The Aston Shuffle

TheAshtonShuffle

Released this month was The Aston Shuffle’s new single ‘i Wanna’ See You’. I think I first noticed The Aston Shuffle after their reMix of PNAU’s ‘Baby’ way back when, they’ve got a pretty unique take on Electro.

‘I Wanna’ See You’ comes across like a party banger, but it is actually a really intricate track with really smooth vocoded vocals.

NightWaves; ‘Sweet Carrie’ reMixes

NightWaves03

Binary Records guys NightWaves’ single ‘Sweet Carrie was released a few days ago and despite having sung it’s praises we think you might still need some convincing.

So here we have for you some of the reMixes that come with the single, kicking off with LexiconDon, who keep hold of the chilled summer vibe but pull it in more of a straight ElectoPop direction with stunning results. While everyone else in the world is chilling to this tune in the sun with a beverage, Walter Sobcek heads straight for the dancefloor with his take on the track leaving Alfa to crack out an arpeggio driven Electro reMix. It’s a storming reMix package, well worth a purchase!

iamamiwhoami – O

I’m actually pretty amused that iamamiwhoami didn’t turn out to be anyone mega famous, even I thought it was Christina at one point. Turns out it’s most likely Swedish singer/songwriter Jonna Lee, but regardless of who it is, the first single is already out, released without fanfare, and in the end it’s just really good.

Icy synths, haunting vocals and videos just as weird as you would expect:

I Am Noxious starting fires!

IAmNoxious02

UK Lo-Fi SynthPop producer I Am Noxious has got in touch with us to drop his latest recording.

We previously really liked his unique brand of introspective Synth bedroom Pop and his new tune defiantly delivers on his previous materials promise.

‘Watch My Ship Go Down’ is an intimate track that would work just as good on the dancefloor as it does in headphones as every element seems to slot into place perfectly. The glitchy beats, the piano, the soulful vocals, it all adds up to a thing of electronic beauty.

I am expecting in the coming months for I Am Noxious to be mentioned in the same sentences as the likes of Penguin Prison, ‘til then show him some MySpace love.

Ellie Goulding’s new video

The video for Ellie Goulding’s next single, album opener ‘Guns And Horses’, and recently dropped. It’s an amazing song, not so sure about the video though, it seems the director took the lyrics a little tool literally. A bit of imagination or vision wouldn’t hurt.

Still, fantastic song and if the single is our soon I can’t wait to hear some of the reMixes!

MiMó

mimo

MiMó is, or rather was, Erasure’s Any Bell. Having recently released his second single, ‘Will You Be There?". ‘, under the moniker (a tribute to his friend Tomeau Mimó), Andy had decided to release future records under his own name due to more than one artist already using the name Mimo.

The singles, ‘Running Out’ and, the current, ‘Will You Be There?’ are a couple of Italo influenced ElectroPop/EuroPop tunes produced by Pop producer extraordinaire Pascal Gabriel. Upbeat, dancefloor, Pop tracks with Andy’s unmistakable vocals both singles have an impressive line up of reMixers. ‘Will You Be There?’ can include amongst it’s reMix credentials this mix from French Horn Rebellion who bring a relaxed Nu-Disco flavour to the track and ‘Running Out’ features a mix from Indie-Electro band-of-the-moment Fenech-Soler who’s sweeping, chilled, Electro mix is the highlight of the single.

Hey Champ! & Raw Man

HeyChamp

‘Neverest’ is the second single from Chicago Indie-ElectroPop act ‘Hey Champ!’s forthcoming début album ‘Star’.

Having toured with such names as Kid Cudi, Sébastian Tellier, & Passion Pit and built up quite a reputation on the music blogs this album is pretty highly anticipated. Check out Raw Man’s pumping Electro reMix of the single.

Ladytron; Velocifero – reMixed & Rare

Ladytron02

A couple of days ago the supreme rulers of all things Indie-Electro, Ladytron, released the fourth and final instalment of their ‘Remixed & Rare’ series. Each release of the series focused on one of their four studio albums collecting reMixes from the single, B-sides and other gems.

Taking it’s tracks from 2007’s ‘Velocifero’ it’s mostly collected from the singles that accompanied the album with a couple of surprises thrown in. Take a listen to some of our favourites. The Toxic Avenger absolutely hammers home his dirty Electro-House banger version of ‘Ghosts’, Port-Royal turn in a Lo-Fi chilled take on ‘Tomorrow’ while Grey Ghost turns ‘Predict The Day’ into a smooth, vocoder driven, Dreamwave-esq synth odyssey.
