[MP3] Kisses reMix Haim

Haim

Hot on the heels of their new single and new album announcement, LA ElectroPop duo Kisses, a name soon to be on everybody’s lips, have dropped this reMix of the name that is currently on everybody’s lips, Indie-Girl trio Haim and their track Send Me Down.

Kisses turn the track into an indescribably warm six minutes of lush DiscoPop. With a nod to the poolside and hot LA nights, Kisses manage to keep the quirky Indie feel to the tune whist adding heaps of sexy summer groove. With those smokey vocals to work with, Kisses deliver a suitably odd-ball version of Disco, with enough eccentricities to stay true to the original, but enough of a dancefloor vibe to keep crowds moving.

[MP3] Moon Boots’ ‘No One’

Moon Boots

American Nu-Disco producer Moon Boots is a generous fella, always giving away free tracks. the man had an awesome 2012, where he really came into his own and carved out a name for himself, cementing his wider reputation. He’s kicking off 2013 in fine form with this new track, No One.

This one is a nice mix of Topical and House, mainly House though. Premièred on The Magician’s last mixtape, No One is a dreamy ol’ slice of late night Boogie. The ex- Hey Champ!-er lays down some silky smooth sounds over a classic 909 beat. Dropping in a silky vocal line is just the icing on the cake for this five minutes of warm 90s House. We’re hoping to hear a lot more from Moon Boots in the coming months, we’re sure he’s going to rock our ears.

[MP3] Justin Faust’s ‘La Fête’

justin_faust

It feels like ages since we’ve had a new original tune from German Disco king Justin Faust, the man has been busy producing some of the best reMixes of the past year, but we do love it when an original comes along. Apparently this is a tune that Mr. Faust has been playing out for a while, so it’s a tried and tested track that JF and Discotexas are giving us for free.

If you’re looking for a big Disco part tune, then look no further. La Fête revolves around sumptuous horns and a swirling vocals hook for a beach party groove with an otherworldly twist provided by some Cosmic keys. The lead riff has got an almost arabesque feel to it too, again adding to the magical vibe. Underneath it all though, is just a full-on party starter.

[MP3] Pelifics reMixes Liebe

Liebe

Amazing Swedish SynthWave producer Pelifics has dropped this new reMix of Greek duo Liebe’s Strangers. The track is part of Leibe’s Somewhere In Time album and has just got the single treatment with a release last week. Pelifics is the prefect guy to give it a lush retroPop sheen.

The reMix hits all the right notes for a huge chunk of Boogie with a bouncy 80s bassline and vintage drum machine beat. It swaps the original ElectroPop’s tune Piano House flavour for a deeper, nostalgic vibe. Vocoders and cowbells round out the mix, and there even some of our beloved orchestral hits in the mix if you listen carefully. Pelifics turns a big slice of ElectroPop into an even bigger slice of evocative period Pop.

[MP3] Computer Magic

Computer Magic

One of out favourite artists hailing from Brooklyn (and that is no mean feat, we’re pretty sure that when you move to Brooklyn you get given a complimentary analog synth) is Computer Magic. We’ve written about Danielle Johnson’s music a fair bit over the past couple of years, but thinks have been pretty quite since last summer. No fear though, she’s back with a brand new single, A Million Years, due out in march and it’s everything we’ve been missing.

Mixing up a hazy Indie-Electro vibe with a solid Disco groove, A Million Years, pumps along to a hypnotic Moog bassline and spacious, atmospheric, buzzing synths, wrapping the listener in a blanket if electronic comfort while Danielle’s quirky lament sounds a lot more cheerful than the songs subject matter would suggest. If you like interesting, quite introspective, Indie-ElectroPop you’ve come to the right place.

[MP3] Awkoder’s Breaking Lies’

Awkoder

Breaking Lies is the new one from France’s moody SynthWave master Awkoder. Only this time, he’s getting his groove on, with one of the finest SynthWave/House collisions we’ve heard in a long time. Taken from Glacis Records free compilation, Friendly, Breaking Lies is a huge slab of smooth, synthed out, dancefloor madness.

From the offset, you know Breaking Lies is going to be a little funkier than Awkoder’s usual output, a slick Disco lick leads you into the track soon accompanied by melodic vocal samples and a pounding House beat. But it’s around the 01m09s mark that the song truly comes into it’s own. A blisteringly epic hook jumps into the track, part Outrun, part ChipTune, giving the track it’s SynthWave sheen. It’s like the best of all worlds.

[MP3] Chordashian’s ‘Cold Nights’

Chordashian

Brooklyn funketeers Chordashian are getting into a House groove with their new tune, Cold Nights. In their own words the track is “Built to keep you warm”, and in these chilly months it does exactly that. A lush, warm House tune to wrap yourself in like a warm blanket.

Cold Nights delivers a pure nostalgic House experience, and that’s where the warmth comes from. It’s like a mixture of early an 90s Chicago warehouse track with bits of mid 90’s Orbital, all funky and familiar. Of course, Chordashian make the sound their own with some burning disco synth riffs that inject the track with a little gritty euphoria. Feeling warmer already.

[MP3] Lifelike & Kris Menace reMixed by Quinten 909

Lifelike & Kris Menace

It’s been a while since we had a new tune from Dutch Disco don Quinten 909, but here he is, to start you week boogieing, with a Funktastic reMix of  Lifelike & Kris Menace‘s, now classic, Discopolis.

Squelching up that instantly recognisable bassline and giving the beat a little disco shuffle, give the tune a lighter, groovier feeling, as opposed to the dancefloor stomp of the original. Full of nice filter sweeps and popping rhythms, Quinten 909 does a nice job of turning a big room monster into a laid back, pool party, jam. Get ready for some tasty bass.

[MP3] Kajagoogoo reMixed SirAiva

kajagoogoo

We tried to fight it off, but we just couldn’t resist this one. Portuguese producer SirAiva has put together this fun filled reMix of Kajagoogoo‘s Too Shy. We just couldn’t help but like this mixture of early 80s Pop and early 90s House, with just a touch of Beach Disco.

We’re not really sure what more can be said on the matter. You all love Too Shy anyway (we know you do), add to that a robotic beat, Chicago basslines, Electro-House riffs, Disco licks. It’s like a melting pop of dance music, but somehow works. Well, it made us smile anyway.

[MP3] Jordan F reMixes Yale

Yale

Yale are an Indie-Dance duo hailing from Brisbane, Australia. Their track Lost In The Crowd has been giving the shining SynthWave treatment by Aussie ex-pat Jordan F. We generally love it when Jordan gets his hands on some vocals, not that we don;t love his music anyway, but how he works a song into a blissful, hazy, dream is always something we look forward to.

This time he had a pretty good starting point. Yale’s track is slick summery Indie-Electro, full of heart, which gives Jordan the perfect jump-off point to weave his nostalgic magic. The whole thing is just so warm and fuzzy you can’t help but become enthralled by it. The tracks wonderfully heartfelt vocals are a fine match for Jordan’s emotional electronics. Smooth retro sounds at their fullest.
