The clip was directed by Marcus Soderlund, who tales a tale of night time competition to the funky Synth track.

EDIT: Well, for the sake of less than 30 seconds of a Daft Punk track in a mix which is, arguably, promoting their music, Walt Disney Records/Universal Music’ have seen fit to kill Pop-Fu 08.Seems a bit pathetic singling this mix out for infringement when a simple search of SoundCloud would reveal (at this time ) at least six illegal uploads of the whole track, but who are we to question the insane logic of a major record label.So Pop-Fu 08 is dead (and, not that I’m that bothered, but the play stats and comments too), lovg live Pop-Fu 08 (Redux)!Yes, it’s the same mix with the offending track removed and a whopping great fade in! I suppose you could pretend the intro is not longer made up of a Daft Punk track but a recording of John Cage’s 4’33”!
January finally sees the release of Kitsuné DJs extraordinaire JBAG’s début artist single.
After numerous awesome reMixes and two essential mix albums (‘Kitsuné BoomBox’ and ‘Kituné X Ponystep’) the duo of Jerry Bouthier and Andrea Gorgerino have teamed up with ex-Ping Pong Bitches frontwoman Louise Prey on ‘X-Ray Sex’.
First heard on the Kitsuné X Ponystep’ compilation, ‘X-ray Sex’ is a pretty stunning début, these two have cranked out some amazing reMixes and edits in the past few years and you can see how things were heading in this direction. Equal parts ElectroPop and House with a nice 80’s flavour (particularly in the bassline), it’s defiantly got a London vibe to it as well. For something a little heavier check the Jolie Cherie reMix which sounds like a mash-up between early 90’s House and some killer Electro bass!

Just ‘cos we’re in a video mood and it’s quite wintery here’s the video for Ali Love’s forthcoming single ‘Moscow Girl’
Directed by Camille Benett and Joe Spray the video is Ice Sakting-tastic, not quite what I expected for the DiscoPop tune, but fitting nonetheless.
‘Moscow Girl’ is out 17th January on Back Yard Recordings.
Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’ is probably one of the most covered tracks in the world, so it’s nice when someone brings something new to the track.
ElectronicaPop artist Error: Operator has teamed up with Harry Lee of recent Kitsuné signing Waylayers to produce this chilled, rolling cover version that captures the emotion of the track but presents it in an almost electro-acoustic new form. Error: Operator brings his intricate programming which makes for a constantly interesting backing for Lee’s rendition.

HURTS bring their, now trademark, bombastic, melancholy ElectroPop to the Indie crew’s track.

‘Down By The Water’ is taken from The Drums’ self-titled début album.
This week saw the release of Swedish Disco Pop producer Fredrick Carlsson’s début EP.
Titled ‘Volume.1’, the EP is a collection of five arpeggio driven ElectroPop tracks with a House flavour. Take this track, ‘Into The Wild’ featuring Domino on vocals. It’s got a real 80’s vibe complementing it’s TechnoPop backing and that slight hint to melancholy so often found in Scandinavian ElectroPop.

‘Volume.1’ was released on Friday and also features guest spots from Joel Sjöö of They Live By Night and Christina Roos of Cat5.
Right, so we told you about Erasure new version of ‘A Little Respect’ earlier this week, but the streaming track was a no go and I didn’t even want to ask for permission to offer the track as a download ‘cos, y’know, its a charity record. A song and a cause that deserve some of your hard earned.
Anyway, you can listen to it now, and, indeed, watch it courtesy of the just released promo clip.
Interestingly, this new ‘HMI Redux’ was mixed by none other than Kap10Kurt!

Belgian Electro-Rock act Goose are gearing up for the release of their long awaited second album, ‘Synrise’, and are kicking off their return with this, the video for their forthcoming single ‘Can’t Stop Me Now.
True to their Belgian roots, the track is borderline Old School EBM with a modern Electro/ElectroPop slant and will probably find receptive ears amongst fan of The Presets. The EBM arpeggios combined with modern production and anthemic vocals make for a track that’s sure to storm the clubs.
The video was directed by Megaforce.
‘Synrise’ (already available in Belgium) is out in 2011 on Studio !K7.
‘Fade to Black’ was actually the first MNDR track I heard, way back when it was part of the ’E.P.E’ EP, it was the track that really got me into this New York ElectroPop duo.
Great news for us in the UK then, as ‘Fade to Black’ is being released as a double A-side with fellow ‘E.P.E.’ track ‘I Go Away’ on limited edition 7” via Trouble Records.
Despite most of the UK knowing Amanda Warner’s unique vocals from Mark Ronson’s storming ‘Bang Bang Bang’ her voice seems much more suited to her raw SynthPop. MNDR’s music is stripped down enough to be Minimal Synth but catchy and funky enough to be DiscoPop, weird huh? But it really works. If you didn’t like the Ronson track (and if you didn’t you need help!) don’t write off MNDR, ‘cos their own material is some of the best SynthPop being produced right now. Just check out the anthemic ‘Fade to Black’:
