Hot Chip‘s finest cover version to date comes courtesy of War Child’s latest charity compilation ‘Heroes’.
It really does sound like Joy Division fed through a Hot Chip machine, every bit as driving and haunting as the original.

Hot Chip appear on the album alongside the likes of Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peaches, Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand and TV On The Radio, amongst others.
‘Heroes’ is released on the 16th February.

All I can say is – thank god they didn’t cover Love Will Tear Us Apart!
Not beacuse I htink they’d do a bad job, but for the simple fact that it’s been so over covered already.
That said, Transmission is still a pretty obvious pick and there’s no shortage of other worthy material.
