Tigersapien

tigerapien

What do humanoid tigers do when they’re not tearing it up at strip joints?

They make badass punky ElectroPop, that’s what!

I’m really digging Tigersapien, poppy but with a raw edge and dancefloor credentials…and they’re Tigers who like strippers, what’s not to like?

Here’s two tracks from their self released EP called…er…’EP’, which they disseminated throughout various blogs and social networks.

La Roux new video

larouxvid

A long weekend partying in Bristol coupled with the worst snowstorm to hit London in a gazillion years mean I really can’t be bothered to post much today, sorry folks. I have some good shit I wanna’ blog this week, just not today.

In the meantime you can clock this video for La Roux‘s new single ‘In For The Kill’. This track took me a little longer to get into than ‘Quicksand’ but I love the chorus now.

Those cheeky chappies at Universal have disabled embedding on the video for some reason so you’ll have to go to the inconvenience of visiting a whole-nother site to view it.

Yuksek’s album comes out tomorrow

yuksek

Tomorrow sees the digital release of Yuksek‘s début album ‘Away From The Sea’ (the physical release is 2nd February) and it promises to be a noisy Nu-Disco ElectroPop scorcher.

A French producer making French Electro; Yuksek has plied up loads of big name reMixes over the last couple of years, everyone from Kaiser Chiefs to GhostfaceKillah , making this album pretty eagerly awaited.

If the likes of ‘Extraball’ are any indication, it’s not going to dissapoint!

The album also includes last year’s banger ‘Tonight’.

Ladytron: New single news!

ladytron

The, ever-wonderful, supreme overlords of alternative electronic pop  music Ladytron return with the third single from the Vicarious Bliss produced album ‘Velocifero’.

‘Tomorrow’ is released on the 23rd February on Nettwerk, it wouldn’t have been my first choice for the next single but is a fine choice none the less.

ReMixes are provided by, amongst others, Jeuce.

Lykke Li: Little Bit of reMixing

lykkeli

As I may have mentioned, I do quite like female vocalists with quirky/interesting voices, so I can’t help but have a soft spot for Lykke Li, especially when the likes of Death To The Throne take one of her better tunes and morph it into an Electro-House stomper!

If you’re feeling whimsical, you could do worse than buying some Lykke Li to chill to.

Hot Chip cover Joy Division!

hotchip

Hot Chip‘s finest cover version to date comes courtesy of War Child’s latest charity compilation ‘Heroes’.

It really does sound like Joy Division fed through a Hot Chip machine, every bit as driving and haunting as the original.

Hot Chip – Transmission (Joy Division Cover) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Hot Chip appear on the album alongside the likes of Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peaches, Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand and TV On The Radio, amongst others.

‘Heroes’ is released on the 16th February.

Lady Gaga/Frankmusik soundclash!

ladygaga

Lady GaGa‘s next single will be ‘Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)’, which I thought was a pretty mediocre track on her début album.

However, reMixes for the single will be supplied, amongst others, by Frankmusik

Hervé gives Lily ‘The Fear’

lilyallen21

As I mentioned here Lily Allen has gone all ElectroPop, so I’ll be interested to hear her new album, ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’.

In the meantime Hervé, also known as The Count (i.e. that bloke from The Count & Sinden), has come up with this reMix of ‘The Fear’, the first single form the album, that turns it from a piano-fueled electronic Pop ditty into a dark Dubstep bassfest with some seriously traumatizing synthwork.
