Erasure’s ‘A Little Respect’ HMI Redux

Out this week is a brand new version of SynthPop legends Erasure’s classic ‘A Little Respect’.

Originally from their ‘The Innocents’ album this new version sees all the proceeds from sale going to The Hetrick-Martin Institute, a LGBTQ youth service organization. In their own words “In the wake of all the gay bullying and related suicides that have been reported in the US over the past several months, Erasure wanted to do something special to spread a message of tolerance and to raise money for an organisation that engages in the fight on a daily basis and, because it has become something of a gay rights anthem over the years, it seemed only fitting to release a brand new version of ‘A Little Respect’.”

The ‘HMI Redux’ is a nice update to the original. In keeping with modern production methods its a lot fuller sounding, and just as damn catchy!

Ali Love drops the new single from his awesome ‘Love Harder’ album this coming January.

When ‘Moscow Girl’ comes out on Back Yard Recordings it’ll be backed up with a reMix package featuring Lee Foss, Jaques Renault and  Mustang, who in keeping with todays Old School flavour so-far turns in this early 80’s Electro-Funk sounding mix. It’s top stuff!

Brand new Ride The Universe reMix of Panda People

Been kickin’ back and waiting for this one for a while, turns out it was worth the wait!

Nicky Savage‘s band of LA based Dreamwavers Fiero, have teamed up with Nu-Disco producer digitalfoxglove to form the almighty, trans-Atlantic, Ride The Universe and their first offering for you is a reMix of German DiscoPop band Panda People’s ‘Sophisticated Girl’. I’ve been diggin’ Panda People ever since Nicky turned me onto them a while back but this reMix just ups the ante with some seriously huge analog bass and the sweetest pads this side of the 80’s. These guys are adding a little Funk into the Dreamwave sound and with reMixes of Fenech-Soler and the crazy exiting Futurecop! & Keenhouse collaboration in the works, this is defiantly a gang to keep an eye on.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ ‘Household Goods’ video

Here is the new video from T.E.E.D., also known as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. It’s the title track from his ‘Household Goods’ EP.

The introverted, bleepy ElectroPop track with the chorus that is killing the Radio right now get a slick video with loads of early 90’s design elements and, er,  silver foil hats. It’s a really cool song though that totally grows on you.

I.R.O.K.

This fell into the electronic rumors Inbox, from who knows where, alongside a cryptic email that..well, read for yourself: “”life forms, remove the shackles of the bondage that they keep you in: GET FREE. This is your time to wake up from the heavy heavy sedation” The Arganoids are coming. No, they are already here. Eat. Work. Drink. Fuck. Sleep. GET FREE. IROK is the parallel. IROK is your escape. IROK is the Republic where we will meet in sweat, blood and joy.”.

So, I know nothing about the guys who make this track, I.R.O.K., and I’m not sure I want to ask, but the song’s very cool. It’s a real grower.

Titled ‘Oo Aa Oo’ (you’ll see why when you listen), it’s a weird mash up of ElectroPop styles that shouldn’t really work in one song, but really does. Starting off with a real 90’s Pop vibe, it quickly displays moments of 80’s SynthPop genius (including a wicked sax solo!) and throws you around between the Balearic and the Cosmic before the big 80’s soundtrack finale. It’s almost exhausting (in a good way)and shows a real confidence of songwriting and a lot of studio fun.

It’s an interesting début that defiantly earns I.R.O.K. the position of a band to keep an eye on.

Frankmusik’s ‘The Fear Inside’ video

Frankmusik premiered the video for his forthcoming new single ‘The Fear Inside’ today. It’s a grainy, black & white, affair that sees Vincent Frank heading, well, somewhere, hot chick in tow. The silhouette  shots in front the giant warehouse window are well 80’s!

Still lovin’ the sounds in this track!

‘The Fear Inside’ and Frankmusik’s new album, ‘Do It In The AM’ are due for release in 2011.

Yuksek reMixes Fenech-Soler

This weekend Annie Mac premiered one of the reMixes featuring on Fenech-Soler’s forthcoming single, ‘Demons’ on her show.

A reMix by none other than Yuksek, a man from whom we hear far to little. This new Yuksek production is just as badass as we remember him and takes an already incredible song and turns it into a deep Electro Disco epic.

Can’t wait for this to be released!
