Rüfüs get reMixed by Beaumont

The excitement about Rüfüs doesn’t seem to stop growing. Since their own EP release, and the news of the forthcoming reMix EP on On The Fruit Records, this Syndey trio are getting killer press and going from strength to strength.

But Wait…Beaumont’s in the house! Tackling the track from a deeper Electro groove than we’re used to from Beaumont turned out to be a great idea. Not only does his reMix give the track a driving dancefloor kick but lifts it to an almost cinematic place too, which seems to make the vocals more emotive. Euphoric Electro anyone?

NightWaves reMix Glasnost

The core of LA’s Binary collective, NightWaves, have worked their magic on Huston band Glasnost’s new single ‘Corridor’.

Glasnost’s original walks the line between raucous Indie-Electro and retro Nu-Disco, in kinda’ the same way Fenech-Soler do but more dancefloor orientated. it a big, full track that will have your speakers demanding to be cranked up loud. NightWaves apply their trademark laidback groove to the track, keeping the energy high but with a more hazy night-time vibe.

ODahl’s ‘Out Of Control’ EP

Home of all things awesome and 80’s Mullet Records are releasing the new ODahl EP, ‘Out Of Control’, this week exclusively through Juno (the rest of civilisation comes later).

Fresh from a mind-blowing reMix of Futurecop! & Keenhouse’s ‘Dreams’ ODahl keeps him momentum going with some of the sweetest synthesizer funk we’ve heard in a while. He’s got the kicking groove and razor sharp leads locked down, but its the flourishes where ODahl shines. Embellishing this Nu-Disco monster with little riffs and drops to keep you on your toes.

A really recommended release!

The ‘Out Of Control’ EP is out now at Juno, other webstores to follow.

Uncle TNUC works his magic on The Outrunners

No idea why I didn’t get around to posting this earlier. Here we have Uncle TNUC’s awesome diamond themed video for Valerie members The Outrunners’ ‘Diamonds’. As usual TNUC takes everything we love about the 80’s and distils it into six minutes of pure, uncut, awesome.

And that ending had to be done really!

‘Diamonds’ is taken from The Outrunners’ 2010 EP ‘Running For Love And Money’

Bullmeister (+ Lifelike & Gooseflesh)

Berlin’s Bullmeister are an Indie-ElectroPop trio, who list Phoenix, Goose and Fenech-Soler amongst their influences and seem to put on a crazy live show.

Taking the best of French -House and cramming into some noisy ElectroPop on their new single ‘Baby’ Bullmeister have created a powerhouse Pop jam with all the right riffs and breakdowns. Roping in Nu-Disco genius Lifelike and Electroheads Gooseflesh for the reMixes was an awesome idea. Lifelike turns in a chilled Disco tune with some rad massive synths in and his usual flying arpeggios while Gooseflesh get Ravey with the B-side, ‘It’s Okay’.

The trio have just been signed to Universal, so expect things to blow up soon.

Pacific! & Anoraak

Get your ears round the new reMix of Pacific!’s ‘Unspoken’ by Valerie’s top player Anoraak.

‘Unspoken’, taken from Pacific!’s amazing sophomore album, Narcissus, is getting a single release backed with reMixes from the likes of Santiago & Bushido, Moonlight Matters, Alex Gopher & Pierrick Devin and this Anoraak mix. Taking El Perro Del Mar’s vocals, that tell the story of  Echo, who is rejected by the vain Narcissus and left pining for him, but with her love unanswered, she slowly withers away until only her voice is left, and putting it to Anoraak 80’s flavoured Electro works seems a stroke of genius. Anoraak’s smooth tunes are already soundtrack inspired so seem to flow perfectly with a narrative track like this.

You!

You! are a Parisian duo made up of Romuald Boivin (I Am Un Chien) and José Reis Fontao (Stuck In The Sound) who released their album of quirky Indie-SynthPop late last year.

Their new single, taken from their self titled début is ‘Heart’, and it has a strong line up of reMixes to accompany it. The UK’s Blue Satellite smother the track in a thick layer of funk bass on their deep, addictive grooved, Disco mix while Robotaki’s cut-up Nu-Disco Pop mix hit all the right buttons with a bit of Disco, a bit of ElectroPop and a bit of Chip Tune.

Anoraak’s ‘Crazy Eyes’ single

The release of Anoraak’s ‘Crazy Eyes’ single has been a long time coming!

Valerie’s top ElectroPop producer finally drops the third single from his awesome ‘Wherever The Sun Sets’ album. Alongside a nice looking reMix package he lets loose this Disco version of his own. Anoraak will always be here to see in the long, dreamy, nights as we start to hit some warmer weather and ‘Crazy Eyes’ defiantly does the trick. Slick, laidback ElectroPop with a Dreamwave feel from one of the pioneers of the genre.

Anoraak – Crazy Eyes (Disco Version)

The single will feature reMixes from Russ Chimes, Julien Meyer (who won the reMix competition) and Pacific! and is released on 14th March.

Krystal Klear’s OMD reMix

It’s gotta’ be said, both The Human League and OMD are really upping their game in terms of their choices of reMix artists for their recent singles. Gone is their vague, yet uneducated, nod to modern electronic music to be replaced by a real insight into what is happening on ElectroPop friendly dancefloors these days.

Case in point; Krystal Klear’s reMix of OMD’s new single, ‘History Of Modern’ is a straight-up dancefloor Nu-Disco jam awash with New Jack Swing vibes. Dropping a deep jacking bass, vocoded vocals and huge 80’s Disco chords seems so far away from OMD’s SynthPop sound yet works so well.

OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark) – History Of Modern (Part 1) (Krystal Klear reMix)

The single will be released soon on limited edition 10”, CD and digital.
