NightWaves In The Air Tonight

NightWaves02

Binary Records posted this on their blog the other day and I just had to share it with you.

One of their finest acts, ElectroPoppers NightWaves, covering Phil Collins’ ‘In The Air Tonight’!!! A song which always makes me think of Crockett and Tubbs from Miami Vice driving the Ferrari Daytona and brooding through rainy Miami streets at night…and if there was ever a scene that summed up the Dreamwave ethos, then surely that is it!

So, it’s a fitting cover, by a fitting band, and it’s actually really good. Of course, the drum solo isn’t Collins, but what follows is every bit as powerful! 😉

Tiga & Chromeo; What more do you need?

Tiga02

Like a big Montreal mash-up, long-time friends Tiga and Chromeo together on a track sounds too good to be true.

Turbo is just dropping the second selection of reMixes of Tiga’s ‘What You Need’ featuring works by Steve Aoki, A-Trak and Chromeo.

It’s almost a Chromeo track, awash with heavy funk bass and covered in Dave 1’s vocals and makes a pretty good hold over until the duo release their third album this summer..

‘What You Need’ is out now.

Fukkk Offf; new EP

FukkkOfff

Electro-House noisemaker Fukkk Offf is back with a new album, ‘Remix Is King’ (a follow up to the ‘Rave Is King’ EP and début album ‘Love Me, Hate Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me’), a compilation of reMixes with an original track thrown in for good measure.

The reMixes include Fukkk Offf’s for the likes of Zombie Nation, Monosurround, & Midfield General and reMixers such as Zodiac Cartel, & Markus Lange reMixing Fukkk Offf tracks.

The original is ‘Utopia’, a swirling, spaced out, Nu-Disco track with an absolutely killer kick drum.

Jump Jump Dance Dance

JumpJumpDanceDance

LA based Electro-Indie-Rock duo Jump Jump Dance Dance are releasing their début single, ‘Show Me The Night’ on 26th March, and it’s a catchy party track with an LCD Soundsystem crossed with The Whip feel to it.

The single contains some great reMixes. Grum looks like he’s got his eyes on Russ Chimes’ constantly-amazing-nu-disco-remixes crown as he’s pumping out fantastic mix after mix and this one is no exception with a killer bassline and retro synths. ElectroPop newcomers Human Life turn in this hazy, summery, Disco tune that kicks into some old school rave chords.

Fear Of Tigers reMix Yes Giantess

YesGiantess02

Neon Gold have got so many fantastic artists and producers on speed dial that any combination of their associated acts is bound to produce stunning results.

But this hook up of Indie-ElectroPopsters Yes Giantess an the ever wonderful Fear Of Tigers sounds just too good to be true, but it’s not, it manages to live up to expectations!

The Starsmith produces ‘The Ruins’ is a great SynthPop track to begin with, but Fear Of Tigers knocks it out of the park, lifting the track into a epic Nu-Disco powerhouse, a retro synth monster soundtrack to your teenage summers!

The single, ‘The Ruins’ drops 8th March.

Grum Vs. Magistrates

Magistrates

Essex Indie outfit Magistrates have been given the Electro treatment by the always quality Grum.

A bit more ElectroPop than your usual Grum outing but it’s still got that Grum groove and the whole track works together brilliantly. ‘Gold Lover’ sounds like it was written with this reMix in mind!

Magistrates – Gold Lover (Grum reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Apparently Magistrates have split up, or something.

Diamond Cut reMixes The Candle Thieves

TheCandleThieves

We’ve been very impressed with many of Diamond Cut’s recent reMixes so when a new one hits the electronic rumors inbox it always makes us sit up and pay attention.

Here he has turned his skills to Lo-Fi bedroom popsters The Candle Thieves and their track ‘We’re All Gonna’ Die (Have Fun)’ turning the quirky Indie-Pop track into a smooth ElectroPop journey that carries you away on sweeping synths whist retaining the intimate feel of the original. Great stuff!

A bunch of Short Circuit reMixes!

ShortCircuit

The good folks at LA based Dreamwave/SynthPop label Binary stopped by the electronic rumors inbox to drop off a bunch of reMixes, some old, some new showcasing the production talents of Andrew Verner A.K.A. Short Circuit just ahead of his début album release.

His reMixes of Keenhouse’s ‘Mecho Maniac’ and The Presets’ ‘Kicking And Screaming’ have been knocking around for a while now but perfectly show off Andrews unique take on the Dreamwave sound, kinda’ like a rawer, more analog version take on the genre.

He’s also dropped two new reMixes of 80’s classics Def Leppard’s ‘Foolin’’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat it’, which display a more urgent, almost more aggressive, evolution to his style.

Michael Jackson – Beat It (Short Circuit reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Andrew has been locked away in his studio for months and Binary will be releasing the results very soon.

Russ Chimes + Cassette Kids

CassetteKids02

Russ Chimes is back again to wreck shop! This time he turns his attention to Australian Electro-Indie outfit Cassette Kids and looks set to stop a hole in music blogland once again!

Just how the man manages to keep up the pace of pushing out huge mix after huge mix is a mystery. The width of the reMix is immense with layer upon layer of vocals and soaring synths tied together with Russ’ trademark Disco beats and basslines. Big House reMix is a pretty apt description!"

Cassette Kids – Spin (Russ Chimes Big House reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)
