le Visiteur’s second release for MiGHty mOUse’s label Nightfilm Music. It’s a three track affair from the Scottish Producer/DJ/Blogger and to mark the release Nightfilm are giving one of the tracks away Scot free (don’t judge me!). Will She Be There? enlists the help of Nick Paterson from Edinburgh duo Neon Liston on vocal duties and delivers some nicely un-pretentious and bouncy club sounds.

Based around a springy Disco bassline, Will She Be There? precariously straddles both Disco and House while putting an easy-going, stripped down twist on both. Solid beats and a nostalgic hook are intercut with warm pads and attention holding flourishes while Paterson gives it his smoothest vocal all (including a (presumably unintentional) hilarious “get her booty on the floor tonight” line). If you’re like us then you’ll be saving up this tune, and indeed the whole EP, for the weekend. Fingers crossed for good weather, ‘cos this is sunshine, shades on, music and worth your attention.

[Audio] Jules Schimmer’s ‘Soar’

jules-schimmer

Brixton based Nu-Disco collective Nude Disco are gearing up for the release of their second label compilation. Nude Disco Selections Vol. 2 is set for release at the start of next month and will be a tasty snapshot of the kind of Italo Disco goodness we’ve come to expect from the label and it’s Brixton nightclub home. Sitting loud and proud on this storming collection is this little gem from long time friend of electronic rumors Jules Schimmer. It’s his first new tune in quite a while, it’s called Soar, and you can grab your exclusive first listen below.

Mr. Schimmer serves up as emotional and heartfelt electronic as we’ve ever heard with Soar. It’s a fitting title as the tune is warm and uplifting with comfortable retro Italo and House grooves playing out inspiring chord progressions. Like a mid-90s euphoric Trance tune played by a late-80s House producer, Soar is pleasingly nostalgic with a sunrise rush. That lead hook worms it’s way into your brain and stats with you four hours after you’ve finished listening, and with a hook like that, that’s no bad thing. There’s nothing not to like about this one.

[Audio] Orthy’s ‘Listen To Her Heart’

Orthy

Just dropped  is the new single from Austin based smooth Disco producer Orthy. Their second release for New York’s Dither Down label. The tune’s called Listen To Her Heart and the release comes backed with a host of reMixes of tracks from Orthy’s E.M.I.L.Y. EP of last year from the likes of AIMES and Cosmic Kids. The track is actually a reworking of the Tom Petty song of the same name; give it a listen.

Listen To Her Heart sees Orthy mix-up laid back breezy Indie-DiscoPop with Chillwave. Experimenting with sounds and effects, Orthy’s sonic landscape is enigmatic and occasionally abrasive, but he wraps everything up in a warm, reverb washed, groove for his smoky vocals to drift over. With a generous helping of nostalgia, Orthy serves up something to drift off to.
