[Audio] A.N.D.Y.’s ‘Minus One’

A.N.D.Y.

Minus One is the forthcoming new single from Belgian Housemeister A.N.D.Y.. The man had a pretty good 2013, culminating in the massive single Pump It Up. Now he’s setting his sights on 2014 and kicking things off big style with this new collaboration with vocalist Tayla Malcolm. Never one to sit on a genre, A.N.D.Y. drops some surprising sounds with this one.

Minus One launches with a Rootsy, Dub groove (which immediately makes us love it), before contacting with some pumping, deep, Piano House. This makes for a perfect platform for UK Singer Tayla, whose bluesy voice sits well with both the Dub and the House, lending a soulful slant to both. At it’s peak this track is all compelling vocals, warbling, bright snyths and an un-ignorable kick/piano combination. Looks like A.N.D.Y. has produced something that’ll be getting a lot of spins this summer.

[Audio] autoKratz’s ‘Push’

autoKratz

London based all-round electronic music voyagers autoKratz has a new single in the pipeline. The duo are referring to the track as their “I ain’t gone soft” moment, as the track takes leave of their usual ElectroPop persona and revels in their love of all things House and Techno (fans of their record label, Bad Life, can testify to this). Push succeeds in reminding people that autoKratz can make some of the grittiest, dirtiest dance music around.

Pure jacking vibes abound on this one. It’s full of Chicago-esque House madness fit for dim, strobe-light lit, warehouse raves. From the deep deep kick to the stabbing lead keys, you couldn’t ask for more of a hypnotic House tune to get lost in on the dancefloor. It’s not all noise noise noise either; autoKratz definitely ain’t gone soft, but they can still bring the grove.

This week; one of our favourite Sweedish artists, ODahl, released a brand new EP via Pole Position Recordings. Your Love is packed with four tracks of blissful Scandinavian Disco tinged House, the title track featuring the vocal talents of Frank H Carter III, and manages to effortlessly straddle both a club sound and something surprisingly Poppy. Check out the lead track.

Soulful is the best way to describe Your Love. ODahl serves up a plethora of slick House beats with a retro slant. Loads of warm synths, retro organs stabs and rumbling basslines come correct, creating a Garage-y vibe whist Carter lets rip with a smooth as hell, R&B vocal performance. these are the things Chicago was build on, and ODahl runs with it.

[Audio] Gorgon City’s ‘Here For You’

Gorgon-City

UK House producers extraordinaire Gorgon City have unleashed their latest slice of (presumably) chart climbing Pop/UK Deep House crossover. London based singer Laura Welsh lends her considerable vocal talent to this one. Fresh rom producing Klaxons’ current single There Is No Other Time, Gorgon City turn in an absolute stormer of their own.

Welsh’s breathy vocals are the perfect foil for Gorgon City’s sub heavy House track. The duo lay down a nice mix of euphoric synths and dark, rumbling, club bass. The perfect festival belter, you can expect to hear this one a lot over the summer. A track of two sides, one minute Welsh’s voice and hazy synths draw you into the song, the next the speaker shaking bass kicks you in the face. Just how we like it.

[Audio] Goldroom reMixes MØ’s ‘Don’t Wanna’ Dance’

MØ

Disco superstar Goldroom has unleashed his eagerly awaited reMix of Danish QuirkPop enigma ’s Don’t Wanna’ Dance. The track is taken from her recently released début album, No Mythologies To Follow, which dropped in early March to critical acclaim. The Dreamwave originator washed the track is some more if his blissful fantasy Tropical vibes.

The vocals on this one are the perfect amount of soulful hazy to pair up with Josh’s beats. A laid back, beach party, House tune, this reMix serves up the sunkissed sounds by the truckload. Punchy synth bass powers the track, doing all the heavy lifting, leaving tons of room of MØ’s dreamy vocal and waves of warm keys to carry you away.

[Audio] Paradisko’s ‘Chewing Gum’ (+ MiGHty mOUse reMix)

Paradisko

Out this week on the mighty On The Fruit Records is the début record from Turkish Duo Paradisko. Already getting a heap of support; the track, the product of the pairing of Thousand Fingers & Hemi, comes complete with a packed reMix package featuring the likes of Xinobi, Digits and Cosmic Disco master MiGHty mOUse.

This one’s all about that utterly infectious synth bass. Funky as all hell, the bassline works it’s way into your head and effects your feet. It’s as playful as it is relentlessly groovy, a head on collision of Italo and Nu-Disco, this robo-Boogie is bound to stay on repeat for a long time to come. MiGHty mOUse’s take on the tune is a slow builder, taking it;s time to layer intricate purcussion and rich pads until it reaches a point where it morphs into a UK House monster that owes as much to early 90s Bleep House as it does to today’s dancefloors. The mOUse delivers a nice mix of ominous bass and light Disco synths with dancefloor destroying precision. It;s an awesome collection of track you definitely need to be checking out.

[Audio] Hercules And Love Affair’s &’Working Miracles’

Hercules And Love Affair

Working Miracles is one of two B-sides to Hercules And Love Affair’s new single Do You Feel The Same?, released ahead of Andy Butler and crew’s forthcoming The Feast Of The Broken Heart album. The A-side is a  spacious funky Acid Disco monster, so H&LA deliver something deeper for the flipside.

After a shaky piano and sample intro, Working Miracles drop and thumping, almost Psy Trance, beat. Undulating and hypnotic, the groove builds and builds into an ecclectic and bassy House juggernaut. Taking cues from their Industrial roots and their Warehouse DNA, Working Miracles moves in both dancefloor and avant-garde circles.
